Lunch??? I'm just now getting to breakfast....the time differences never fail to amuse me....even at work on our conference calls, you're always interupting someone' breakfast, lunch or dinner.

:rotfl: You know that Taco Bell Fourth Meal campaign? http://www.fourthmeal.com They made that for me! DW dreads that *smack smack smack* sounds I make because that usually means I'm not hunting for food--even if we only ate 3 hours ago! :thumbsup2

Yeah, your right about that! Duh on me!:rotfl:

I have. So do Pintel and the other guy from Barbosa's crew still turn to skeletons?

I know it's just a movie!

No . Pintel and Regetti do not turn back into skeletons cause at that time the curse had been lifted when all the gold had been returned and the blood spilt ....

Mornin' all! Jusst here for a little while to catch up.
Thanks to all for the congrats on my milestone post.

So does Dsiney Visa offer different rewards to different people?? I've been checking for a week & there are currently no rewards listed on the web site. Are they mad at me because I rack up the points & pay in full 2x a month?? I would really like to have the OBC & 6 months no interest. We're going to Hawaii in 6 weeks!!! That $1,000 was going to come in handy. I think this is the first time ever that I haven't seen the 6-months no interest deal.

I think that deal is all the time?? I've never seen it listed under the rewards that I can remember??:confused3

Stacey----you sure aren't being very "BLABBERMOUTH"ish. Why so quiet?????

You must be kidding! It's all I can do to just READ! You guys are the all-time chattiest....I can't get a word in edge-wise! ;)

I actually turned this baby off yesterday......waiting for that call from IC has me on edge, so I took a step back. I know, it seems silly......I keep trying to say "It's just a cruise for pity sake"........but that's not working!

 Time for me to get back to work people, see y'all later!!!

Please don't say that! My DD won't sail unless we have one!

I managed to get her into a Cat 11 over the holidays but that was for 4 days and trust me, the cost of what I had to buy her eventually outweighed the money I received for the downgrade!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My son will be missing the first week of 8th grade. So far he's been an excellent student and has always been able to make up for lost days. We'll see how 7th grade treats him and if his grades start falling next year, I may rethink the cruise.

Hey I'm willing to offer tutoring services on sea days ;)

As Jar Jar Binks would say.... HOW RUDE!

I've heard that even in new computers it is common practice from some companis to assemble them using some OLD computer parts. I don't know if that is false advertising - but replacing your defective notebook with the SAME one when you were offerred a new one - and under the supervision of their district manager smacks of incompetitant inconsideration!

This reminds me of the time I took my car into a brake and suspension auto repair shop. I explained I had recently had my brakes serviced and there had just been a terrible sound and odd change in how my brakes were performing. Could they check it? Well... a few minutes later the manager called me over to follow him - he wanted to show me what the problem was. The brake caliper had detatched itself from the chassis and was gripped about the disc and flopping back and forth unable to effectively stop the car!!! He said whom-ever had just serviced the brakes messed it up - and he asked who did the work? He had several mechanics staring in amazement at this... maybe they all wanted to witness my revealing who the guilty firm was.

I reached into my posctet and showed them the repair shop was (of course) them! I was not very happy at the moment - and was polite with an edge. I could have been physically hurt by this failure if I had had an emergency stopping situation. The look on thir faces was ashen.... to say the least. They retired a few steps away and naturally said they would stand by their work (how game) and would repair everything properly.

After it was fixed I took the car to another repair shop immediately and explained what had happened.... and would they look over my brakes, please. That deficient repair shop is not in business under the same name - it passed on within a year. However, their repair techs still work ... somewhere. To this day I remember the LOOK of the repair person who originally took care of my brakes!

I imagine everyone has some sort of story where they were the recipient of shoddy service or something similar. And if not... then your number is still coming up! <chuckles>

In conclusion on your original point... I had a Dell under a 3 year year extended warrenty. With less then 2 months to go til the extended warrenty epired I sent my notebook back to DELL for an odd intermittant repair. THeir service person called back to explain my notebook was unrepairable... so they were going to replace my nearly 4 year old computer with a new (refurbished) one. I revceived one with every measurable aspect improved excpet for screen resolution. I had their most advanced and highest resolution screen but it was less of a screen compared to the one I turned in. It has performed well for me now for nearly 2 years... no significant physical issues. I am happy with my DELL experience... although I know there are legions of individuals who are unhappy with DELL... as there are legions of individuals who are unhappy with various manufacturers. The trick is however - to buy from a source where there are the smallest number of unhappy customers!!!

WOW!
DW had a similar incident with the brakes on our (then) brand new Honda. We ordered it because she had to have the navigation system ;) And since she (via her dad) knew the managing director of the dealership, they were very accomodating. Anyway about 2 months later there was this odd squeek coming from the brakes. Well she told the service dept about it when she took it in to have the woodgrain kit installed (Honda ran out at the factory and shipped it later). He said they would take a look and off it went. When she got it back about 2 hours later the service guy said the tech looked at the brakes and test drove it but didn't see a problem. It was at this point that DW reached into her purse and asked "How did he examine the brakes if I have the wheel lock here with me?" The service manager's gasp nearly sucked all the air out of the room!

popcorn:: She said the next thing she knew they whisked it it back into a service bay and all 4 wheels came off! Her friend the dealeship manager AND the owner of the automall (he owned all 5 franchise brands at that auto park) came over because there was a note in our file that she was George's friend. Well it turns out that, of course, the brakes were never checked :sad2: but the tech DID road test the car as evidenced by the Taco Bell wrapper left inside! :furious: He got a one week "vacation" for that stunt! :lmao:

The brakes just needed a minor adjustment and were fine after that. But she did get a free wash & detail plus a free lunch at Bennigan's :goodvibes They also sent her a $100 mall gift card for her troubles! :woohoo:

FYI - I got an email from Marla at DU assuring me they will give the OBC/SBC if you transfer your reservation to them by EOD 1/31.

This is great news ...cause with the three rooms we need this should be a total in 800 OBC ...wahoo
