Well my folks live in SoCal and although dad is retiring (again ) on Wednesday, he's gonna have to wait for that congradulatory phone call from me! I've got bigger fish to fry!

I'd be up for a bus ride, we'd just have to find a place to drop the rental car. Then again, if they are still there, I doubt mom will be very forgiving of me if we cut her grandson time short by one minute! In fact, she's gonna pull the same stunt as our last cruise--"why don't y'all go and enjoy yourselves and leave the baby with me?" heh heh she's none too pleased that the baby is more traveled at 19 months than she is at *ahem* 60+ years! What did she say about herself and some of the other Nanas at work? "The baby has a passport--but no SSN--and has been to 3 countries! That's more than all of us combined!"

We are totally serious.

Gotta have a head start. It will be great for the kids too. We might have to rely on al you west coasters to tell us the best places to meet once we all figure out when we are coming and where we are staying.

Say, where does the ship embark from? I know it's the Port of LA (San Pedro?) but does anyone know where the terminal is? I think we may just have to dissapoint mom and come to nearby hotel early--or they come and stay the night as well. I tell ya, after waiting this long and making my bp go higher than it should be, I'll be sheep dipped if I'm gonna let that (*&@% traffic on the 55 or 91 delay my arrival to the ship!!!

We need a terminology dictionary here for people just joining the program:
You got pirate lingo stuff which is in itself a dictionary
You have all this groundhog stuff
You have the PC vs PC thing
You have the Geeks, Blabbermouths, Fools, Turkeys, Dancing Banana Heads (Did I get those correct)
You have all those SAHM, SAHD, NAHM, NAHD, ROFLMAO, and others
YOu have all this computer geek abbreviations that I just skim over
You have CC, DD, EB, WB, CM, GC, KW, CZ, PV, OU.......REAS,

I have not gotten compeletely caught up yet - but I hope someone has ALL of these things explained/defined somewhere....

I do know what the SAHD is though.

I can't believe how fast this thread has grown! Is it perchance the rabbit genome thread!?!

I was lurking way back when it was under 10 pages and now it's nearing a gazillion.

Anyway, I'm signing on (with permission of the powers that be and the Cap't, of course) and am anxiously awaiting hearing from DU sometime on Wednesday to hear how much this cruise will bankrupt me! I've yet to tell DS that I'm even contemplating booking us on it, though he did find me watching a special about the Canal the other day and I did have some trouble not blurting it out!

So add us onto the list! One mom and one DS (who will be 12 at the time of the repo cruise).
