When it first came out we were disappointed to her it was in DL. We plan to come out a few days early in 08/08 to visit DL. We have been there once before in 10/02 for 3 days and are looking to go back.

If anyone sets up a pre-cruise meet at DLR, I'll be there. I'll probably be there anyway...

Chuck at AST opened his Cat. 3 suite and had an open house for us on the August 2006 cruise, he is a Class Act, very friendly and great to chat with!!!!!

ITA (oh..sorry....I Totally agree)

Chuck has been very helpful in the past. His last name is Maida and I jokingly refer to him as "Mater".

At the time I had the Cat 1 and he asked if he could bring his cousin to see the suite who was sailing with him at the time. We got a chance to chat and found him to be very genuine person.

You know........Just tossing this idea out there.......

Since we sail on Sunday, I am sure we will all atleast come in on Friday night or so. If many of us are staying at DL resorts or nearby, I wonder if we could get a bus to go together early to the port. Kinda like a preparty.

Wow glad to know we weren't the only ones talking about when we would fly out when it's like only 18 months out. We came up with Saturday.........only the day before. I won't be greedy. I always say Take What You Can Matey.

Oh no....I was about to say we'll be there too...but we usually get deluxe passes, and this would be a summer Sat, so we'd be blocked....oh what's a girl to do....justification for a premium I guess..

Gosh, I don't know where my family is going to be LIVING in 6 months...but I do know that if we are on the east coast, I would like to fly out Friday night so we can hang out at DL for a day before boarding.

Last time, my family flew over the morning of the cruise. THIS time, I'm not taking that chance!
But I looked at the cost of the rooms at DL....for just one night, w/o any packages...over $300. Ouch.
I found a place near the port that will transport us, and even run us on their shuttle to COSTCO to get "liquid supplies".

I guessed from the photo your girls were close - my DSs are 6 & 8!
I'd love to do the PhD thing - I've been a adjunct prof. for the last 4 years, I love teaching, just can't make a living without the PhD. I don't think DH & DSs are ready to put up with "student Mom" again so soon. I earned my MA about 2.5 years ago. Our first DCL was my 'thank you' to the family for putting up with me!

It looks like there will be lots of 6 & 8 yos in the group!! My kids are those ages too now.
