hi everybody
this is my first post on this thread
i am the DD13 of the 4boons
i am hoping to get to know other TEENS who will be on this cruse

:3dglasses

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Taylor. I'm sure she would love to get to know some kids her age going on the cruise. I'll have to set her up with her own user name soon!

Thanks, enough said :sad1:

That is too bad. I guess it pays to sit back sometimes.
In case I miss the discussion in a few weeks- I am all in favor of any personal data we sent originally being used on the website. If I get some weird emails that do not make sense from people I do not even know - so be it. That's a normal day in my inbox anyway. :)

That's why I have my Gmail for things like this. Keeps it away from the everyday email.

Yeah - but then how will I become a gazillionaire from the money I sent the guy in Nigeria? I just know he is wiring me the money any day now.;)

Princess xxxxxxx wrote to me today as well.:lmao:

Its all a great mystery to me too...

I'm a mostly lurker as I find until recently I haven't been able to keep up - its a been a little bit easier in the last few weeks.

However, my main problem is that every evening (NZ time) the DIS has an outage for quite a while, this is during my evening when I tend to catch up - I guess its for a system backup but it really cuts my catch up time...

Also I work away from home frequently and can't access the DIS while I'm out of town so I skip pages of messages so it seems silly to reply to messages when I know if someone replies to my ones I probably won't see it.

Paula
New Zealand

See I am replying to you. :thumbsup2 I want to visit your country someday!!!

Willingly - that's all it has done here since the middle of June is rain. Some parts of the country have had serious floods with related deaths. We had thunder and lightening yesterday as well

David

I guess I would rather have brown grass then flooding.:sad2: I hope the weather gets better soon.:)

I had to Google then, to find out when your "Labor Day" is

Your right though, Labor Day is the day we leave - 3rd of September. We leave our luggage at the Downtown Disney Virgin Atlantic check-in by 11:00 and usually go to a park for a few hours before we make our way to the airport to arrive there by about 16:00.

However, subject to change so we can hopefully meet you and John.

I'm sure you and Helen will speak before then.

We're also hoping to catch Steph et al in that week.

David

Okay I had to ask John what time that really is!!!!:rotfl: Maybe we could meet earlier than the rest I am meeting at Downtown Disney. We were planning the mini meet about 3 or 4 but I will go earlier to see you all.

Wow - When I last posted this morning, I didn't even notice it was my post number
I guess I don't chat all that much, since it has taken me over 3 years to reach this milestone

Pamela (pdarrah)

Congrats Pamela.:goodvibes I guess I talk more than you.:rotfl2:

tom31b - Thanks for the thread summary

Have checked our ressie, still no room assignment or change to early dining. Cartagena & Aruba are still missing from the itinery you see initially, instead showing 4 consecutive at sea days. If however you look at "my cruise plans", both Cartagena & Aruba reappear!!!

micmse2003 - I really wish I could send some rain your way. The daft thing is, it is probably the wrong type of rain so we'll still end up with a hosepipe ban!

Thanks but I will decline the rain if it comes with flooding. The room assignments were given out about 6 weeks before the Med cruises. I have a feeling DCL is in no hurry to give them out.:sad2:

but i've been subscribed to this thread since before dcl was even open for ressies?? i just don't get to post here anywhere near what everyone else does....unless you count a hello every now and then....

Hello is good enough!!:cheer2: Hello Shannon:goodvibes

I am a TOTAL Lurker on this thread. I love the pics and the "banter" among alot of you :)

DH and I are so looking forward to this cruise! 15 nights on the Magic is a Dream Come True!

We went on our first Disney Cruise last Sept (Eastern 7 night) and have been to WDW 4 times. We are planning on spending a couple of nights at D'Land (where I have visited over 50 times) before the cruise with our kids and grandkids, but it will only be the 2 of us on the cruise:love:

Can't wait to meet you all!

Wes & Deanna Treigle

P.S. - How do I go about getting the information on the website?
:welcome: party: :welcome:

Just wanted to post and say hi. I haven't been on the thread in quite some time. I have a cruise this fall that has a fast moving thread like this one and I couldn't keep up with both.

I'm trying to keep up as much as possible here (sorry to have moved into the Lurker stage). I will try to post every so often and then after the cruise this fall, come back daily.

I feel bad because I was getting to know many of you and I think people were getting to know me. Now it is like going from high school to college, the friends just go a different way. I hope to reconnect soon.

Jeff

Jeff we still remember you.:grouphug: Lurkers:tiptoe: , lookers, and learners are always welcome.:yay:

Got access to the website. I must say, very impressive. It keeps the thrill alive.
I am going on my 1st Disney cruise in early Sept. I am getting so excited. I got the Deluxe Passporter when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago. It sure has been fun reading it.

The passporter was my bible for the first cruise.

Good to hear:yay:

How long before you get your energy back? The pamphlet they gave me said it could take weeks:confused3

Everyone has a different healing time. :cloud9: I just took a little more time out in the sun and read a book. I was fortunate and did not burn til my 34th treatment. I had a total of 36. Please feel free to private message me. I could talk easier.

On July 30th, Hazel and I will be in our house 27 years.

