We saw National Treasure 2 on Friday night. I personally thought it was entertaining but not as good as the 1st (are they ever?).
I also would not want to scare anyone off of RCCL. We have gone on 2 RCCL cruises and thoroughly enjoyed them both. I know I am in the minority but I do not see a lot of difference between DCl and RCCL (except the price  )

Hi everyone

I just had a chance to quickly SKIM the thread.
All of the pictures look great.:cheer2:

Last Wednesday Tyreak decided he wants to spend Christmas in NC with his father and stepmom. A few weeks ago he said he wanted to stay home. As much as I wanted to say no (he's always spent Christmas and every other holiday with me) I agreed.:sad1:

Tyreak and his dad are both excited about spending the holiday's together. His stepmom has planned some cool things so I know he'll have a blast. I just seems so odd not to have my baby here Christmas morning.:guilty:

I've spent the last 4 days running around making sure he has everything he needs for the trip as well as picking up gifts for his grandparents, dad and stepmom. All of this between finals, papers, working my full time job and a seasonal job at the Times Square Toys R US.

Sorry LaTanya, didn't mean to jinx it when I said he might change his mind. I hope you aren't too lonely this holiday.

Brooke & I booked a very last min. cruise on RCCL. Couple of days before cruise I broke my left toe and hurt a second toe real bad. A door got in the way, imagine that.

We just came home late Friday night and Wow did Christmas get here quick.:)

Brooke & I are now coming down with a cold. I take my airborne often and I always seem to get sick after flying.

My 2 cents on RCCL...........We won't ever go on that cruise line again. Let's just say we didn't have any big expectations, heck we didn't even pack till the night before.:rotfl2: We didn't do any excursions, it just wasn't that kind of trip for us. Now saying that, I could go on and on how this happened or that happened but it really seems pointless at this time to mention it all.

Everyone should try something at least once, like a movie, it could get great reviews and you see the movie and hate it.

Nice to see you back Tina. Glad you got some time to just get away. Sorry you didn't like RCCL. I've had 2 amazing cruises on them and was actually a little disappointed with DCL because they didn't meet my expectations. Didn't stop me from booking another DCL though.

Monica, did you get someone to sit with your son?

DH used to do that with DS when he was little - I remember how excited he would get the closer Santa got to us. Never ever had to worry about getting him in to bed on Christmas Eve

We still watch it. And you're right, no problem getting DS to be tonight.

Monica, did you get someone to sit with your son?

I was thinking the same thing. How ya doin' Monica? Hope things are working out. And remember, no matter how things unwind - if you've got your family together and the health matters and under control - what else do ya really need (besides another voyage on the Magic or Wonder)?

Just the same - we hope all is proceeding in a managable fashioon!

Monica, did you get someone to sit with your son?

I ended up just bundling him up and had him sit in the car while I ran into the store for a few minutes. Didn't have time to get everything done, but at least I got a few things.

Before there were Christmas carols sung around an open fire, there was .... a silent night.

Before there was tinsel strung and strings of light wrapped around the world, there was ... a single star.

Before there were multitudes wishing "Merry Christmas", there was a single voice wishing "Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men"

Before the wide-eyed wonder of Christmas morning, before all the packages, ribbons, wrapping paper and bows, there was a Child born in a manger who showed the world the true meaning of love.

This Christmas, I hope we all open our hearts first.

Merry Christmas to all of the friends I've made in the past year on this thread.

J. R.

That's such a wonderful message. Thank You JR for this moment of reflection and spiritual atonement.

And now - may I share an equally thoughtful moment of reflection though the following image....

That's great Monica! Although it's not the usual or preferred solution - it was a survivable compromise of sorts.

Sorry you had to do that, You seemed pretty stressed last night . So hopefully getting a few things done helps to ease your stress. I know how much I depend on my Mom at times--so I know you are facing a double whammy. Just keep in mind that your Mom is getting care and your son is home with you and that is what's important.

Tom...... could you see if you could arrange getting me this crown. It is worn by the Queen of England!!!:lmao: Dianmonds are a girls best friend!!! Besides it has purple too!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Don't let Andrew know - as I suspect he's one of those fellows whos on the "up and UP" - but I'm trying to contact someone who might be able to help you with the Queens' crown. Once I connect you - you'll have to work out the details for the "job". And in the "job" you're looking to "contract" I prefer to remain outside of involvement... and thus ....

