8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 2

I got a call from my AAA agent earlier saying she hasn't been able to get through on her TA line which sent me into a panic and I called DCL myself.

I was on hold at least 45 minutes. By then, I could only get a category 5 for the 4 of us (boys will be 7 and 11) for $11,908 and a cateogry 8 for $10,048.96. I could have gotten a category 6 this morning on line for $10,008.00 but was relying on my AAA TA.

The DCL agent said in order for us to transfer the 10% off from a cruise we booked last month for this August, our AAA agent (we transferred it to her) would have to call in and it would be at the quote that she gets, not the one I put on hold (the category 5).

She said a lot of people booked on line and called to get the 10% off and were mad they couldn't get their on line price.

If my TA calls me with those types of prices for our two rooms- I'm going to have to cancel. I am NOT paying over $20k for this cruise. No way... not happening. I could go on super extra mega deluxe vacations to Jamaica with flight and everything included FOUR TIMES OVER for that price.. for 10 days each vacation with a nanny for the kids and everything. Everything included. I am absolutely NOT paying $20k for this cruise, much as I want to go! I don't want to go that much. I don't know if I could even afford that! After also adding on flight, and everything else. geesh

The way people are feeling with these price increases & hold times, it might not be too safe for the mouse to show up around here at the moment.

I feel sorry for the CMs taking the calls right now. This is how it has been before & lots of people tried to get the word out to warn others so this wouldn't happen again.

POST SUMMARY 6001 - 6500:

- Callers to DCL are now being tortured with It's A Small World After All.
- Davy Crocket took over the phone lines and shooed all the little kids in IASW away.
- Both Andy and The Captain needed to call for their brown pants.
- Poop a brick is our new slang for being upset with the prices we are ending up paying for this cruise...thanks to Andy.
- The laundry rotation sign up onboard has begun.
- Sk8 will be planning our group free excursion program for the cruise.
- Pirates are coming out of the woodwork I tell ya!
- The price shock settles in and pirates are still trying to book at 3:00 pm.
- The ship is full at the moment but space is expected to open with the cancellations.
- Add the banner or walk the plank
- Westbounders came to campaign for their logos and talk about "shrinkage"
- Mary Rose will be in charge of all frozen beverages ---she and I get to choose the flavor of the day.
- The Capt. will be filming an ironing video for tshirt making and teenagers.
- We decided you guys had all been lurking to figure out if you really wanted to cruise with us....I guess we passed
- Lisa posted her 1000th post on this thread ---it must have been the Beast
- Bonfire for all DIS lime green items will be on Deck 9 at 10 pm
- Shhhhh--Enna is part of the witness protection program ......don't tell her realtives where to find her.

They really should make a way that you can book online and keep your 10%. Like a way to transfer your ressie online instead of making a new ressie? Or something. You know they COULD find a way to give the 10% even after they booked online... they just don't wanna.

But actually I feel sorry for the CM's this morning even without this issue! You know they are stressed out right about now...

Someone on this board about an hour - or 2 - ago that when we finally get through, we will be pleasantly surprised with the prices.....maybe they go by our queue time, which would be 8:03 for me! I hope they're right!

Sorry but when Todd got thru he had been on hold since before then with a 7 minute wait time & we got the higher prices at that time.

Technically he said it about them messing up the ressie to May but I guess it will work about the prices. Cause if my TA calls me in a bit and wasn't able to get better pricing and I ended up with 2 rooms at $10K each,I'm going to be pooping a brick... right before I start bawling and cancel my ressie.
