Thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts on our fall at the MK last weekend. I am doing pretty well - my neck is a little stiff still, but as long as I stop every few hours and ice it, I'm pretty much able to do everything I normally do. For those who asked, YES - several people stopped to help us. The people we were immediately behind (they were sitting on the curb waiting for the parade) helped us up and one lady even went and got ice and napkins for us for some quick first-aid. They were very nice and even missed the very beginning of the parade helping us. At the end of the parade, one of them came back over to us (we just stayed put and recovered during the parade - it was a good distraction for DS8!) and gave DS a pin. It is one of the ones that the cast members give people with one to keep and one to pass on.

It looks like we are posting wedding pictures - here are 2 of ours. I may have posted one of these before. DH would NOT be pleased that I was posting one with him - he looks pretty funny with those huge glasses. But they were fairly fashionable back in the late 80's when we got married...

I think I mentioned before that my mother made my dress - she also did my hat (starting with a basic form and basically decorating it).

Pamela (pdarrah)

I'm glad to hear that you weren't more seriously hurt - though whiplash isn't any fun either! I had a case a few years ago after being in a car accident - the car behind me rear-ended me so hard that it pushed me about 15 feet into the car in front of me.

Hard to believe its been almost 10 months since we booked.........and only 9+ months left..........second half is always the hardest to get through!!!!

As said in my post, ( and our PM) The really great thing is the support WEBSITE for this thread, I think the Pirate zone is fantastic, and a quick and easy place to find information. We need it as, now you cannot navigate this thread.

To give an example, I have posted the odd post or two on the '09 thread' its a victim of its own success, people do not wish to look back a couple of pages, on it now, they post as such, rather either start a new thread, or ask the question again, So now I have posted some summaries.

Oh I do agree, don't get me wrong, we have made some great Friends here, maybe my point, in a direct way, is not having a pirate run starting some 400 posts out. Soon it will start as the other one ends.

I think we should just be respectful, that others might fund it very difficult now to navigate this impressive thread.

If any of us See's any new joiners we should direct them as soon as possible to the support Website to ensure we keep hold of them!

Hope I haven't upset anyone by thinking aloud!:teacher:

Hi everyone!

I have to start by saying Friday night (Sat mornign) was a lot of fun! I feel I got to know some of you alot better!

I can understand people being freaked out about how quick this thread moves...yes we have and will have info...but I joined more to chat and meet people (I can poke around on that fabu site or read my super newsletters for all the meaty stuff!-THANKS TOM!)

Congrats Julie on 1,000 thread post! WHOOO HOOO!

We went wedding band shopping and placed our orders.........yes ladies I got me some more blingage!!! (Brendan's isn't that bad either...very classy!)

I love the wedding photos....gets me more excited to have my own! Thanks for sharing them!

Chrissie

Andrew I don't think you're thinking anything we haven't all thought about. I personally feel sad that some people don't join us & may be intimidated by the length of this thread. I know some people even bad mouth us. :guilty: Oh well, I feel sorry for them, because this is truly a great bunch of people & all anyone has to do is jump in & say hi! I personally don't care what group they do or don't belong to as long as they really want to be friendly. You don't even have to be going on this cruise to join in. Just ask some of our regulars that we wouldn't want to ever do without!

It is not important to read back, but join in & read when you can. Like you said, thanks to Tom, the important info is on the website. Look at Liz....she gives us the morning hello & forcast & I think we all appreciate it. Does she join in non-stop? Nope, but who doesn't love Liz's dailies? Not that anyone has to provide daily info, but a quick hello every now & then & maybe a little update on how things are going allows us to get to each other. This thread certainly doesn't need any fluff, since it's darn fluffy enough, but I gotta say I also agree with Chrissie....some of that banter really cracks me up & I'd be sad to see it go completely. :sad1: Sorry I must be in a soap box kind of mood tonight! ;)

Thanks for putting it so well Diane!

Defninitely. :rotfl2:

Our youngest dog, Taiko has a shoe fetish. That is, he collects "loose" shoes in the house (to the point of getting into the closet) and brings them to the dog bed. He never damages them, just collects them - one from a pair, never both. We've also had problems in the past with him charging the door and running off. Though when he escapes now - we stay at home (since chase is the game he most loves) and yell at him to come back. He usually hits the end of the cul-d-sac and returns.

Anyway, one of the boys left the door open this afternoon and Taiko took himself for a run. Since we were busy unpacking from shopping, and getting a late lunch, no one noticed. DH went into the garage and found him, tounge lolling, with a still tied ladies walking shoe in his mouth. So, the questions of the hour were "Is there a little old lady somewhere that he knocked down and stole the shoe from off her foot?" and "To whom do we return this shoe??"

Fortunately, the shoe belonged to the neighbor - who had left the pair on the doorstep. But, he had us worried there for a bit. Well, at least he got some exercise today...

Esteri that story is hysterical! "Is there a little old lady somewhere that he knocked down and stole the shoe from off her foot?" I can just picture it! :lmao:

My dog has a shoe fetish too. She doesn't usually chew them, but she moves them around all the time. I made the mistake of teaching her to fetch my slippers. :sad2: Well she does that, but she'll fetch any shoe for anybody that walks in the door, so we are constanly missing shoes around here!

Thanks for backing me Lorri! :flower3: I'm sometimes I'm afraid I'm going to stick my foot in my mouth when I go to open it. It happens way too often, but I truly mean the best! :goodvibes

Hey Diane, does that foot have a shoe on it................:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What a funny story, but what a fine looking doggie............:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Can't seem to lay my hands on our wedding pictures right now to scan and post. Asked DH if he knew where the wedding picture were and he asked - "Dunno. Were we ever wed?" I'll post them when they turn up. :confused3

BUT - this did remind me that I never posted any pictures from our August WDW vacation. So here are a few from that...

The family (Issac (DS6), George (DH), me, and Jakob (DS10)), one guess where... ;)

:rotfl2: Be careful what you teach them - the creative ones will find 5 more interesting things to do with the trick. :rotfl2:

The odd thing is - we have a basket of shoes by the door. Does he ever teke them from there? Nope. Guess it'd be too easy.

You did a better job capturing my feelings than I did. I deleted my response after working on it for 20 minutes 'cause I couldn't make it right. Thanks! :thumbsup2
