Did any other West Coasters make it to the Pirates Lair opening this weekend? It was really incredible, and the new cave area vastly exceeded my expectations. You can put your hand on Davy Jones' locker and feel his heart beating, but my favorite was a scene where you pull on a gold bar and then a skeleton hand comes down holding an eyeball and says, "I saw that!"

They also have a new Captain Jack meet-and-greet area. Here is our (partial) family picture:

We bought DS a Small World bath toy, and he presented it to Captain Jack, who correctly surmised, after closely inspecting it, that it was more of a dinghy:

It was a great day at the park.

Great pics!!! DD & DGS went today - but didn't see Cap'n Jack - also said it was great.

I have MBT's - 3 actually - 1 walkiing, 2 sandals - they are great. Although now that I've discovered Crocs - I'll probably be wearing them less!

WOW! I can't believe it! Chris... wait a moment ... I'm gonna run and get my spouse to see this and maybe ask you how you like them...

I have not said much to her about them - but I confess to having some skepticism. They look too unorthodox for me to take them seriously.

Especially with the sort of claims I have heard. If you have to wander off - I understand and maybe / likely we'll switch to PMs.

Give me a moment to try and get her over here or to dictate a message to post and share.

OK...

My spouse is dictating to me (nothing new there)...

Alicia is askin'.....

1) How do you like them? They say they give you a really good "workout" and ...

2) are they good for your knees? Sometimes she has some concerns about knee pain.

3) Do you have the HIGH or LOW models. ANd if you considered or have both ... then which do you prefer. ANd if expressing a preference - do you have any special reasons for the preference.

4) Why substitue with crocs? At first glance - the suggested performance of MBTs are completely differnt from what I think Crocs deliver. I do not have any crocs so cannot speak from experience. I've had curiosity about them for some time though...

Thanks in advance for your input and thoughts. And,,, if anyone else has MBTs and responses on my questions - thanks too...

I got the first pair because I have a lower back problem ( + a problem w/shoes because I've got a very high instep) - my girlfriend had a pair & swore they helped her. I prefer the sandals because of my feet - but I wear them everyday - especially to walk the dogs - I walk them 30 mn - to an hour 2x a day. Anyway - that's why I have them.

We gotta go to supper now. We'll soon find out if they'll honor the coupon on a holiday like today.

I tried to answer Alicia's questions w/in your post & it didn't work????

But I think the crocs are better for site-seeing walking & I think the mbt "workout" aspect is b.s. hype.

Enjoy your dinner - we're having seared Ahi & aspargus tonite.

This one is more affordable ($120ish) for the digital SLR realm, anyone want to try it out and let me know if it works before I risk my camera.....

DSIL has a Lumix digital (FX07)
panasonic_dmcfx07.gif

and has been talking about getting an underwater housing for it. Problem is the housing costs almost as much as the camera.
IPCDMWMCTZ1.JPG

It's good to 120ft! :thumbsup2

But, the results are spectacular as shown in the gallery (of course he is a professional ;))

the last of the ketchup. boy am i glad we've slowed down!

According to this map, the Disney Magic is sailing "IN" the middle of Spain right now(27-May 0200)..............a little goof up I'd say................

MagicINSpain.png

I read somewhere that they'd made the Magic amphibious during her last dry dock. Did you miss the article??

And even things she did learn she kept that information to herself- apparently. She would learn things (pre-school years) and was not the least bit interested in sharing that fact with you. It was one of my worries when she started K- because I honestly thought she was going to have to learn a LOT in K. But she surprised me.. she did a complete turn-around on that aspect with her teacher. She just finished 1st grade so I can remember K vividly and how surprised I was those first few months... when the teacher would tell me how much she already knew when she started K, how well she did with the testing they do at the beginning of the year to see where everyone is "at" and such. Apparently she had learned quite a bit -just wasn't motivated or interested in telling us or showing us that she'd learned so much.

My younger brother did the same thing. My parent were convinced he didn't know how to read. The got a new bike ofr Xmas when he was in 3rd grade and Dad told him he couldn't ride it until he'd read the owners manual. Mom chided Dad for setting the bar too high - "you know he can't read." 45 minutes later, after having passed the little quiz on the manual Dad gave him - he was on that bike.

He could read perfectly well, just never bothered to let one about it. :lmao:

So he's home now and in great spirits. He evidently sneaked out right past Alicia as she came IN. I still don't know HOW ON EARTH a 120 pound Samoyed can sneak out the front door and gate past my under 100 pound spouse as she came IN the door. But he did it!

Anyways... below is a photo from a few weeks ago of SUGAR in the bath tub. If you peer carefully you can see the water is not exactly clear....

So glad you've got Sugar back. It's such a worry when they get out.

We've lost our several times over the years. The strangest was probably Jet-A who spent 4 days running the top of Bull Run Mt. in VA. It was a busman's holiday - she didn't come home hungry. Though she did crate herself in one of the three crates we left out for the purpose when she was ready to come home.

The most worrisome was Digit who was gone for 5 days here in Sacramento - in town. We knew where she was, we were constantly getting phone calls from our signs. But she wasn't having anything to do with anybody. She'd crossed 4 major intersections by the time he managed to be in the same place at the same time. She didn't recognize my husband, but did make a beeline for the car.

BTW. That was one DIRTY dog!! :)

At least with this crowd, there are enough of us nuts that take 5,000+/- pix that we can give you all the good scenery if it happened again....

