My Mom lives in Palm Harbor and I hear that from her all the time !:rotfl2: When it gets to 78 keep some of it for us.:wizard: :wizard:

I always wondered what TTFN meant.:rotfl2: Just never wanted to ask. Thanks Andrew.:)

Acutally, I suspect that after the dust settles, even if it takes until 90 days out when all payments are due, rooms will open up and if we had a less than perfect room, we could likely switch.
Ya think?

Besides, it is the Disney Magic, I think we are all happy to just
TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!

Last E/bound repo I booked a Cat 8 first as I didnt know the cost, later a number of months passed I contacted DU and asked for an upgrade to a CAT 4.

I got that almost immediatly and at the same price difference as on day one, latter I was assigned a stateroom and it was in a nice location.

Yes people cancel out!

Here's a happy thought: The predicted low for Anchorage is 34

:rotfl:

"M" ---34 below zero ?????
Please tell me you guys aren't warmer than us----that really would be global warming, shifted axis or something weird.

For what it's worth, we are getting ready to eat dinner, you guessed it, Chicken, LOL!!! with mac/cheese and green beans.

I'm also starting to get butterflies in my stomach, I can't wait for Wednesday to get here, and be over with already!!!

Hi Diane: Thanks for your imput. It would be a fairly new school .:sad2:

Hi Tina. I understand your dilemma. Our son will be starting high school and by going on the EB repo, he will miss orientation and the first few days of school. We debated long and hard, but feel that scholastically and socially he will be fine. I am going to make sure we have his schedule before we leave and that he knows his way around the school. If possible, I will make contact with each of his teachers and let them know that he will miss the first three days and I will certainly make sure that school leadership is aware of it. I am just going to make sure that I have it as well planned out for him as I possibly can.

Ultimately we view this as a very special opportunity that is worth the effort involved.

WOW!
DW had a similar incident with the brakes on our (then) brand new Honda. We ordered it because she had to have the navigation system ;) And since she (via her dad) knew the managing director of the dealership, they were very accomodating. Anyway about 2 months later there was this odd squeek coming from the brakes. Well she told the service dept about it when she took it in to have the woodgrain kit installed (Honda ran out at the factory and shipped it later). He said they would take a look and off it went. When she got it back about 2 hours later the service guy said the tech looked at the brakes and test drove it but didn't see a problem. It was at this point that DW reached into her purse and asked "How did he examine the brakes if I have the wheel lock here with me?" The service manager's gasp nearly sucked all the air out of the room!

popcorn:: She said the next thing she knew they whisked it it back into a service bay and all 4 wheels came off! Her friend the dealeship manager AND the owner of the automall (he owned all 5 franchise brands at that auto park) came over because there was a note in our file that she was George's friend. Well it turns out that, of course, the brakes were never checked :sad2: but the tech DID road test the car as evidenced by the Taco Bell wrapper left inside! :furious: He got a one week "vacation" for that stunt! :lmao:

The brakes just needed a minor adjustment and were fine after that. But she did get a free wash & detail plus a free lunch at Bennigan's :goodvibes They also sent her a $100 mall gift card for her troubles! :woohoo:

Why is it that almost every mechanic thinks that a woman doesn't know anything about cars? OY! When I was home on a quick break from college I needed to get the car inspected. The only place with an agent was a tire place. :sad2: We were standing near the entrance of the parking lot talking to the manager & the car was driven into a bay & put on the lift. It was at least 200 feet or more from where we were. The manager looks over at the car and says, well to begin with you will need new tires because the tread is worn too badly. I looked right at him & said of course you would say that even though it is impossible for you to inspect them from here, you are a tire store. Give me back my car now or I am going to report you to the state police! The tech hadn't removed the sticker yet so they got it down from the lift & I took it to a gas station down the street. BTW, there was nothing wrong with the tires. ;) My father said that he just about crawled under the pavement. :lmao:

Look what would Disney cruise line be with out Verandah man?

Just another cruise line!!!!!!

I am sure they will accomodate you no need to worry!

Marcy---

There are tons of rooms available at the "put up or shut up" deadline. People wait until then to cancel. We have almost always shifted our rooms to something more centrally located then.

FYI - I got an email from Marla at DU assuring me they will give the OBC/SBC if you transfer your reservation to them by EOD 1/31.

Yes, they have not decided if they are going to extend the offer beyond the 31st or not so the emails will have to be dated 1/31/07. :thumbsup2

I just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman from All Seasons and got a lot of reassurance for those of us who decided to try to book on our own. According to him, TAs do have their own number to call, but they get busy lines also as there are many TAs booking multiple cruises (obviously). When they get a hold of someone, they have to book each cruise seperately (one at a time) and can not just say "I need X amount of Cat 5, X amount of Cat 10" etc then fill in the blanks. Beings I have not been put on a TA's waitlist yet, I would be at the bottom of their list so I would be the last person they booked for (theoretically). Of course by this time the price could have easily risen, etc, etc. He mentioned one TA in their office being on the phone for about 6 hours :scared1: with a CM who took multiple breaks during their call (lunch, etc).

We talked about the rising prices and he likened it to the stock market at opening bell.:rotfl: Of course he did mention that a big problem last time was people making multiple requests through different TAs.

Hope this is a reassurance to anyone calling on their own. If you already have a ressie number that you are switching from it will make the process much faster and easier.:goodvibes

Thanks for posting. It's good to see someone else get the same story. There is no way that the TAs can book huge blocks of rooms. Everybody chill! :)

Andrew DEREK UK---
I always feel bad not knowing if Andrew is your first name or Derek. Is Derek your middle or last name? Want to be more friendly just don't want to call you the wrong name.