Also, our backyard meets up with the backyard of a house that I lived in when I was younger. I'm a hometown boy, but hopefully, that will be changing when I retire.

That is a great Day!!!!! Iwill be ?????? on July 30th.:cheer2:

I like staying at Pop Century and All Star Movies. I have stayed at GF once and Polynesian. I usually stay at the value resort so I can spend my money at Arribas Bros. and World of Disney!!!!!

Karen

I hope you do not think me snobby. :) I just have never stayed at the economy properties. I am definitely for saving money.:woohoo: I will probably love Pop Century except for all the walking. :sad2: Is there a building you like better than another??? Any help is appreciated.

Wow ....I am kinda suprised to see my name come up in question ?? Most people know I am going on the Med Repo in 6 weeks and have been watching that thread , I usally post at least once a day on this thread , but there are times that life and family take more time this thread ..Plus I just got back from Cozumel which we have been planning for a little while ..LOL (always trying to plan a trip to Cozumel ) But you cant disinclude me , Im THE Captain to which I was honored of having the thread named after and I created such a nice Logo and shirt for this cruise ...So , if in doubt always know that I am here but sometimes dont have alot to say.

pirate:

We could never sail without our captain!!!!:scared1:

Gotta bunch of ketchup here - sorry for the mega post

I'm with you on that. DH loves Illuminations. We were going through the different attractions yesterday planing for our August trip. Illuminations was high on his list - despite the fact that we've seen it a bazillion times. I just don't get it. :sad2:

The good news is that DS6 gave "It's a Small World" a "forget it" rating this year - for the first time. :thumbsup2 Interestingly, he want's to do Dumbo, but not the Magic Carpets, or any other similar ride at the other parks. Sigh. I was hoping to avoid the mad dash to Dumbo this year. Hum... Maybe I can distract him with the Indy Speedway...

I have seen Illuminations a bazillion times too!!! What could be more magiacal and beautiful than fireworks over the castle??:confused3

I have to go see Small World (Iwill have that song in my mind for weeks after:sad2: )because I did not see it since it was closed down two years ago.:dance3:

Are we getting too spun up here about making rules for access to the website? As many of us have said many times - the vast majority of us are cool folks who would not abuse the relationships we've built here.

Yes, we've had a bad experience. It's been dealt with. Do we want now want to be so fearful of it happening again that we become restrictive and scare off any newcomers who didn't experience the problem? They will see us as exclusive, and not open to new people.

Remember, the purpose here is to facilitate connecting with others.

No one has said anything in particular, but I'm getting a definite feeling from the board that we're trying to cover for the 1% of the potential problems (and turning off a lot of people) rather than focusing on the 99% of the positives.

JR - as far as I'm concerned. Make up the rules for the website, and we'll abide by them. Those that are uncomfortable can choose not to list their information, or give a limited set. But, if you try to make everyone happy - it's a loosing game.

My two cents.

That is my two cents worth too!!!

Thanks , yeah the plane was bad but the Loratab helped greatly ....LOL

pirate:

And you did not share????:rotfl:

I missed alot of what has been going on around here. I have been reading bits and pieces and just wanted to say, I agree with you 100 %. You can never make everyone happy and I don't think J.R should try. He did most of the work on website and I can only imagine the time that wen't into it. I would follow your rules J.R.:thumbsup2

Another two cents worth and I agree.:thumbsup2

Right now the website has no personal info on it, just planning and such. Everyone needs to step back, enjoy the website for what it is and in a few weeks discuss who wants what information on the site and take it from there. Right now this issue has a number of people reconsidering whether they will be going on the trip, so letting it drop would be best.

JR put in a lot of work and came up with a great site. Lets enjoy it now and expand it later in ways that everyone will be satisfied with.

You said it all Tom!!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes You must be a great lawyer good at summations.(a review of recapitualtion of previously stated facts or statements.:woohoo: ;) :yay: :rolleyes1

Yep, I booked sight unseen. I have been wanting to go on a Panama Canal cruise for years. It has always been a conflict between the M's being too young, school or work schedule. Even though I am concerned I will spontaneously combust from the heat - this one worked.
The funny thing was I had no intention on being a CC member before this cruise but I started seeing threads where people posted at 9:00am that they missed ressies of somekind. People said "you should have been up at 3:00am w/ us". That made me realize what I was up against.;)
Since my parents are going w/ us I talked my mom into going on a quick "qualifying" cruise far enough in advance to get our CC #. Then we talked my sister into coming w/ us. This will be right after she takes her oldest DD to college for the first time. She'll need to get away. She also is a very specialized Dr. and has a very stressful job she could use a break from.

Funny story. Sister calls me to chat and then says "Linda said something to me about my Disney trip". Linda is my sisters TA that we all use. Linda dropped other tickets off to my sister and mentioned the cruise I had booked w/ her for all of us. Then it occurred to me -I never told my sister where we were going - just that I planned a trip and gave her the amount of the trip.
I said "Oops, forgot to tell you I booked a DCL cruise for us". She said "works for me". I love my family!

