That would be the 'real J. R.'. Jim and Jack are good friends, but Johnny (Walker) is my best friend. If I didn't have to shuttle Scrunchy (my nickname for my DD) to swimming class tonight, I'd be having a large glass of JW Black right now. It's been a badddddd day.

Poor Chuck would be devoted to his job. More then now if you can even imagine that !!

o.k I will spill the beans..........last night Chuck was pulled aside and ask starting next year if he wanted to be VP of business development & operations. I can't imagine the stress.............he is happy. 2 promotions within a year...............he would also be 3rd from the top.

WDW was great, but very expensive as we ended up buying into DVC - home resort of AKL villas! Upside is that we are now staying at the Disneyland hotel rather than the HoJo before the cruise & are treating my parents to the "upgrade".

Congrats on joining the DVC family! Bet you can't wait to hear that "Welcome Home!"

We're using our points too, otherwise I doubt we'd be staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

I almost quit my job today. My boss is an add.

My computer died last wednesday and i had no access to the sytem until two days ago (monday) due to the holiday.

Apparently he was complaining to me that it was my fault that i was a week late (ie 7 days) on the projects i had due that day.

UGGGGGG!!!!

Actually it was only 2 business days since i have no access to the building on holidays or weekends (again he says that's my fault.)

Double UGGGGGG!!!!

I was so mad i was shaking.....

I almost have to quit because my next person up the management chain is best friends with my boss.

Time to re-type the old resume i guess...Maybe re-build some bridges....

I've already left a job because my new boss was terrible. If I knew that I could go up the chain of command to find someone who had my back, I would have been OK. Problem was that the next person up should never have been promoted to that position anyway, and really didn't care about anyone who worked for her. It all worked out for the best for me in the end. Sending you best wishes that everything works out well for you too!

I feel for you. I was basically having the same kind of week. I was also very close to quiting. I finally went to one of the supervisors who I have worked with for almost 8 years. Not sure it will help, but she is superior to the person I am having the problem with. Don't you just hate office politics?

Well, if it is any consolation, you cheered me up because my day wasn't as bad as yours...

Seems like job troubles are everywhere. We've been in 'zombie' mode for some time expecting the hammer to fall on our project and we're finally getting word this week our project budget for 2008 is $0.00. So it's either get shifted to another underfunded project for a company losing money left and right, find another job internally, or be shown the door.

I am hoping they settle it this week because I'd like to just take some time off, enjoy the holidays and then hit the pavement for a new job after the First.

We'd really have to cut the budget hard, which will impact all our kids' high-dollar afterschool activities (swimming, gymnastics, soccer, etc.). I've realized my 'kids' expenses are over $700 a month!

Yes they're the worst.... Hmmm what's worse is that my boss does not do my job and his boss (the division director) knows even less of our day-to-day. I looked up our grievence procedures and i think it turns out that i can't even complain to HR (due to the department i'm in) and the guy who is our county manager is an ex-marine (No offense to any ex's BTW) who fires people now and asks questions later....NICE...

Well on a good note though is that my old company opened an office here in Frederick and i am on good terms with the peeps who transferred up here.

At least i can say i have experience dealing with our county.

I really mostly left my old job to have my surgery anyway. (which was in February) So with that behind me, i guess i could move on easier if i had to.

And if i went back to my old company, i know they would work with me to get enough vaca for TOAL. (since i had almost 5 years seniority there anyway) Anyone who has 5 years in gets 3 weeks of vaca per year.

Hmmm i'm really gonna have to think hard on this one.
