Of course you could be like me, I'm taking tomorrow off, so on the way home tonight I was thinking I would rush back from DS9's Scout meeting and jump into chat a few minutes early.....

Yep nothing like an Irish wake to bring out the impropriety! Really my mother didn't want anything at all so we are just having a small graveside service, but after we are all meeting at my DB's house. We've ordered cold cut plates, pans of baked ziti, pans of sausage peppers & onions, rolls, salads, desserts & of course beer. Lots & lots of beer! Gotta love the Irish!

An Irish wake is my favorite kind of wake!! Booze, fights, smokes, hey wait, doesn't that also sound like your wedding Diane?? We could make our own movie "My Big Fat Irish Wedding" with the sequel to follow "My Big Fat Irish Wake"

Did you ever see Waking Ned Devine??? Truly one of the funniest movies I have ever seen in my entire life! If any of you haven't seen it, you should rent it. Even kids can watch it although there is a old man naked butt scene.

Wow Diane my family is exactly the same way! Must be the Irish in us is right! I always think of it as a way to release the tension, but sometimes I'm just inappropriate (what??? who me??? inappropriate?? NEVER)

You know my family doesn't drink much when someone passes, but we sure do eat a lot. Everyone we know and even people we don't know bring piles of food and it would just be rude not to eat it right? I remember after my Mom died, my sister and I sat at the table working on the plans for the service and managed to eat an entire pan of brownies just by picking off a piece at time. We looked at each other and couldn't believe that we devoured the entire 9 X 13 pan all by ourselves. I guess it was the ultimate comfort food at that moment. We still laugh about it today!

I heard about this earlier today - I am SO EXCITED and am already planning my trip! My only sorrow is that it isn't being done in partnership with Disney, who I think could of really made it special.

My son Tyreak and I will be down August 22- September 4.

As much as I loved POTC AWE, I'm starting to wish the released date was later. My students graduate next Friday.(Kindergarten) Our themes are Believe in yourself and friendship. There's a part in the program where they announce what they want to be when they grow up.

For that last month or two I've had doctors, social workers, teachers, soldiers, ... Well today I had 8 pirates. One little girl said she wants to be a captain. When I asked why, she shrugged and said "Because I'll get to tell all the pirates what to do."

If that wasn't bad enough, they've decided they don't want to sing You've Got A Friend In Me. I made the mistake of playing my Wishes CD during rest time on Monday. Now they want to sing Wishes. According to them, the Toy Story song is for little kids.

Ah yes Mary, one of the more effective uses for the beloved Freak Flag! Though these days, my just breathing embarrasses the STs! So of course I do nothing better than playing with their heads. When I dropped Taryn off at her friend's house for the Senior Trip I hugged and kisses each one of the friends and told them each, no boys, drinking, stealing or drugs! Geez if the ground could've opened up Taryn would have jumped right in. I love these get-even moments
