Phew... I simply must find time to get on here more often. I come back and have over 40 pages to read! that takes forever, let me tell ya... (okay I did try a couple of times this past week and everytime I came here, late at night ofcourse, the board had some issue and I got an error page.

)
Anywho...
Monica, I'll be keeping your son in my thoughts! It's so scary to have a child talk about things like that- but I'm so glad he talked to you and that you're getting him the help that he needs before acting on such a thing! {{hugs}}
I was just looking at the
DCL site and all aboard in Acapulco is 1pm!

I am SO not a morning person and can't imagine that there will be much to see or do with such a short amount of time there. I was really looking forward to seeing the cliff divers too.
well that is an extreme bummer! In my opinion we might as well bump that off the ports completely. There isn't a way in the world we can do the things we wanted to- and be back on the ship to leave at 1pm. good grief..
Just bought the M's Halloween costumes. Their costumes are doing double duty - this Halloween and the TOAL. Megan is going to be the pirate Elizabeth Swann and Miranda is the oriental Elizabeth Swann. Did not get the greatest deal, but I got 'em.
Another thing down.
see below
Our pirate costumes are doing double duty too. We are wearing them for
MNSSHP on 11-2 & then for the TOAL! The problem is, I've bought a few things off the internet & I'm not too happy with the quality so far. Some of the stuff I received is very cheap & cheesy looking! I bought a pair of pirate boots that smell like cheap plastic so bad they literally made me nauseous & they weren't inexpensive!
I purchased some things online for the older two- pretty good quality. The only thing is that my son's didn't come with boots or boot covers and I didn't want to pay THAT much for them. I found some at
Walmart but as you can imagine- they aren't great quality and I think they are actually for adults- might be a bit big for him. When I purchased his pirates outfit online, without the boots, I thought he could probably just get away with wearing black boots (like combat looking boots or something- in black.. hard to explain what they look like) but it turns out his pants are like really shorts- they STOP where the boots would be at (really high pirate boots)- they aren't really what I would consider "pants" and clearly you can't wear it without boots.
But anyway, was figuring they'd wear it for Halloween and the TOAL. Rita doesn't want to be a pirate for Halloween but I TRIED to buy her the geisha looking Elizabeth costume from Walmart for her to wear on the TOAL (that's about as far as dressing like a pirate that she would go! She's my princess remember!) but even though it was in their ad- no one around here has them.
Likewise I thought I'd buy the adult costumes for me and Jeff- I got Jeff's and it seems okay. I mean it's not PLASTIC or vinyl atleast... but they didn't have the elizabeth costume. I don't know that Jeff would want to dress up anyway. So I'll probably just take his costume back and go back to my original plan- pirate "themed" shirts for both of us. I already have mine- just need to find him one. *shrugs* I dunno. The kids aren't going to be eating with us anyway- so they'd only be wearing the pirates costumes for the pirate party and that's it. Not sure it's worth the effort really.

I have been thinking of another sea day activity when Mike brought up the Hawaiian shirt contest. Last Christmas, I made pirate maps up with clues on each and hid them around the house. Each map had a clue to where the next map was located. The final prize was a small treasure chest with our tickets to WDW/Wonder trip this summer. The girls thought this was the greatest gift ever, not the trip but the scavenger hunt.
Could we plan our own Pirate Scavenger Hunt on a sea day? Maybe with teams and maps (clues) to where the next map or item was located? With the whole ship at our disposal it could be a lot of fun. I know DCL has there own scavenger hunt, but we could put a pirate twist to it. All of you creative pirates out there can come up with some more ideas for this.

I would be happy to make the maps before we leave.
The scavenger hunt sounds like a great idea to me!
Hey Crash, all you do is complain to the right people.

I now have 3 sets of the new cards and my old cards too.
Who is exactly are the "right people"? Please do tell- still haven't got my cards even after emailing (and receiving conf. that they would be sent) and then calling (and receiving promises that they would be sent). *sigh* This was months and months ago (been 16months since we cruised...)
We are also CC members but as we don't live in the US we don't get membership cards, we have to somehow extract the membership numbers from Disney the old-fashioned way (via email

).
Gifts for our double-dip cruise last Sept were two mesh duffle bags with CC logos, one red and one blue (they are great for pool bags!), antibacterial hand wipes, mini tubes of sunscreen and a handful of other small items which I forget now.
We also got lanyards with pins when we checked in - or was that because we were DVC members? Not sure now.
Wow... those gifts sound great to me. Way better than a beach towel! (atleast in my opinion)
That's awesome about Angelina, Andy!!
Hi Barbara!!
Just a quick check in to say that I'm still hanging in there. I've had a little set back with the healing process and haven't been too happy about any of it, so it's just been easier to stay away then to come and complain.
Okay...truth is, I sleep all darn day.
I think these are minor set backs... but am seeing the doctor tomorrow so that we can implement Plan B. Whatever that is.
Take care everyone!
Hey girlie, I sure have been thinking about you! I'm sorry you haven't been feeling good- I hope you feel better soon! Meanwhile you know how to contact me if you ever feel like complaining. Chat at me sometime.. complaining is okay amongst friends. 'k?
