My DS8 doesn't sleep much, never has. He gets up at 3-4 am and because we have a parental lock, he can only watch infomercials! It is great to be greeted in the morning with a litany of things we have to buy. He can usually rattle off the selling points and the price! "Three easy installments of..."

My DS9 has figured out that "Three easy installments of" means "they are trying to fool you and make it seem cheap" but we still have to have everything.

Good Wednesday Morning all. Half way there.

It's been a busy week so far. My mgt shift was effective this Monday. So lots of meetings to get the new guy caught up on what is going on here. I'm also trying to fill my open position. Boy, hiring sucks. People want the six-figure salary, title and bonus but don't want to do anything to earn it. I need a Dole Whip.

Boards have been a bit slow over the past few days. I could not get on at all last night.

Andy - glad to see your are getting to do a cruise. I was torn between a 3-day on the Wonder or the Parks for Jersey Week in Nov. I decided to take my nephew to WDW for the long weekend so the DB and D-SIL can celebrate their 10 year Anniv. (Besides, I thought it was mantatory we all leave the State so that the TP and GSP can be repaved. )

Brack - I hope you are feeling better. It sounds like you have what is going around here.

MR - glad CC called you regarding the unauthorized purchases.

My ST goes until the 15th of June..... and we go back the week before labor day. Summer keeps getting shorter and shorter.

Wanna here something weird. DD is signed up for color guard in the HS marching band next year. We attended a parents meeting last week and the kids actually have to start practice tomorrow night (3 hrs a week for the first two weeks and then once a week until band camp starts.
They have a 3 day camp first week of June (4hrs each night).
Another 3 day camp mid-July (12hrs each day) Yes you read correctly TWELVE HOURS EACH DAY.
Then the official 10 day camp is first two weeks of August. Also 12 hrs every day except for the 2 Fridays (only 8 hrs those days)

But it will keep her off the streets....

that is a full schedule. Sounds like football.. DS#2 has football and weights starting from June 11th every afternoon from 12:30 - 4 then starting August 6 has football practice from 9-6. DS#1 has cross country running at 6 am until 8:30 am every morning all summer long including staturdays. Seems like once they hit high school the days of lazy summers are over

Today some stupid add bought an $800 digital camera on my MC! Thank Goodness CircuitCity online called me to ask if I had made the purchase. I then canceled my card and no other charges went through. If CircuitCity hadn't called me who knows how extensive the damage could have been before I noticed.

And so, how are all of you this fine evening!

Good morning everyone! Grey morning here and rain is on the way. My sinuses are nasty this morning.

DD's choir has a concert tonight. Should be good. They are doing "We're All in this Together" from HSM. Friday are auditions for the Ensemble group. DD wants to try out. I heard a lot of kids were going to drop out at the end of the year, because it is to much of a committment. But then I heard that 40 kids want to try out for Ensemble and there are only 24 spots. Who knows! DD enjoys it. Just next year, we will try to schedule dance classes on the opposite days from choir practice.

There was a lot of excitment at work this week. The "Moves" came out. "Moves" are when some of the Officer's are transferred to another appointment. The ones in May are usually the larger number of moves. We call it the "Spring-time" of The Salvation Army.

Last summer DD attended summer camp at our local Salvation Army. When I told her I signed her up, she started crying and said she didn't want to go into the army! I told her it wasn't that kind of army. She had a great time and the cost was so reasonable compared to the YMCA. She did become a pool shark! They had a pool table and that was the big attraction. They also went on a field trip every week. She did end up liking it and really got into VBS week. I liked that there were more mature adults there than the YMCA employes.

have you used the auto train before? If so, did you - and did the kids - enjoy it? Have considered it in the past - thought it would be a nice experience.

Yes!

We've used the auto train about 8 times now. Have been driving recently to WDW. DW does not fly. The kids just love it. They think it's an adventure. We usually get the family room. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids. My wife loves it too. She likes to read and relax, and she doesn't get to fly. I'm ok with it. It take just as long to get there by train as it is to drive, less wear and tear on the car plus your not driving for 20 hours.

We drive to Va. Board. Arrive in Fl. 1 hour north of WDW. Not bad. Takes a 24 hour period for us. I still rather fly.

Angelina announced last night that she didn't want to go on her Senior Trip next year. Our high school goes to WDW and Angelina said she isn't really interested in going, as she only has a few close friends, and none of them are going either. So, she then asks if we can take a 4 day cruise on the Wonder instead. Well, guess what I have been doing during my free time.......

Looking to see what is available, this coming November, when the ST is off from school for NJ Teacher's Convention. It's not a 15 day cruise, but at least it is something!!!

I'm glad for you. It's fun planning a trip. Is you mom going also? Let us know how your plans go. Maybe I can talk my wife into a 4 day in November without the kids and we'll join you.
