...tom, ... i'm no good at computering, but i like supporting
whoever, helping others...

i see others disers signed up for this cruise..but not interacting here..

, however, i think all cruises are families driven...so i can
understand...keeping agendas separate....& from my other cruises,
i seen the disers having their fun...say what you want...the people
we saw, were the most polite, best interactors , and added more to
the cruise atmosphere, overall . but i think this is probably one of the
most unusally cruises...for any family, to invest in. we have never
cancelled a cruise but this is a long, long time out. i also got to be a
lil'careful..because my lil'miss is the master planner, & she has this
temper... . , by the behind scenes, except,
i think some have made choices and some do "jumped" on others...
* sometimes..we you see others going out of heir way to avoid you..
it can be just as revealing. i have no problems with others not wanting
to socialize or even to say hello. but it is has been my experience to have
run across some who thought they were "coy"..they are not! again,
its been over whelming those not on this board...

as for me?..i think i'll be going with the "rugby looks", hope it's not
anything too shocking....besides cwearing nuthing, reduces the
things i need to pack, laundry , and sorta leaves lots of room
for starting something....

Super cool!! I have my first tomatos of the summer!!!!

The "early girls" have given me 3 small ones and I have a "roma" ripening along with a "better beef". For some reason I have very happy plants this year!

Lucky you. I've got two Romas in which have been trying to give me tomatoes for weeks, but they're like rotting on the vine. Really weird. And I don't get it. But I sure am unhappy to be throwing out all those tomatoes.

In good news - the plums are almost done. We've got bags of dried plums, and made fruit leather too. DH decided to try making some with Brandy. YUM!!! The last of the plums will go to the Grown Up Plum Brandy fruit leather.

I love this movie!! Cary Elwes is certainly in the running for my free pass as well. He does a great "crazy". Who saw him in Ella Enchanted?

And... the thing that made it tolerable was that I was at least in a charitable fund raiser ride when it happened. I still collected $2,500+ for the charity - and my insurance settlement left me with some money after expenses... nothing really for P&S - but I ended up losing my job (they technically reassigned me to something I would resign from when I returned) ... and since I was between jobs I went to Europe for 3.5 weeks.

OK. I'm looking for the bad part. Pain and suffering. Got that. Still looking for the bad part. Huh. Ya think maybe he planned it so he could go to Europe for 3.5 weeks??

On a side note...I spent some 2-3 hours last night trying to divest my new laptop of the bloatware that it came with. That Mac commercial is sooooo right! I used to build my own computers because (a) it was cheaper and (b) you wouldn't get all the carpware on your system. But I haven't found a way of building my own laptop from components. Even the build-to-order systems ask if you want MS Works or WordPerfect Office etc.

Don't you just hate that? We build our own for the same reason. However, even though I can get the laptop guts (at a discount) from work, building a laptop from scratch is beyond us. Everything is too integrated.

My draft account just got CLEANED OUT by a fraudulant / stolen card - they used the account number of an old gold card that had a bad magnetic strip which I cannot use - and I've replaced it with a platinum card pulling from the same checking account. When they issued the new platinum card I thought the bank cancelled that gold card .... but I guess they did not.

I noticed something wrong on sunday nite when a large transaction showed pending preceeded by a few odd $1 transactions. I routinely check my account - and these transactions immediately stood out. I went in to my local branch today to enquire as to my options on suspicious and/or disputed transactions... they said wait till they complete posting. One of the 3 transactions posted tonite as a FASHION ACCESSORY store in AURORA (NY). I called bank security and they isolated the sale to my old physically non-functional gold card. Odd.. eh?

So - they say when the other $1 transactions post then I can file to investigate and possibly/probably get my money back. Well - they said since the card used was recorded as replaced but not cancelled - and the business on the transaction is in NY while I'm in California - and since I have NOT used this card for several months they are very likely to restore the funds at the conclusion of the investigation. Who knows, eh? This should take only 3-5 buiness days. HOWEVER, If it should exceed 15 (or 10?) days to investigate then they will restore the funds to my account on a provisional basis. I am encouraged with the fortunate circumstances I have in expecting full recovery relatively soon.