You think YOU'RE in the minority when it comes to cruise likes and dislikes? My spouse and I have nice things to say about Costa! As well as RCCL AND Carnival! As generally, we're OK (even happy) to sail anywhere on anything that serves us 3 hots with a couple cots to flop on!

<chuckles>

Well.. actually, I was far more critical of Costa than my sposue was - and I was far more critical of Costa then I've EVER been with reference to any cruise we took. And still... would I sail Costa again? Why, compared to most other diversions my answer would have to be "YES". However, compared to sailing Disney or most other cruise lines I'd have to say "NO".

Why, yesterday we went to Magic Mountian (an amusement park specializing in full blooded roller coasters. Compared to Disneyland - sadly, Magic Mountian had an astonishing absence of Holiday decoration! The entire park was in disrepair and the crowd in attendance seemed like they were from the 3rd world or a ghetto (sometimes). However, the rides were astonishingly fun and the ride operators were mostly amazing in thier courtesy and patience. And the park was almost empty so we simply walked onto rides that at Disneyland would have cost 2 hours in time to get on!

We had 7 free passes to get in (ROGER - at Easter the Reagan Library puts on activities and has given out free passes to Magic Mountian as one of their benefits - I guess a Magic Mountain executive is a supporter of the Library or or of Ronald Reagans' legacy) and saved $330 against regular admission. So we went for the first time in near 15-20 years. And had a pretty good time... in spite of the airport style metal detectors at the front gate.... and the sherrif's office prominant at the park entrance! Obviously, the park has had a problem with gang-bangers.

Boy - though - some of those roller coasters we tried were EXTREME and MEMORABLE!

Your not alone Terri, I am at work too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

Fly by (umm...sail by) posting to wish all my Dis friends a
Merry Christmas!

We're in Ohio right now, so computer time is limited.
We had a traditional family gathering yesterday - we gathered around the TV to watch the Browns beat themselves, then made sugar cookies. All 10 of us, making sugar cookies. We've done it forever - since there were only 5 of us. Let's just say it starts with throwing flour at one another and goes downhill from there.

Anyway, I hope that you all have a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

M. & the rest of the sk8ingfamily.

I can't believe I had to come in to work today! Out of an office of 50 people there are maybe 5 people here. But of course someone from the support staff has to be here and of course that person is me because all my staff has off.

Oh well, more time to ketchup on the boards. I was up till midnight finishing up wrapping gifts and got up at 6 AM. I could have slept in. There was no traffic on the road and it only took me 25 minutes to get here instead of the usual 35.

So to all my fellow cruisers:

"Merry Christmas"

I hope Santa is good to you and enjoy that eggnog and pumpkin pie.

Right now everyone else in my family is at home sleeping in because they don't have to work! (No I'm not bitter )

Just a fly by posting to wish you all

Busy as all get out... I love the new job, but boy does it eat up time.

Oh, yeah and my sewing machine broke (a fact that my secret Mickey will find out soon), which means it needs to be repaired.

We have Christmas Eve with my Family this afternoon, and then Christmas Morning with Mike's family. Then I get to go sing for a retirement home in the afternoon.

In case I don't make it back in the craziness of the Holidays:

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Joel.... I don't know why ... but I really liked the image you posted... I just dunn-o why?

Thanks for posting that video clip. DH and I spent about 30 mins at Ritz camera yesterday trying to decide if we are going to take the DSLR plunge. I cannot even manage to take good pictures with my point and shoot so not sure plunking down $1000+ on another camera is the best idea. DH has the Sony something or other and he loves it. I did not realize until yesterday that it had the video option like my Nikon did. May have to consider it for me.

I love these updates. The girls are expecyed back from their Grandparents around noon so we will start the tracking then.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

pirate: Merry Christmas to you too, Alice & Steve.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hope everyone has a great day. Andrew I see your tracking Santa too! You'll see Santa before we do, what in about 8 hours? Norad does a great job of tracking him.

Happy, Happy Christmas Everyone.
