I know it is strange, but I really enjoyed advanced math - stuff like multivariate calculus and non-euclidean geometry were a blast. This probably has something to do with why my bachelor degrees are in physics and mechanical engineering! However, I found the engineering to be pretty dull in the real world - mostly just do the same calculations over and over. I got a masters degree in computer science in night school - I really enjoyed the programming classes and even the theory stuff was pretty fun.

... I met my spouse in college - we were sort of sweethearts in school - and I helped her with some of her writing (something she detested) and she helped me with some of my math. She generally got the better grades though - and she was the one on her high school academic team for math. It was the likes of her which threw tough class curves. Everyone would languish with 10-20% right and she would stand out with 98-100% on the exams.
So - I'm comfortable telling my daughters that girls are expected to be smarter them boys.
