I'll be sure to post a "MBT report" when they come in...

... or rather I'll see about getting my spouse to post something with her own finger tips typing fer a change.

HHHHHMMMMM…see, more justification for DISing at work! I’m really networking!
CJS Todd is a fundraiser – J.R. is a n-p web designer!.

I too have been known to do significant fundraising for charity (spent a few years volunteering for an organization known as the Sunshine Foundation and have been volunteer firefighter for 24 years)

I don’t recall anyone referring to you as “genius”
NIWTLIVE is more like it!

Is it just me or when you see NIWTLIVE do you think Nitwit Live?

M? Oh, M!! Look what I found on another thread...

On my last trip, I found out through another guest that you can get a character to come to your room and give you an hour back massage. It was a lot of fun. I chose Belle from beauty and the beast and my wife chose Goofy. It was a lot of fun, and the back rub was pretty good.

It cost $65 for the hour, plus tip. I highly recommend it.

Can you say, "Hello, Please send Prince Eric over for a back massage??""

(I'd post the URL to the thread, but I haven't figured out how to insert it. Is it just a regular copy paste from the IE bar at the top? somehow that doesn't seem right. Someone clue me in and I'll edit this post.)

This sounds suspiciously like some of the nonsense I used to post about getting a "character" to do an in-room massage! <chuckles>

I'll have to see about reserving a session with Jessica....

Jessica%20Rabbit.JPG

Not sure what my spouse will have to say about that though...

And with comments like that we'll have to jump in front of his wife JUST to get the OPPORTUNITY to hog-tie him before she does it. ;) Course, we could all take turns in distracting her and appoint those with stronger ambitions to do the honors????? :rotfl2: (OK - y'all - take turns lining up for the OPPORTUNITY - no fighting in line - we are all civilized adults! :lmao: )

I'm starting the list, send me $10 and I will add your name to the list of those in front of his wife....

Hey JR, I'll split the proceeds with you, should pay for TOAL:lmao:

Needless to say, it's been a very long day, here is what Angelina's English teacher wrote in the program booklet.

"I have known Angelina through her experience with the morning announcements and in my English III class. She continually impresses me with her maturity and the value she places on education. Angelina is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and I'm sure she will be successful in all her pursuits."

You must be very proud Andy. Congratulations Angelina! :cheer2:

Tom, if we were to wait until we debated every single decision for our children until we were ABSOLUTELY SURE about what was THE right choice...the poor kids would never get out of the crib. ;)

AS dh says *It's a wonder the first ones live.*. ;) We do our best, pray and then the rest is a cr*p shoot.....

Ok so I'm quoting myself - too long and too detailed to retype.

Ok all - here's what's been happening.

1. Scary home situation still on hold. I'm playing ostrich in the hopes that things aren't really happening. :)

2. Came home from dinner last night to find that our 'girls' had escaped their cell (backyard) and were runnig loose. Luckily, someone happened to hear them in their yards and went out to investigate. Isis (our B&W) husky came into their yard because she'd seen their cat. Chloe - our white husky - is a follower and clumsy as heck so SHE ran into their trashcan and knocked it over. Well, they recognized them from DD and I walking them periodically and knew they were local so even though they look intimidating - she took a chance and tried to catch them. They both had their collars on but it took a while. Eventually they rounded them up and took them inside. They WONDERFUL people put their own dogs in the back (theirs are inside dogs too) and allowed my "brats" ( ) to stay inside. Once they were inside - they went directly to the dogs blankets and laid down. Chloe was the first to allow them to pet her and that was when they got a chance to read the tags. Because it was late - they didn't catch our address on the tag but did a reverse phone number lookup and caught our address that way. Amazingly - they'd been out for about a 1/2 hr. The lady said that they were very skittish and scared and their hearts were really pounding but once inside they settled down - well the white one did - Isis - would just pace but would settle down long enough to be spoken and head patted only. Chloe would lie down and roll over to have her tummy scratched along with her neck. That Dog is a sucker for neck rubs. She's easily bought!

