Oye!!! So we were all set to get a Cat 3 stateroom on a cruise this Sept and then I saw the DU banner here on DIS. Followed the link and wow, lookit at the fun time y'all are going to have going through the Canal... Called DW and mentioned it to her and now, she's a raving lunatic!! The new plan is to forgo the cruise and just do the Bahamas or something (Atlantis resort has a new facility?) and join y'all on the Eastern Repo...

So, we booked our first DCL trip on the website but I'm thinking of going through DU. Is it better to call them or use their website's quote system?

I only "get to" cruise again because I agreed to go to Turks and Caicos for a week in June with the hubby. I don't know....that might be torture!! (not!!)

I read somewhere today that DU isn't taking anymore cruise quote requests for cruise starting after April 2008 until February 1st. It appears they are overloaded with requests at the present time.

That is the $200,000,000 question. We understand that DU is no longer speaking to anyone for awhile. At this point since they are shut down you better call yourself on March 1st no just kidding on Wed. like everyone else. You can tranfer it to them later but the problem now is you need to get a room quickly.

I love Atlantis. We go there often.Good idea!!!!

Where in NM are you from? I grew up in El Paso and spent alot of time in NM especially Ruidoso.

I think I've finally gotten caught up - I took notes along the way and now I can't read my writing, but here goes:

1. Toby Keith was GREAT! It was the first night of his new tour " Hookin' Up and Hangin' Out" - we had a blast.
2. It was a lovely 4 this morning, with windchills of -18. It warmed up to a balmy 17. We still have NO SNOW, which is fine with me but is driving the kiddies crazy and now the school board has to figure out how to give us 6 days back for unused snow days.
3. Sprinkles vs. Jimmies - well, I grew up in NYC and we called both rainbow and chocolate sprinkles, sprinkles. DH grew up in Upstate NY and he calls the chocolate ones Jimmies.
4. Pi-cahn vs pee-can - I call it puh-cahn
5. got2travel - we like Deck 5 too - stayed in cabin 5122 in Dec and rebooked same for March 2008 trip (which we won't be taking if we do this one!) I'll take just about any deck to get on this cruise!
6. POC character - better dress me as a boy - duct tape won't help!

Welcome. At this point, noone is taking requests for bookings due to being overloaded. You will have to call DCL on 1/31 with the rest of us and then you can transfer to DU to receive their stateroom credit off.
