How bad is Mt. Everest for two aging mouseketeers:confused3 :confused3 We do have a little heart and back problems but Is it similar to Runaway Railroad??? Maybe WDW is saving all the Magical Moments we I get down there!!!:woohoo:

Expedition Everest was pretty cool (kids made us ride it three times in row the other morning). Its not a "jarring" coaster that tries to shake you about, more of the curves and "g-force" stuff.

DW says 1/2 of the excitement is from the Disney engineered story surprises as opposed to the physics.

All that said, it is pretty intense overall. I would compare it to the Runaway Railroad but smoother (less tossing about).

The Visa thing was just because neither of us thought about it at all. We usually pay it online with our bank's online bill pay (also Chase - same as Disney Visa) and could have set it up to pay automatically, it just never occured to us! We still get paper statements. Anyway ... we learned something that will come in useful next year - we'll be checking for all the bills before we leave!

Pamela (pdarrah)

I would call and ask them to reverse any late/interest charges (providing you paid promptly on return) and they usually will (as long as you are a good customer). If they say no, be insistent.

Hey all! Hope everyone has a great day. It's already hot and huggy here, yuck!

Cheryl, I PM'ed you.

Tom glad to see you and your family are having a fun time in WDW. Any dream team things happen to you yet?

Hi Everyone! I'm late to join this thread, but we are also on this cruise, myself, DH and 10 year old b/g twins. I know this sounds lame, but I just can't read 65,000 posts to catch up! I noticed for the last repo someone started a bimonthly e-mail newsletter with info on excursions, etc. that you needed to sign up to receive. Is there anything like that for this repo? Or another (shorter) thread with cruise info? Thanks much! -Maggie

Really like it here except those...............17 year bugs. It is so freaking out my DD.

They're only bad for a week or so until the birds remember that they taste good.... Then you'll only see a few shells here and there...

We had those the second year we lived in DC area. We never had them as far north as Philly. I think i would remember that even if i was only 12-13 years old. I guess they phase in 17 yrs differently if Chicago has them now.

I can remember going down the GW Parkway to National Aiport for a trip to FL and ewww they were everywhere.:scared1:

Hi Maggie.

I would recommend that you read post number 1, has all of this info plus a bunch of summaries of the posts, complete with links. There will be a secure website and registration info is on first page. Most of the info now (14 months out) is historical not much current material that can be certain for next August.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks Tom! I hadn't realized that the first post had been changed since I looked at it ages ago! That is just what I was looking for!

Hi Everyone!

Glad to see we have some newbies joining us! Welcome Aboard!!!!

It is sweltering hot here in SE VA. I just left a clients house that has their A/C broken. Not a fun day for them or their pups. I offered to take them overnite if they can't get it fixed today.

Pamela - it sounds like you had a great time at WDW. The longest I've spent there was 10 days and it was great. Part of the time I had a friend who stayed with me and them I was on my own. I always met interesting people and had a blast and really never felt alone.

I am trying to find a cheap air rate to go down before my usual trip in November and December. No luck yet but I am working on it. I am going thru DIS withdrawel!!!
Thank God for the Disboards!!!

Hope everyone stays cool today and talk to you later!!!

Karen

PM me and remind me to post instructions when I return (or use the time tested alternative of "If I had a freak flag it would be (fill in colors here) with (stuff that should be on it) on it" and Crash will look up the graphics and Roger or I would likely play some photoshop or similiar.....(of course, both Roger and I are playing at WDW right now....)

Hi Maggie and all!

DH and I are bringing DD's 10, 9 and 9 (g/g twins!) We haven't told any of them yet about this super duper trip. All that they know is that we are planning a trip to California and DL (which was true even before we booked the PC Cruise!). We aren't sure when or how to tell them. We are thinking maybe as a Christmas present!

Anyway, welcome to Maggie! This is a busy thread and everyone here is really friendly. ---Is that why it's so busy!?!?!?:rotfl2:
I can't keep up with all the posts, but I just had to say HI!

We were on the South Carib. 11-night last Sept. That was our first cruise. Not first Disney Cruise, First Cruise EVER, so we are hooked now! What a wonderful way to start!

We've got a whole gaggle of kids in the 9-12 (at time of cruise) age bracket it seems.

My kids have started asking about whether there are other kids going.

Of course my DS7 has been wondering how I know people that will be on our cruise even though we've never met them. We were sitting poolside at WLV and I was explaining to wife that the week we normally come to WDW (last in August) seems to be most popular amongst the TOAL wenches and swabbies when DS7 asks how I know that they are on the cruise, coming to WDW and planning a party at this very pool.... Of course I just told him I know everything and he better behave when I'm not looking....

I couldn't figure out how to do layers on Photoshop, so I used Publisher. My sister is going to try to fix it for me as the clipart is blurry.

But I like Tom's idea!!

Julie I also tried for 14 of us!!! :confused3 I was just wondering if it is going to happen.:confused3 If there is a drop out on my list, I will let you know!!! :flower3: I would love to add you but I hear the max is 14!!!! I always felt the more the merrier.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Cheryl -- let me know if you get any cancellations . . . I'm sure they have the limit due either to space requirements in the private room or total number of people they can accommodate at Palo's . . .

Welcome, Maggie! I have a 10 year old girl who will be on this cruise, so I'm sure our kids will meet up . . . hopefully all the info you need is on the first post, but if not, don't hesitate to ask.

Yes, the private room can hold only 14 people around the table and there is only room for one table. Here is a picture from December 2006 when our pal Mary Ann (magiroux) arranged for all of us to eat there. I'm the good looking guy in the picture and SWMBO is next to me, and actually smiling. :rotfl:

We just got home a little over a week ago - and I totally agree, the shops were FULL of Pirate Wear! We bought a flag to take with us on the TOAL (someone posted a photo a couple pages back of the same flag) and DS8 bought the pirate Mickey ears and pirate Crocs. We also got some pirate Jibbets to put in his regular crocs.
