Took DS to the neuro surgeon for his follow up. He got cleared to go back to school on Monday. :cool1: No more house arrest. He won't be back in PE until the end of the month. And no contact sports until March.

But there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage. They were initially concerned about possible hearing loss. But weird thing is it seems as it he hearing slightly improved. :confused3 He hasn't been wearing his hearing aids but he hasn't had to have the TV up as loud as he used to. Could be that he just doesn't really care about paying attention to the programs. We'll be scheduling a full hearing test in a few weeks.

What great news Monica, thanks for the update.........:thumbsup2

G'mornin' pirate:s
Got my confirmation - we are officially Roger's Jolly Pirates!

JR - everyone owes you thanks for my much smaller bar bill!! :rotfl:

Thanks J.R.!!

No, no, no - you must have misread it. It should say...

Bask in the SUNRISE on the beach...

I don't bask in ANYTHING at 6am!

Yeah. 2 wine packages. And I'll just send that bill along to...
:rotfl:

Seriously though, we'll probably bring about a case with us. You'll need to tell me what you guys like.

Well, not unlike cake, we like wine. We are pretty eclectic in our tastes and try a lot of different wines.

We usually only pack 2-3 bottles of wine for shows, etc., and get the wine package for dinner. I like to figure out which wine we want after we decide what we are having for dinner, but with 15 dinners, I think I am beginning to
see the wisdom of lugging a case or so onboard.

So what is your plan for getting it on the ship?

Well darn, the New Year comes along and we all get busy. Aruba. check. Cartagena. check. T-****. check. Aren't we the productive bunch.

I am such a slacker!

YAY! I'm sure being trapped in the house with an ST is not fun! I'm glad he's getting better.

Oh, yeah, and...

Current Temperature
Eagle River, Alaska: 21* feels like 21*
Alexandria, Virginia: 23*, feels like 11*

It is below freezing. I'm shocked DC hasn't shut down.

what is this all about? is this only if you have disney air and transfers?

Last October DCL made a big deal about a press release that basically said you could now check your bags all the way through from outside your room to your home airport. We all got excited and they even referenced "Participating airlines only" and went on to list them.
I personally booked my own air through AA so I could take advantage of this. Then people started calling and found out if was for DCL transfrers only. :confused3 Hello, isn't that pretty much what they have always done for DCL transfers?
Anyway, it made a lot of us mad since it was presented as a new really great new option.
This appears to be their modified version of the original plan. No mention of "Participating airlines" and it even says it is good for those who use book "independent" air. That's me!!!
Now if THIS one pans out, we will not have to lug 6 peoples luggage for 15 days out of the port, to the rental car bus, into the rental car, out of the rental car and into the airport. Just set it out the night before, and do not touch again until I get back to Dallas. :cool1:
We'll see what changes in the next 7+ months.

Shannon I believe that it is either/or

For this very reason I will be calling tomorrow to include transfer from PC to MCO through DCL.

By the way love your family photo on the website. :thumbsup2

I am curious why this announcement would make you more likely to book DCL transfers. To me this eliminates the hassle of handling your own luggage that you have to when you do it yourself- therefore increasing the benefit of doing it yourself.

How does this work for the one remaining bag you may need to check (the stuff for the last night - if you have things like hair gel or perfume or razors that violate carry on rules?). Can you still check another bag at airport or with dcl?

Good question. The press release mentioned that you would get your boarding pass on your bed the night before so I am not sure if you have already "checked in" if they allow you to check in another bag.
I will tell you on our cruise I was just throwing things in my carryon the last morniing without a single thought to TSA. I flew right through the checkpoint. When I got home I realized I had a ton of loose bottles floating around my carryone w/ many being larger than 3 ozs.

Hello Everyone !
I am tired just thinking about everything I need to get done in the next 2 days. I will be on and off the dis. I have party updates to post.

I need to find a lawyer  Could I possibly ask Tom something off the Q---T? Sending you a PM.:rolleyes1

Wanted to post this earlier but we know how that goes...........this is the sweater that Grandma made Dante.

Starting next week no more working from home.:sad1: That's why I am taking these 2 days off. I will be working from office, I am still in this shoe thingy for at least another 4 weeks. The kid that jumped on my foot is slowing down my progress.

That is so pretty! You can tell that is one proud pooch.

I was told months ago when DCL announced the easy check-in that it was an experiment in progress. Because I have transfers...... not staying at a Disney resort...... or leaving from Orlando Airport......for the East Bound Panama.....what do I do????? :confused3 :confused3 I was told we have months and it will be decided in the future. I guess I would have to tell our Dreams Agent of my flight numbers. I guess we just need time to let DCL figure out the logistics from California.:thumbsup2

This has to be your carry-on.:thumbsup2 That is why we each had a 21 inch carry-on to bring on the plane even with the DCL tranfers. :goodvibes

I'm interested to find out too. I'll be calling DCL later today and see if I can get some more information. My guess is that it will only work in Port Canaveral and not in LA, but we will see.

I'm sure if you sent your agent your flight info, she would be more than happy to update DCL ;)

I did not pursue the LAX- DCL part because I am already flying in the day before and staying at San Pedro so I only need to check my bags through from DCL -MCO.
Let us know what you find out.

So what is your plan for getting it on the ship?

Getting it on the ship is no problem. Our last visit to our favorite Napa Winery they gave us a "free" shipping case (free after buying a case of wine). Big box, lovely syrofoam inserts, designed for airline travel. So, it just goes on with the rest of the regular luggage. Used the same trick for our 7-day in 2006 (and yes - between the 5 adults, we went through about 10 bottles. :drinking1 ) left it to the gorillas to bring up and it arrived all safe and sound.

These specially designed shipping cases are built for rough handling. Course, what that does to your wine is another problem. I highly recommend them to anyone planning on bringing wine with them. And yes, you can get them for less than a case.
.

We are thinking of driving out to the new Mousesurplus warehouse tomorrow. I'll let you know if it was worth the trip..............They are only open Tues,Wed and Thurs til 4pm.

What fun! We have a few of the DCL lounge chairs! The pool/beach ones!
