Another update complete, this one courtesy of (the incredible, phenomenal) Craftymouse .....

CARTAGENA

One downside, she makes my OMD (Obsessive Mouse Disorder) appear in the normal range!!!

Only kidding, but she put it together since about 4 this afternoon!

Aw gee...:flower3: thanks Tom! It was lots of fun to put together and I now feel like we'll have no problem doing Cartagena on our own! We plan to do a carriage tour of the Ciudad Antigua, followed by some exploring.

On to Puerto Vallarta!

I just loved the info on Cartagena!!!!! Great job Craftymouse!! :worship: :worship:

After reading the 25 tips for tourists.......Why are we going there???:confused3 :confused3

Thanks for your kind words!

You know, I debated putting the 25 Tips link in there, but thought there was some good information. I think as long as we use common sense the port will be wonderful! I'm doubly excited as it will be my first visit to another continent!

:lmao: I was thinking the same. How do we carry our money:confused3 No purse, no fanny pack, no expensive camera,
How am I gonna buy my Colombian Emeralds:scared1:

Well I think I just found my door sign for our day in Aruba!

Geeuz, Mike you took the idea right out of my head. I was thinking that would make an awesome door sign for all participants.

I copied it too for my Aruba door sign:thumbsup2

Guess I am back to my 15 passenger van. :sad2:
I don't know why I fall for these things from DCL.
In our cruises case, the check in does not work either unless you have transfers from PC to MCO or air and transfers. LAX to port would not involve any airport check-in so it does not apply.
So you either have to buy transfers or you are on your own. I still fail to see how this is any different than what happens now. We have a 2:00 flight so it would not pay to get DCL transfers or we would be at the airport forever. I want to do what we did last time which was going to DTD or one of the hotels in the meantime.
Next time there is some kind of DCL "press release" that involves air or transfer everyone repeat "Coral, step away from the computer. If it sound too good to be true, it is!" :)

We went to DTD before and after our last cruise. It definitely made going home a little easier:)

M, I love your picture wall! :lovestruc

Me too :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

In Napa - V Sattui
Winery of the year, year after year - never had a bad wine of any sort from them. Our favorite trick is to get their Muscat and let it sit around for 3-5 years (usually cause we forgot about it) - not only does the wine hold up for that long, but it's excellent! Don't bother looking in the store for them - you can only get it direct from the winery. Thus, the free shipping box... Of course, being local - you probably already knew that. :rotfl: DH thought I was nuts when I told him to get the free shipping box. "But we're just going home." I had to remind him it would be handy for the cruise. :sad2:

We LOVE V Sattui! DH and I have been to Napa 3 times and make sure to stop at V Sattui on each trip. We love to get there around noon and put together a picnic lunch at their wonderful deli. My kids were with us the last time we visited and still talk about the lunch we had there!

Have you ever been to the Van der Heyden vinyard? It's also in Napa but on the Silverado Trail. It's a very small operations but their wines are to-die-for!

We gave up our June trip to California to do the EB PC cruise so no Napa for us this year. :sad1:

I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this link..............I'm getting myself in trouble again.............

I just found this comforter on there. It's the current one being used on the ships.

I was really glad you put in the 25 tips, I would have felt so stupid getting scammed, I tend to be too trusting:rolleyes1

First trip off the continent for me too:goodvibes

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but wanted to say thanks for your efforts. Cartegena is the port we're most excited about (especially with that whole 'nother continent thing!), so we can't wait to check out the info you put together.

) And for thefinal question posed in 2007 ... by popular demand.... Tell us something about you we (probably) don't know... !

Back in NY and some years ago......I was the co-chair for the March of Dimes Walk America and tripled the amount of money raised in prev. years.

The 1st MoD walk I did was when I was pregnant w/ oldest DD in 1996. I was about 15 weeks along. It was 12 miles and my friend and I ran the last of it just to be smart alecs to the ones that were huffing and puffing to finish walking.
Little did I know at that time what a difference MofD would make in my own life in just a few months. That baby was born at 24 weeks and would never be alive today if it were not for MoD. They developed Surfactant that kept Megan's tiny fragile lungs from "blowing". I cry every time I see one of their commercials as there is no way to repay the gift they made possible to me.

Also, Roger hug your wife for me. To little preemies (and their parents) the NICU nurses are God. I was amazed and pleased with what they could do for a baby so tiny (1 pound). I will forever be grateful beyond words and deeds how many people helped keep my little Megan with us.

This "little bundle of joy" just called her 8 yo sister a "pig" so I guess all is how it was intended to be. :)

I sent Jolly Pirates and e-mail asking about their cancelation policy just to have something in writing.

This is the policy:

In the unlikely event of bad weather or in the unlikely event that you r
ship would not arrive we will promptly refund your tickets.

We do not refund tickets for sunburns, over sleeping, good/bad luck in the
casinos, change of heart.

Please let me know if you have other questions.

Sunny regards,

Carla

DW plans to do a little browsing for emeralds too. That's what she went looking for in the Bahamas and ended up with tanzanite instead, so now she's on a mission. I'm a little worried about how safe it will be if we do find something there.

We're staying at the same place! I sent a email to HoJos this afternoon, to see about airport shuttles. Ill let you know if I hear anything. Coincidently,we'll most likely be arriving about the same time of night on the 15th.

HoJo's itself does not have an airport shuttle. There is an Anahiem Resort area shuttle service. Info here http://www.anaheimtours.us/tours/tourType.cfm/ttid2/3162

Also, there's private shuttles, the most commonly used is SuperShuttle which can be booked online and they offer an AAA or Entertainment discount of $2 per person. http://www.supershuttle.com/

I'm sure Willie will have more info for you too. In all my trips to DL, I have never taken a shuttle. It has always come out cheaper for me to rent a car (either with discount codes or through priceline). But I think there is limited car rental services at the port so it's harder to get a deal.

I love to drink wine too, but I have such a low tolerance that I'm usually limited to one glass a night:rolleyes1

My Dad ordered a glass of red wine (I think it was a Merlot) in a restaurant years ago that was so good. I lost the paper that I wrote the name of the wine on. But it had a very strong vanilla aroma (or bouquet-forget which one). The minute I started to get close to the glass I could smell vanilla.
Have not found a red wine close to it since.
Have ever had a red wine like this ?

Hmmm...we didn't have this comforter in December. Both of our cabins (one Cat. 9 on Deck 2 and one Cat. 6 on Deck 6) had the navy blue comforter with the nautical flags on it.

Thanks! If anybody has any more information or anything to add just let me know and I can revise my page and send it to Tom for posting!

I'm sure DCL will have some recommended places to shop.
I'm gonna do some research ahead of time too so I have an idea what I'm looking at.

BTW I also got tanzanite (ring) in Nassau:thumbsup2

I booked a category 8 today...thought I gotta admit I will only do this cruise if I can get into a 4, 5, or 6! Hopefully one will become available before May!!!
