RATS!

My window forze up because Internet explorer had to shut down several windows - which happens to me every once in a blue moon...

At any rate...

Congratulations Verandah Man! Youu got it - fair and square...

Sorry, this image is much larger than usual for me - but I thought it was amusing, it depicts a Neopet defeating Mr. Chuckles.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Lets hope we don't waste our whole day and that we all have a good idea by noon.

NO WASTING TIME!!!! We will be investing our energies in giving our families a cruise that will create memories that will last a lifetime! pixiedust:

Last time, my family flew over the morning of the cruise. THIS time, I'm not taking that chance!
But I looked at the cost of the rooms at DL....for just one night, w/o any packages...over $300. Ouch.
I found a place near the port that will transport us, and even run us on their shuttle to COSTCO to get "liquid supplies". ;)

OK, I think I will be looking for somewhere else to stay :scared1: :faint:

ROFLMAO!!!! Maybe you could get the CM's direct extension? :rotfl2:

Now that's a great idea ! Do you happen to know how I can come across such highly classified information?:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Time to do dishes and check on homework just learned TTFN Tina:cool1:

You know........Just tossing this idea out there.......

Since we sail on Sunday, I am sure we will all atleast come in on Friday night or so. If many of us are staying at DL resorts or nearby, I wonder if we could get a bus to go together early to the port. Kinda like a preparty.

I really like this Idea ...I hope maybe some of you are serious cause it would be a great idea ...I am sure of it ..

And dang the Pirate smiliey has moved again ...errrrrrrr

Another group did this for the 2005 repo and it worked out great for them!!!

:thumbsup2 :thanks: Unfortunately, it does lend itself to the multiple booking theories. i.e. "I'll call too even though my TA is calling, then I've got twice the chance of a room."

There should be a way for Disney to limit individuals in quotes. For example, if John Smith of Anytown, USA has quote requests with TA 1 and TA 2. TA 1 gets through first and processes a stateroom reservation for John Smith. If TA 2 then calls in, maybe the DCL rep could say something like "I see John Smith already has a quote/hold in the system for that particular cruise. Please have TA 1 call in if he would like to add on, change or release the existing quote."

This sort of dilemma shall continue for the time being - as it magnifies the effect of demand - and drives the prices forward thus improving margins where demand exisits. They are not going to easily escape offerring two channels to book - individually via direct communication and through a TA. Now if somehow the system cut into margins - then they would probably change the system... right?

We are totally serious.

Gotta have a head start. It will be great for the kids too. We might have to rely on al you west coasters to tell us the best places to meet once we all figure out when we are coming and where we are staying.

I've spent the last hour getting caught up on this thread so excuse me if this all old news:

I need a piano for DD too! She has been taking piano lessons for the last 2 years & practices on a key board. BJ's had the electronic mini-grand that DH wanted to get & it did have the weighted keys, but I still hope to buy a used "real" piano.

.....

Crash: I think it was you that asked about groundhogs? Well with all the speculation about prices, it reminded Judy of the movie Groundhog with Bill Murray. So the running joke was that everytime we saw talk of pricing...we were seeing groundhogs!

Oh & about Norton! :sad2: I had a virus I could not get rid of a few months back so I had to pay Norton an extra 60.00 on top of what I was already paying them to guard my computer. I ended up talking to a gentleman from India & it was so stressful because I could not understand him through his thick accent & me being computer illiterate was just aggravating him. He ended up just going into my computer & taking care of it himself, but that was after hours of dealing with them through emails, phone calls, etc. I now have another virus software & hopefully it will protect my computer better.

This is from the point where I am reading currently as I attempt to catch up = I've noticed that as fast as I'm reading I am NOT getting much closer to where the last posting was made! Arrrgh!

At any rate - here's one where I felt compelled to reply...

1st) Thanks on the Ground Hogs thing. I must have missed the posts which mentioned the reasoning... and I ended up reading all the other ones on groundhogs = and along the way I was beginning to wonder what was REALLY going on cuz there was one reference to female groundhogs being "superior" over male groudhogs - cuz the males were thought of as just good for mating and then getting run over by cars. I was beginning to get a little worried as to where those posters' cabins were gonna be so I could get a little further away with our cabin! <chuckles>

And on the piano thing... from what i can gather - you would be wise to get an acoustic piano versus the fancy electronic ones - as tempting as it is. And - as for how and where... I have not worked that part out yet. Maybe if I discover an "angle" I'll PM you or post publicly. OR... even better... someone "in the know" will chime in and share some secrets and insights!

I love that idea .... and a group rate on rooms!

:pirate: TAKE WHAT YOU CAN

Gosh, I don't know where my family is going to be LIVING in 6 months...but I do know that if we are on the east coast, I would like to fly out Friday night so we can hang out at DL for a day before boarding.

Well my folks live in SoCal and although dad is retiring (again :cloud9:) on Wednesday, he's gonna have to wait for that congradulatory phone call from me! I've got bigger fish to fry! :hyper:

I'd be up for a bus ride, we'd just have to find a place to drop the rental car. Then again, if they are still there, I doubt mom will be very forgiving of me if we cut her grandson:love: time short by one minute! In fact, she's gonna pull the same stunt as our last cruise--"why don't y'all go and enjoy yourselves and leave the baby with me?" :bitelip: heh heh she's none too pleased that the baby is more traveled at 19 months than she is at *ahem* 60+ years! What did she say about herself and some of the other Nanas at work? "The baby has a passport--but no SSN--and has been to 3 countries! That's more than all of us combined!"