You're sooo lucky to have such easy going sorts in your family! And in someways you seem precisely as my spouse and I are! How funny... :)

Computer.gif

OK... and in saying you're "up against" some kind of serious cruising enthusiasts - yeah, I'd say there are gonna be some experienced enthusiasts on this voyage - and I imagine the DCL booking engine will be a-buzz n each advance booking window!

I've never stayed at GF or Polynesian, but I hope to some day! My dream is to try AKL concierge so I can do the sunrise safari. Someday......:cloud9:

Ooooh Arribas Bros.! I can't believe how beautiful their designs are. Do you have a collection?

I just started one last year. I have Mickey and Minnie in Swarovski. I am working on getting the Arribas characters(smaller versions that are in the front case, they are colorful and have Swarovski crystals) I have the Swarovski
Mickey and Minnie earrings and bracelet. I am going to try to buy one item a year(if I can save enough money) I have a Disney vacation jar that I put in all my loose change and $1.00 bills in at the end of the week and the day before I leave for Disney and take it out and count to see if I have enough to buy another piece.

I just love that store!! Their is a lady there, her name is Elaine who always helps me when I go in there.

I don't think you are snobby at all. When I stay at Pop Century I always ask for a preferred room usually in the
50's these are close to the food court and to the buses. I have a problem with my knees. I always ask for first floor. They always accomodate me well. I never rent a car when I am down there I use their transportation to and from the airport and to the parks. I rented a car once and all it did was sit in the parking lot.

When I stay at the All Stars Movies it is in the preferred Dalmations or Fantasia. Same as the above.

With going down there 4 and 5 times a year. I get to know alot of the front desk staff and they are always helpful.

I like CB but it is so huge and unless you get a room close to Old Port Royale you will be doing alot of walking. Here I would definitely have to have a car.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Good Morning Everyone:
:welcome: :welcome: to all of the new people that have join us since I have been away. Have a few min. to see what I missed last night.:surfweb:

Yep DD is 13 & doesn't need a B A B Y S I T T E R  but I just prefer to take her & DS to dinner with us while we're in WDW. Our big dinner every trip is CG right now. They love it as much as we do! I'm still not even sure DH would be thrilled with V&A since he is strictly a meat & potatoes guy.
Plus with the prices they are charging...he darn well better be thrilled or at least I can say, "Well it was our anniversary so it was worth it!" :goodvibes

Hi Diane: I forgot you had a DD who is Brooke's age. Any chance of them exchanging emails? Brooke is very shy but it would be so good for her to get to know people now. Belated :bday: to Taylor.:cake: :dance3:

Yeah - but then how will I become a gazillionaire from the money I sent the guy in Nigeria? I just know he is wiring me the money any day now.;)

I always miss the good emails.:rotfl2:

Wow...

... I should try this more often. I went to sleep REALL EARLY (by my standards) last nite. I was soooo tired I don't know WHEN I dropped off... only I think it was before midnite. I'll have to glance back at my last posting time as think it was close to when I went to sleep. After watching the kids all day and driving up - plus the Farmers Market (googled photo above) I was throughly drained last nite. Besides, at our hotel (Embassy suites SLO) they're having a huge classic car club meeting with a "out of the closet" membership... and I might be wrong but there sure are A LOT OF MEN here... and maybe it's my imagination but a few men seem to be looking at me with UNUSUALLY intense looks. As such, I felt like turning in early even though I was safely locked in my room. <chuckles>

RockvilleGourmetHalalMeatMarketProfessional.jpg

Now - don't get me wrong folks... I agree with everyones' right and freedom to be and do what they want to in our glorious world & country, plus I know of some folks who are openly gay who are some of the nicest folks I've known - however, thier particular "orientation" in some matters is just not quite my "cup of tea" is all...

It's 5ish and as I glance about the room here it sure looks as if my kids played bloody havoc with EVERYTHING. My older daughter earned 2 time outs with her conduct - and as such we're gonna have to pick up some before we check out an' leave a "square" gratuity for the staff.

So... anyone have any fun or fancy plans for the weekend? I think this weekend is nominally a "relaxed" schedule for us - as we have little planned. I think all we have is a BBQ with friends - thier first ever BBQ and they've admitted we're to be thier guinea pigs prior to hosting a larger BBQ. We're to be thier only guests in this "experiment". Plus they say we're the first to ever be invited to thier home. This is less surprising in some ways considering they have a near new home AND a 2.5 year old son. As, I can recall some of the overwelming times we had with trying to be productive while taking care of our childs' needs (as we saw fit ... everyone has thier ways of doing things, eh?).

beeman_p8.gif

So... we've got the 1st time BBQ thing (I shared some of my ideas and so-called secrets to perfect BBQ cooking). Then I think if its' gonna be hot - then its' gonna definately be a do little weekend. Certainly I can't see being too ambitious with anything outdoors and in the heat!

So I have no idea what the forecast is - but I bet searing "dangerous" heat is a part of it. We're still shopping for things to do in the year remaining... IE, travel planning. Oh, and I might have somemildly good news to share - which I'll get into during chat tonight. I think we're trying to enable/make it to our older girls gymanastics class. So - following that I'll meet up with anyone still hanging around - say near 7:30-8PM California time.