Anyway, since we got back late, I was scared to see this person standing inf front of DH's car wearing a black hoodie and 'casing' out the house but it turns out that my angel was just leaving an additional note telling us where to find the dogs. Bless her heart. Her house is on the corner of a MAJOR HEAVILY TRAVELED THOROUGHFARE! We were extremely lucky that they weren't run over. I know exactly what happened/ Isis broke through our very old wooden gate and the rope holding it together busted. She took off and Chloe followed. Even though they are micro-chipped. These dogs rarely are turned back in. In fact, there has been a rash of husky-napping around here. So I consider myself extremely blessed that my girls are back home! THANK YOU GOD! AND MY GIRLS ANGEL!

Now I really must do something good for them. I was thinking some kind of fruit basket or something like that - would do you guys think? I didn't even think about a reward but I did ask her what I could do to thank her. Her response - do something nice for someone else. What a lady I tell you. And a wonderful experience in meeting a new/old neighbor. She's lived there for years but out here -if your more than 2 houses away - we're basically all strangers. She said that while she was scared to approach them she had a hunch they were inside dogs as Chloes coat was too white and shiny to look like they were outside dogs.

3. I have signed on to do the WB Transatlantic Repo cruise. :woohoo: :woohoo: I was 'informed' this morning by a friend that she managed to book some of the last cat 12's that went on special. I thought about this, checked with DH and DD14 about going. While DD wasn't happy - she said - go ahead. I know you need time away. DH said that if this is what I want to do then I should go ahead as we may never have another year like the kind we're having. VERY BUSY at work. HHHMMMM...wonder if he is just trying to get me out of his hair? Oh who cares - as long as I get to visit some of my childhood longings. I always thought it would be nice to visit the rock of Gilbralter. Now, I'm going to get the chance.

I've always wanted to see it ever since as a child, anyone remember those traveling encyclopedia salespeople that would sell those special, classic books? You spent lots of $$ for color pictures - an 'heirloom' to pass on to your kids? Yeah - those - well, back in '72 or thereabouts my father bought them for us kids and I remember looking at this 'special' place in the world and saying to myself - I'm going there one day. I'm happy because I get to knock off another one of my places-to-visit-before-I-die list. I truly am blessed to have such a wonderful life.

And that brings me back to my original point - sorry its so long - just when I think I'm having a bad time, I get knocked up alongside my head and makes me open my eyes to realize - I truly am blessed. I could have lost 2 very important people WELL OK - their dogs - but their still family and instead I still have them. My girls are alive and well - the human ones that is and DH is super supportive and happy that I'm going. (I'm leaving that one alone ) What more could a girl ask for?

Ok - on to introduce myself to the other thread! Final payment being made Friday at 3 pm EST
.

How fun! And how fortunate your critters were rounded up so quickly! We're lucky to have so many decent neighbors who have sheltered our 4 pawed rascal when he got out.

And cheers to you on doing the WB repo! I wish I were going - but as I've often posted (not that you would have read it) .... I have many reasons for letting this one slip by. Oh well... I gotta try an get the little one to take her nap now. I'll be jugglin' a toddler for a while now...

May be true - but Capt Crash is a  and my Knight in Shining armor! (He managed to turn a bad situation from turning into a worse one and allowed me to get some shots that I would otherwise of lost because dufus me - forgot to carry an extra card for my then fairly new 30D camera. When my card malfunctioned - he graciously allowed me to borrow one of his. To which I am eternally grateful for........ Thank you Tom! Hi Alicia! Can't wait to sail with you again!)

Cheers!

And if I may say so ... this is TAKING FOREVER to get up to 62,000....

I just want to thank you all for your warm thoughts, words of wisdom, laughs etc. You can not begin to know how much it means to come here & see all the words of support. You know it's funny, because a lot of my friends & family do not understand my obsession with Disney, the Dis boards & in particular this thread. They ask, "How can you talk to these people you don't even know?" Well I can't really explain it to them. How I feel when I am at WDW or on a cruise with my family is beyond words. It's not an amusement park or even just a vacation to me, it's my sanity. I cherish those moments with my children more than anything in the world. Maybe because I didn't have them growing up. I love to talk to people who have a like minded obsession. And I especially feel as if I know each and everyone of you in some way. I know some of your quirks, what makes you laugh, happy, angry, etc. I only look forward to getting to know you all in person. Thanks again! :grouphug:

Julie I am so sorry your mother died so young. That is very sad. But you're right...there is a little child in all of us & that is exactly how I felt when I got the news yesterday. I curled up in a little ball & cried for my Mommy. :sad1: My mother has had problems with learning, mental illness, substance abuse, etc. & she was not an easy mother to have, but yet she was still my Mom & there was always hope that some day she would see the light & be the mother I always wanted her to be. Even though that hope was unrealistic, it was competely gone yesterday & that is what hurt the most. Sorry I don't mean to be so maudlin, but you hit the nail on the head with your words of wisdom. Thank you so much!