They have cancelled my old gold card.

Alicia tells me she just read about how TJ Max and Mervyns recently had TWO YEARS of transaction records stolen! And that the thieves are working their way through the old records to steal from accounts. The article she read said the thieves "ping" the accounts with $1 transactions to see if they are active then go for hits of varying size - sometimes they try to sneak funds out slowly - and other times they go for the whole enchalada.

We've had friends who had large sums in their draft accounts (mid 5 figures and high 4 figures) - and the bank did NOT restore most of the funds. I can't say I know all the circumstances and fine details - but this sort of news makes me much more cautious. I've always maintained relatively small balances as a result of the prior knowledge of problems from friends - and now with this attempted theft - I am glad I worked to keep my balances modest. Doin' so has always been a bit of a chore... but now it may have saved me from risking more.

I think we'll NEVER know exactly how they got my old gold card account number. It is very curious that it was this particular account. However, in the next few days I'm going to have all my account numbers changed and passwords reset on everything. What a pain!

This is NOT the first time we've had account fraud attempted - and I find this continuing activity annoying to say the least! Maybe this news will help you avoid real losses some day.

I'll be traveling while juggling the Queen Latifah and Pagent of the Masters concerts this week along with swim practice and gymnastics ... and so on. Combined with the ongoing repair of my personal notebook - this obviously means I'll have minimal access to the web for a few days. I'll catch up (maybe) next week!

And on another note - I just repaired my external hard drive - WOO HOO - and I'll be combing thorugh my image archieves soon and maybe backing it up to a redundant (RAID) drive... that is once I acquire one! Which I'll be shopping for shortly!

My mom was a total clutz. We always joked that she could trip over the pattern in a rug. Then when I was in high school she tripped over a little crack in our garage and broke her ankle! The concrete was the exact same height on both sides of the crack, so we have no idea how she did it. Even Mom had to laugh at herself!

Strange thing though, she wasn't very coordinated (obviously) but she could jump double dutch jump rope and do a back bend from standing pretty much all of her life. Two things I could never accomplish.

I'm sorry, but he is even more attractive because he's managed to stay with the same wife for 13 years. OK, I'm not a stalker, he got married the day I got engaged (coincidence ), so I know how many years it's been. Then again, what man would divorce a Victoria's Secret model?

Besides the fact that he's totally hot and his voice makes things melt, when I see him interviewed, he just seems like the kind of guy it would be fun to go out and have a beer with.

I told DH that I need to switch organizations and go to work for Habitat for Humanity to increase my chances of meeting him. DH knows all about me and Harry...

You might try adding calcium to the soil. It sounds like you have "end rot" and that is usually due to a calcium definciency. I know that my romas seem to require much more calcium than my other varieties. DH gets some sort of tomato "fertilizer" that is mostly calcium. I have also heard that you can use dried milk or calcium tablets, but we haven't tried that. My father uses crushed egg shells (but that takes a LOT of eggs) and I know someone else who uses bone meal. When I start seeing it on my plants, I remove all the tomatos that have the problem and add calcium - usually, the remaining tomatos and new ones after that are OK.

By "draft" account you mean a credit card connected to a bank account (e.g. Visa Check Card or ATM Visa)?

Word of advice to those out there, check credit card fraud laws in your state. Most states have a limit on your liability for fraudulent credit charges (NJ its $50), but the agreements with the ATM/Check Card are that its a "cash" transaction and the bank doesn't have to give you anything back.

Always safer to transact on-line and other places with a true credit card than one connected to your bank account.

I agree that his devotion to his wife, and the fact that he seems very down to earth is a big part of his appeal......and of course his looks (there's that).....but he's just such a "cool cat" to boot!
