You still going to have your House Party?? I asked someone who lives close by but they never responded. :confused3

Coral

Yes. But, I may have to change it to Sunday. And DH may be in town after all!!!!! :woohoo: He told me a couple of days ago that he has to change the dates for the opening in England.

My DS Stephen aged 9, really believes in Santa, - ever since Santa brought him and X-box 360 package, !!!!

If your 9ds is like mine he is pretty sure that Mom would NEVER get him anything that COOL! :thumbsup2

My sentiments exactly. 2008 - Year of the TOAL:cheer2:

Here is a picture of the dress I got this summer for $10 at Kohl's. It is a little big, but by the end of the cruise it might fit!:lmao: Is it OK for formal night? I am not much for long dresses I will never wear again (unless I talk my DH into another cruise).

This will be just fine!

I'm very hesitant to book the Jolly Pirates. I just can't book this far in advance unless I know I can cancel. I know they said it would not be a problem if the ship didn't make the port. But my issue is that I don't know if I will make it. I really won't know for sure if I'm sailing until I make final payment in May.

Don't worry Monica. I have sent an email off to Jolly Pirate with our current numbers and potential numbers. I asked them how many can fit on a boat and about linking. Hopefully we will have an answer soon to give us some insight of how full they are. I think that there will still be room for a while.

Thanks, she loves them. I also bought her two others, she can't wait to wear them. My biggest concern is that they fit! With puberty and growth spurts, but I made sure they all had room in them. Thankfully with receipts Kohls will give me all my money back!!

I was worried about the same thing. My DD is 10 (11 in May). We bought 2 dresses at Macys for Christmas that will be good for semiformal or formal if they still fit by August:confused:

Both dresses you showed for your DD are adorable:thumbsup2

I have stayed out of the Aruba pirate trip as my DD, gets seasick on smaller boats, she is ok on the Magic but is sick on anything smaller.

Us too - DD gets ill on small boats. It is hard to get her on the tenders too but we usually ask if we can board last right before it leaves

I've been extremely sick on small boats too:sick: Ruined a cool snorkeling trip we had planned in Maui for our honeymoon:sad2: But I'm counting on bonine and ginger to keep me from getting sick:goodvibes That seems to do the trick for me as long as I remember to take it:rolleyes:

I just got an e-mail from Jolly Pirates. Officially, their tickets are non-refundable:scared1:

Hey Crew -
We're putting together a charter for a family of diver & snorklers in Aruba. Small boat - getting information from the dive shop on the size, but it's a 25' dive boat - so figure 8.

Our family consists of 2 divers - if DS11 can get his Junior certification before the cruise, and 2 snorklers.

Looking for another mixed dive family, or divers to round out the charter.

The dive shop I've found is on the south side of the island and has received excellent reviews. They're off the beaten track (no crowds!) and very customer oriented.

We did this same thing in St Thomas on our last cruise and it was the highlight of the cruise.

Happy New Year!!

Where did the pirate go for a drink?

To the barrrrrrgh!

Baugh. It's terrible - but appropriate for the day... ;)

Just received my response from Carla at Jolly pirate.

Jolly Pirates Aruba to me

Hi Roger,

Our larger ships takes out 65 guests.

Please have the remaining group of your friends/family reserve and we can arrange they are all together when they mention on their reservation forms that they are with Roger’s group.

Hope this helps!

Happy New Year!

We have 39 booked that I could find with 24 potentials.

I don't think we are allowed to have multiple threads for the same cruise. I have a feeling that may get closed.

I understand that with the size of this thread the actual excursion discussions can get lost. But our great webmaster is very good at summarizing all the information on our website. If you don't have the information on it, please pm Tom31b for more info.

I already emailed the info to Tom and we have corresponded by email.

Hey Crew -
Well, we're finally back from my parents and I have all my regular equipment back. :lovestruc

Santa left Issac (DS6) a really cool card in his stocking this year. Don't know if you remember that Issac insisted on giving Santa his card key from the Magic last year so that Santa could go on a cruise. Well, here's the reply...

Esteri...I got goose bumps reading the reply from Santa!!! :goodvibes What a wonderful and creative way to tell DS.:thumbsup2 By the way I still believe in Santa!!!:cloud9:

Debi, I find that as soon as I walk out on an outside deck the wind just whips my hair to pieces. Most of the time you'll find me with a small headband just to keep my hair out of my eyes. First cruise I brought my hot curlers and I haven't bothered since. But I would be glad to assist you.:)

I just decided early this morning to sell my hot rollers in a garage sale this year!!! :lmao: I started spring cleaning today and came across the brand new rollers. I guess if I haven't used them yet...time to throw out.:lmao: :lmao: I always have the wind swept look myself!!:rotfl2:

Did I mention how much I love summer...? I'm sitting with the back door open and a warm breeze coming through the house, the sun is streaming in and the furkids are all flat out asleep. Sounds like heaven to me but enjoy the snow :rotfl2:

Could I send some your way????:confused3 We have 6 inches again!!!!:sad2: With the wind chill. the temperature will feel like minus twenty below zero tonight!!!

She took anti sea sick tablets before the tender boats in the Med last year and that seemed to work, but I avoid any sea excursions to be on the safe side, Cabo seems to be the only issue this cruise.

We did a pirate cruise in Clearwater Florida that was ok, as it stayed in the inland channels most of the time, and it was calm.

We're doing late -- I doubt if we even want to do early.... We've always done late.

We've always done Early too, but decided to try something different. Kev has diabetes and it's really much better for him if we eat early.

Happened to see this in the WSJ and thought it would apply to our group. I know we will be traveling with probably 3 cameras, 1 digicam and 1 laptop. I alway carry back-up batteries but may have to rethink this.

Government Puts Restrictions
On Lithium Batteries on Flights
By ROBERT DANIEL
December 31, 2007 11:59 a.m.

Flying well-equipped for business and pleasure gets a bit more complicated Tuesday, as the U.S. Transportation Department bars travelers from packing loose lithium batteries in checked luggage.

The move is designed to help minimize the risk that such batteries could overheat and catch fire on board, the agency's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration said in a statement Friday.

The new rules beginning Jan. 1 say travelers can bring a laptop computer, digital camera, cellphone and other equipment on board or in checked luggage if their lithium batteries are installed in the items.

And fliers can bring spare batteries in carry-on luggage if they're stored in plastic bags or if they're in the original retail packaging. But travelers can bring only as many as two such spare batteries, and each must be packed separately.

Additional points about lithium content:

• Passengers can fly with lithium-ion batteries containing no more than the equivalent of eight grams of lithium content. All lithium-ion batteries in cellphones and almost all laptop-computer batteries meet this rule, the agency says.

• As for spares, fliers can bring as many as two, but the batteries' total lithium content must be less than 25 grams.

• And for lithium-metal batteries, whether installed in a device or carried as a spare, the maximum lithium content is two grams per battery. Almost all consumer-type lithium-metal batteries meet this rule, the agency says.
