I just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman from All Seasons and got a lot of reassurance for those of us who decided to try to book on our own. According to him, TAs do have their own number to call, but they get busy lines also as there are many TAs booking multiple cruises (obviously). When they get a hold of someone, they have to book each cruise seperately (one at a time) and can not just say "I need X amount of Cat 5, X amount of Cat 10" etc then fill in the blanks. Beings I have not been put on a TA's waitlist yet, I would be at the bottom of their list so I would be the last person they booked for (theoretically). Of course by this time the price could have easily risen, etc, etc. He mentioned one TA in their office being on the phone for about 6 hours

with a CM who took multiple breaks during their call (lunch, etc).
We talked about the rising prices and he likened it to the stock market at opening bell.

Of course he did mention that a big problem last time was people making multiple requests through different TAs.
Hope this is a reassurance to anyone calling on their own. If you already have a ressie number that you are switching from it will make the process much faster and easier.
