And on a happier note this was your 1000th post on our thread. :cool1: :cool1:

Darn i need your friends realllllly bad.

I almost quit my job today. My boss is an add.

My computer died last wednesday and i had no access to the sytem until two days ago (monday) due to the holiday.

Apparently he was complaining to me that it was my fault that i was a week late (ie 7 days) on the projects i had due that day.

UGGGGGG!!!!

Actually it was only 2 business days since i have no access to the building on holidays or weekends (again he says that's my fault.)

Double UGGGGGG!!!!

I was so mad i was shaking.....:sad2:

I almost have to quit because my next person up the management chain is best friends with my boss.

Time to re-type the old resume i guess...Maybe re-build some bridges....

Kristina I am sooo sorrry for you.:sad2: I feel the aggravation in your words. Things will work out and you will find someone who appreciates your talent.
DH hates the politics at his company too!!! Companies have no loyalty to their employees anymore. We only have 1499 more days til he retires.:cheer2: We just need the insurance.

Letters would be ok BUT NO IMAGES PLEASE!!!!! (specially like those ones Crash got edited on)

I missed them!!!!

I haven't forgotten you've invited me around for a drink. I just need to find a night when I am not racing home (or rather, on I-355, puttering home) to shuttle a kid somewhere.

That would be great or you could stop over when you are stuck in a snowstorm on the way home from work.:rotfl2:

Thanx Tom, will do. ;)

I guess my multi quote was not working. Congrats on the great news and no doctor for six months.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Folks, I think we've created a graphic posting monster

Love ya Cheryl

Yep I am that monster!!!! :lmao: :lmao: Thanks but don't tell DH. He will know I have way too much time on my hands.;)

Well, if it is any consolation, you cheered me up because my day wasn't as bad as yours... :lmao:

Seems like job troubles are everywhere. We've been in 'zombie' mode for some time expecting the hammer to fall on our project and we're finally getting word this week our project budget for 2008 is $0.00. So it's either get shifted to another underfunded project for a company losing money left and right, find another job internally, or be shown the door.

I am hoping they settle it this week because I'd like to just take some time off, enjoy the holidays and then hit the pavement for a new job after the First.

We'd really have to cut the budget hard, which will impact all our kids' high-dollar afterschool activities (swimming, gymnastics, soccer, etc.). I've realized my 'kids' expenses are over $700 a month!

Maybe internal job is better than none.:confused3 I heard it is easier to find a job when you still have one.:flower3:

Dirty Ethel Kidd - AKA Kristina...

... I am so sorry to hear of this circumstance. I understand too well the politics and cronyism of the business world. Without naming names - for diplomatic reasons - I know of folks who are well known to me and have often complained of office politics. They have managers exercising unfair preference for some employees as opposed to recognizing merit and achievement. It seems so unfair - and in some cases - it is so destructive to a working environment.

May I offer a suggestion Kristina? An old adage comes to mind that I do believe should apply here: Things are often not as bad as they seem when times seem difficult... and conversely, things are often not as SWEET as they seem when times are GOOD. Sometimes it's worth considering that to continue on as if nothing had happened is a worth while consideration. IE, lets ignore the ADD dummy who is the complaining boss. The "rise" they get out of you is actually what "feeds" them. DENY THEM the satisfaction of getting at you. And motor on while you patiently and calmly review your resume. I think it is a good idea to always have your eye open for a better job or employer - no matter WHAT your situation is. Good or Bad... cozy or questionable.

OK... enuf of the dribble. Just know we care for your well being here. Things will get better. You'll see... please be patient and look towards the better day over the horizon!

Look what my Secret Mickey / Minnie sent me! I got this while we in boston - but I waited until now because I had misplaced my camera and wanted to shoot pictures! Well... I found my camera so we opened the package tonite!

Those were quite some photos. Funny thing is, arson is considered a "sex crime" while rape is considered a violent crime. If you think about it, the rapist wants physical domination over the victim. The arsonist is often trying to be the hero and endear himself (90% men) to women.

Using that logic, I would tend to think the "doesn't like rich people" motivation is unlikely. Not sure if that should make you feel any better about the situation.

tmpl3fire.gif

Now this is going back 3 or so days - but this is just me trying to catch up.

So - on the Malibu fires... It seems they are investigating whether campers or someone in a camp ground started the fire.

And as for ARSONISTS and thier motives. I would NOT have considered it a physical domination thing. I am no criminologist - or psychologist - but offhand I would have assumed being an Asronist was - like - a destructive thing - or a more simplistic presumption is they have some kind of obsession with fire.

Now on the idea of dislike for for folks with more money... gee... I don't know know whether I agree or disagree with that idea. I think it's all relative. I have a lot less moola then some and a little more then others. And every American is about the top 99th percetile in the world population. So does that make every American a potential vicitm of arsonists from all over the world? OK... I'm getting silly now...

Here are a couple pix taken within the last couple of hours... the best yet showing the new baby being carried by Julianna or myself.

... he is SOOOOO charming a critter!

happy.gif

OK....

... now I know I must be certifiable since I'm quoting myself just so I can see these happy pictures again - and to mark where I left off while working my ways backwards to catch up. Ahhhh.... so there WAS a reason for quoting myself after all!

SO - I'm turning in now - anyone up for a friendly sprint? It's only 871 postings to the next 82,000th posting?!

Oh well... I didn't think so either.

TTFN!

I was lucky enough to work for myself for the last 20 years of my work life, working for a boss is not all it's cracked up to be.

Hope you will find something soon. Chin up, people can be unusual. For every good person there's their opposite. Bring's to mind a superman comic I read as a kid. Some where out there is your boss's opposite, good luck finding him.

:grouphug:  pixiedust: and prayers to everyone who is going to need it today...

Have a great Thursday.

Kristina,

Sending :wizard: and :grouphug: your way, trusting today, is a better day, for you!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Good morning everyone!

Kristina sorry to hear about the job. Working in county government too, I really understand. I have a new boss that doesn't have a clue what she is doing. Not to mention that elected officials hire people for all kinds of reasons, not those who are really qualified. Just think, better things may be on your horizon!:goodvibes

My office, about a year ago (in two weeks it will be exactly a year), had supervisors and security show up in 50 or so offices saying "Your services are no longer needed, please pack your desk, this security officer will escort you out."

Nice holiday present. :confused3 Here's hoping that everything works out!

Ok the past couple of days we have been putting up our xmas decorations.. let me know what you think

WOW.....Liz...the house looks great.

Hugs to all going through job stuff. I'm not too happy with my position right now, but it's not unbearable. I have been in those situations though where your boss knows nothing of what you do and therefore puts unrealistic time lines on you. Hang in there. Something will work out.