You know if we ever get a website we should think about setting it up so that after the fact everyone can FTP they photos up for sharing.

My sister came over to show me the CC cards that she received (did not get mine!) and I went on to search for the threads to show her what the stateroom gift might be. She very innocently asked if anyone from the repo cruise had started a thread!

That's a good idea, someone should start one. Maybe a website too! :lmao:

You think we could get t-****s???? :rotfl:

Five years ago my dad bought a bag of junk home that had a bunch of old VHS tapes in it. One of the movies was SOS.

They put SOS out on VHS??? I SO want that movie. I didn't think they'd ever released it to the home audiences. Wonder if I could find it on eBay...

What a great movie. I remember seeing it in the theater clearly. Though the first one I saw - that I remember was Fantasia - in a theatre. I remember winter fairies, the hippos, and the devil at the end (which frightened me pretty badly - I watched it on mom's lap under her poncho with one eye peeking out form under the neck line)

Well I'm off for bed. I've got to be up extra early to start a class for a couple of guys in rissia at 6am!! :headache:

In honor of all our what's for dinner chat...

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
What is a pirate's favourite herb?

Parrrrsley!!
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

And in case you're interested (or not!) we had chicken and a mystery meat (leftovers) in a mild thai penut / coconut sauce over rice with mixed veggies, and Issac's birthday cookies for dessert. It was yummy!

No parsley in sight. :rotfl2:

hi everyone! my computer has been down, so i "borrowed" my parents!! LOL!! won't have time for ketchup, and it looks like a lot of posts since my last visit. oh well...gotta try to at least skim thru a few pages....
could take me a while.
hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend! have a great week!

Better late than never.....hope it was a nice one for all!

Since we're getting down to the wire before the trip, we've been hustling to get the laundry done, the house clean, the business prepped for our absence.....you all know the routine.

So I haven't been able to catch up and stay caught up. :guilty:

I see I've missed some sort of conversation about underwater cameras. I have the whole kit and kaboodle with the SeaLife Reefmaster set up, strobe and the whole bit.....but it's awfully bulky to haul around.
I am in LOVE with the new camera I got about a year ago. It's the Pentax Optio W10 underwater digital....and only the size of an average "pocket" digital. The pics are pretty darn good, though, and much easier to carry around.

7 question time again....

1) whats' your favorite DISNEY RIDE? Haunted Mansion Disneyland version

2) whats' your favorite DISNEY Character - who is NOT a "STAR" r leading character? Piglet

3) what was the 1st Disney show you can frecall having seen? Lady and the Tramp

4) what was the LAST Disney show you can recall having seen? Modern Marvels WDW

5) if you could be the CM playing a DISNEY character on the ship or at one of the parks for a day - which would you choose? A tour guide

6) U like any Disney VILLANS? WHos' your favorite one? Hades

7) What new DISNEY CHARACTER would YOU create to add to a Disney movie? no clue

... now I know it's been suggested these little tiny mile-markers (61,100) are not being observed - but just because it's getting late ... and because I've not seized a 1000th posting in several weeks... I'm gonna "stomp on" this little tiny one!

Wooo-Hoooo!

as this current generation yelps it!

My current UW housing is guaranteed waterproof to 42" above the water line. That is only effective in the absence of water spray, rain or drizzle. Here's a photo...

And ya can't beat the price ... generally under a dime depending on whether you got a coupon to buy 'em! Plus when you're done with one particular bag yuou can REUSE it for pizza or a sandwich from room service! HOWEVER, they're not bvery effective for taking soup or lobster tails off the ship! Ya need better seals or insulation for the latter!

7 question time again....

1) whats' your favorite DISNEY RIDE? So hard to decide! For the moment, I'll go with Splash Mountain

2) whats' your favorite DISNEY Character - who is NOT a "STAR" r leading character? Rutt and Tuke in Brother Bear (OK, who does that shock?)

3) what was the 1st Disney show you can frecall having seen? Gus The Field Goal Kicking Mule

4) what was the LAST Disney show you can recall having seen? POTC: AWE

5) if you could be the CM playing a DISNEY character on the ship or at one of the parks for a day - which would you choose? Tink during Wishes

6) U like any Disney VILLANS? WHos' your favorite one? Capt. Hook

7) What new DISNEY CHARACTER would YOU create to add to a Disney movie? IE... I would create an 8th Dwarf... the MISER. He'd be the one in charge of the Dwarves finances. That is NOT my actual opinion - just an example.
Sk8ingirl - Prince Eric's mistress

Oh wait, did I say that outloud???

OK... let's sprint!

3) what was the 1st Disney show you can frecall having seen? Mary Poppins (that was Disney, wasn't it??) otherwise, maybe Pinocchio or Bambi

4) what was the LAST Disney show you can recall having seen? Other than the stage shows on the ship....Cars

5) if you could be the CM playing a DISNEY character on the ship or at one of the parks for a day - which would you choose? At the parks, a Jungle Cruise "captain"....on the ship, Asst Cruise Director

6) U like any Disney VILLANS? WHos' your favorite one? Ick, I don't like any of them!

7) What new DISNEY CHARACTER would YOU create to add to a Disney movie? To start a movie of their own....maybe a Panda since I don't think there's been any panda movies or a dolphin?
To add to an existing Disney movie....more wenches in Pirates! (maybe some older, cute, short, round ones!!)