Diane, I am so sorry for the sense of loss that you are feeling. Just remember that you did nothing to make your mother who she was. It was her choice and hers alone. It has made you the person you are today and probably more deterimined to not perpetuate that attitude. YOU are the new start for happiness in your family. :grouphug:

I know this looks like another GROUNDHOG DAY moment ....

... but some thoughts are worth reliving ....

... cheers all around for being good neighbors!

If that wasn't bad enough, they've decided they don't want to sing You've Got A Friend In Me. I made the mistake of playing my Wishes CD during rest time on Monday. Now they want to sing Wishes. According to them, the Toy Story song is for little kids.:upsidedow

 Don't tell dh...The Toy Story movies are some of his favorite movies. :)

OK M, You can have Prince Eric if I can have Captain Jack or Will Turner - or better yet, both! pirate: pirate:

How much for both?

So which is it????

ménage à pirate or pirate à trois ??????

I too have been known to do significant fundraising for charity (spent a few years volunteering for an organization known as the Sunshine Foundation and have been volunteer firefighter for 24 years)

Is it just me or when you see NIWTLIVE do you think Nitwit Live?

Very cool on the fundraising Tom! That's why I love my job - I get paid to do what many people choose to do for free in their spare time!

And yes, I think Nitwit Live.
But I know that it is really Yarg and his lovely wife Swimbo.

pirate:
Hmmm....

Letting my "wild" inner self out might frighten some

I can see noe a freak flag might be the lesser of 2 evils with me...

Is it just me or did I just get a headache? :headache: I see flashing lights!

Happy Birthday AMY!

OK NO ONE - and I REPEAT - NO ONE tell my DD20 about this cake. Else I will be forcing you to walk the plank on our cruise!
So which is it????

ménage à pirate or pirate à trois ??????

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

NITWIT? I see I'm not the only one seeing things. ;)

Tom, if we were to wait until we debated every single decision for our children until we were ABSOLUTELY SURE about what was THE right choice...the poor kids would never get out of the crib. ;) As long as you give them a loving and neurturing home and your choices are from the love in your heart...whatever decision you make will be good for them. Don't be so set that you are not willing to acknowledge that you may not have made the best choice and therefore change the direction along the way. At this age kids grow and develop so much that they are completely different from who they were just 3-6 months ago. From what you have shared of your interactions with the girls, there is no doubt that they know that they are safe, secure and loved. Kids are very resiliant as well. Repeating Kindergarten is not going to change their future from one of glory to shame. DD was actually excited about that possibility last year when it didn't look as if she would meet the required reading level. In January I started talking to her about how she had the chance to be older instead of the only 4 yo in the class and she had picked the teacher she wanted to have the next year. When she reached the goal in late April we celebrated but it was clear that repeating K would not have been a punishment for not doing a good job. As long as she does her best and tries hard....we are proud of her and love her. :)

Well...

... I've decided to relax (some of) my anxiety over this. I can't help thinking we pushed the older one and the younger one seems like she could use more time to blossom. And you're so right about how they change in just a few months. Six months to us is a drop in the bucket so to speak... but for a 3 year old it's 1/6th of thier life... and arguably a period filled with developement!

I APPRECIATE EVERYONES' REMARKS. And... I am just like ... it's just that our kids are the most precious things to us. And we're trying to be good and careful parents. I kno I'll make mistakes (who doesn't?)... and I thought posting some candid thoughts and concerns might shed a little light on the matter. Sometimes we have resident "experts" who have interseting and insightful remarks and thoughts. I am no expert - just a "fly by the seat of my pants" Dad.

So anyways... again ... thanks to all who had something constructive to share. I appreciate all your comments!
