From looking at Andrews navs from 2005, this is what I have come up with for time changes...

Day 1 LA

Forward one hour that night

Day 3 CSL

Forward one hour that night

Day 9 TPC crossing

Forward one hour that night


Now, I do not know how Cartagena will add to this mix. They are in the EST, BUT they do NOT follow DLS. So we may not change the clock until after Day 10. (But Panama does do DLS, but I am guessing it won't affect us since we are not getting off there)

Even though Aruba is in the Atlantic time zone (1 hour ahead of the east coast) they do not use DST so the time will not change for that.

Hope I make sense. At least something else to talk about.:)

I can help with that.....see the little yellow box with a mountain in it? Click on that, then paste the URL for the photo. Oh, to get the URL, right click on the banner you want, then Properties. Copy the URL. Then go to your User CP, Edit Signature, then look for the yellow mountain box.

Or, get the URL, go to your Sig, then put
after it (no spaces)

OK, you want to get more upset? Our friends booked a cat 4 on the westbound for LESS than what we booked our cat 8 on the EB. :( :( :( :(

Is this really worth it???

omg!!! we got on too!!! so psyched!!! is there a list of everyone that got rooms?? i've been trying to keep up with the posts today, but i'm also trying to watch the rugrats here too....(i do daycare and i really should have taken the day off!!)

That refers to the Pacific locations. I thought Cabo was chillly in June and California does not get warm until later.

If a CAT 4 starts at $8000 for just two - then how can this be with an 8 costing more here? I hope this is not so....:confused:

OK they are booked at less than a cat 8 at the last price of 9512.96 with the 10% OBC. Still more than what we paid for the 8 but not by much.
 
I think more people with kids are looking to do the EB also because of school, etc. There is no way I can take my son out of school in May - it is just to close to the end of the school year.

FINALLY.......I GOT THROUGH!!!!!!

After being disconnected, I tried again and after about an hour wait, I finally made it.

No actual cabins available....only guarantees. First she said there were only Cat 4s....more than i wanted to spend, but it would get me on and I could always change later. As we were speaking, a Cat 5 came available....and right after that, a Cat 7.....Yippee!!!!!!! Apparently people are calling and cancelling left and right because of double and TRIPLE booking (shame, shame!) Price was $5,826 for 2 adults with my previous 10% discount, which seems awfully low considering all the price increases. Hmmm, that must be my balance after the $1000 deposit. I guess i'll know for sure when I get the confirmation. At least I'm on with the category I wanted. Now I need a drink.....why is the rum always gone? This has been a long day.....

Okay I mentioned this to Andy but I didn't want to be accused of hitting the rum. Um Lisa's banner in her sig appears & disappears constantly. When I did see it & I copied it into my sig. it came out blank. Andy tried to help & even he couldn't do it & he is waaaay more computer literate than me. Anyway I settled for the black, but just wanted you to know.
 
I refuse to get upset at this point - it's just not worth it. I have decided that no matter what I have/had to give up at this point, I'm going on this cruise and will have a GREAT time.

In many ways, I blame DCL for all this - they had to know what kind of response they were going to get this monring from past experience. Instead of booking all these tiers they could have just come up with an average price for each cat and charged that to everyone and still have made their money.

This has a nice ring to it... but I am unsure how they would implement it. AIrlines use the same kind of system - except with smaller sized "packets" and they have a huge number of vehicles to fill and manage. This sort of make me pause and think... if this is so much simpler then airline res management - then why can't they come up with a better (READ - less annoying and tramatic) way of handling it?

WHen I first sailed DCL and debarked - I marveled at how well run the luggage management was handled. I thought ... DCL can teach every other cruise line a thing or two about all kinds of things germain to cruising. Unfortunately, handling the reservation process in these hours of chaotic initial demand was not a painless process.

Oh well - there it is. :confused3

I just checked the DCL website under our ressie # and it still shows our "dummy" booking. I can only assume our reservation either hasn't been made yet or not transferred.:confused3
Yikes. Now I am not sure if it is in my best interest to try to get my own reservation or give my TA more time...
Rats, this waiting is killing me!
I have to also decide just how much is too much. At what point could you book two vacations for the price of this one, or back to back DCL carib trips? or A week at an all inclusive in the Carib. followed by a week at WDW for less?! Man, I love DCL, but these choices might have to be evaluated.

Oh, the one good thing that happened today is that at 9:10 early dining was booked but because we had main dining on our original resie that was transferred, the CM put us in main dining. Now to get everyone who wants to be switched over.

I couldn't get early dining for 4 people at 8:41 am EST.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow to even bother trying to switch (or waitlist) that. How much power do you wield with linking dining Lisa?

Hey Judy - where are you (on the ship)? Deck 2 right?
