I can't believe how much you all post! Now that I've spent the better part of the last few hours catching up, I guess I should get on to the day's main event: working on a very involved spreadsheet. I have to do something to pay the upcoming CC bills for our CC trip. Good thing I'm on STD these days so that I can not get too far behind on this thread!

I love Mel Brooks and have been known to quote lines from his movies at the most opportune times, and the most inopportune as well! For our anniversary DH got me the box collection of 8 or 10 of his movies. There was one I never even heard of - "The 12 Chairs" it was rather funny. Maybe I should go home tonight and watch good ol' Mel to make the time go by faster.

I said I wasn't going to drink soda today...but I REALLY need some caffeine.
But then if I walk down to the vending machines, then I risk getting junk food too...NO! I have to save all of my change for the cruise!
We have huge plastic water bottle (like the ones that go on water coolers) at home that we throw all of our loose change into. It has now become our "cruise fund", and in addition to loose change, I've been throwing loose dollar bills into it too since it became the cruise fund...

Finally caught up on 20 pages and now for my one post to keep in the thick of things...
I, too had a scary dream about the possible pricing of this cruise...
So I spent some time lying in bed doing some cruise math... then I realized that the range prices released so far didn't include certain taxes and fees?
Does this include port charges? Or can I assume the starting price of $1699 included port charges but may be upped by only a few $$ by other fees?
Anyhoo- my math led me to think that there is no way we are going to see a quote of less than $8500 for 2A & 2K in a Cat. 6.
My fingers are crossed that we will get the 10% onboard booking discount transferred but that is 10% off just the cruise price without port charges and fees, right? so on $8500, it might only be a discound of say...$620?

Guess I will know after tomorrow! Then maybe I can sleep better too!

Not a country/western fan either despite my current residence! We have one of the BIG rodeos here every year, never seen so many Wrangler jeans and cowboy boots! It is like a uniform! And the belt buckles!

I will be quite happy at 80's night.. In fact, I have a great story about my recent cruise's 80's night... Tell later...

Low 19*
I think I need to go to Anchorage to warm up...
Acutally that 27* is up from all last week.
Fortunately we get awesome spring & fall seasons, and the summers are near perfect!

So, wish I could chat more but I have to, well, you know, do all that other stuff I should be doing besides !

I am going to sleep like a baby Getting up in the morning is the hard part for me BUT I have my secret weapon...the 4th member of our party lives on the East Coast and gets up at 0530 every morning for work She's going to call me when she gets in to make sure I'm up and at the ready

OK, everybody, I have to share something with you. Most of you know that I am a moderator on the cruise boards. I sometimes need to slip my mod hat on and take care of business. When I do this, I don't want you to think that I am lecturing or upset. It's just part of the job that I have here on the boards. After making my point, I will go right back to the business of having fun & planing what I hope is going to be a great cruise that we will all get resies for tomorrow.

That said, there is no reason to bring something that happens on another board onto the DIS here in our meets thread or elsewhere on the boards. This also goes for issues you may experience on other threads on the DIS. Anyone from our last cruise group can tell you that I think consistancy is important. If a hot topic on a thread has been closed, please do not move the debate here. (Just adding that in as an FYI, not because it has happened.) The fact is that there will be other groups onboard the repo cruise...some we will know about and some we wont. Everyone has the same right to be there. It is a big ship, relatively speaking, and I do not see any reason for it to ever become an us versus them issue with any group...including the May Repo. We are all going to be spending a lot of money to book this cruise. I doubt that anyone wants to spend two weeks worrying about who they may see on the ship.

OK now...back to having fun.

As far as I know the starting price excluded port fees taxes etc, last time in 2005 they did increase I cannot remember by ow much, but uts more ports and diferent stops this time.

I am normally an upbeat and positive person, but I need to vent...

A good friend will not be sailing with us in 08/08. Although there were many reasons to consider some very recent events on another forum was "the straw that broke the camel's back".

Apparently there are several people from this other forum that will be sailing with us. It is a shame that even after being banned from the DIS Boards there are people who still need to cause trouble.

That's a shame...

... I'm truly sorry to hear that. I have friends on the DIS who were entangled with questionable circumstances too - not to say who was right or wrong - only that it was an unfortunate incident - and hurtful remarks were dropped... needlessly.

I am going to be saving up all my online rewards!!!! Last cruise I hhad close to $300 from all my rewards - (thank you Sunshine for much of it!!!)

Now I have all this time to try to get even more together!!! We were also fortunate to win the next to last BINGO game - so that helped out as well!!!
