You and the family are always welcome at our little abode. Hopefully we will see you at another meet in the NYC area or you guys can make the trip during the summer for a barbecue. Jack

Thanks, we will keep the August BBQ in mind, by then, I will be ready to get away again..................;)

What a sweet thing to say there buddy. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

If y'all will have me, I'd still like to be a part of this thread. I feel as though I made many new friends here, and even if we can't sail together, I'd still like that friendship to remain, and live this adventure through all of you. ;)

It just wouldn't be the same without you!:goodvibes

Arlene one of the nice things about CCI is that they have their own shuttle that runs back and forth between the parks and the hotel every 30 minutes so you really don't have to walk. We always stay there when we do multi-day trips to DL and CA. It's a very nice, family friendly hotel.
It looks really nice, I saw it originally when I was looking for a hotel.

Mornin' pirate:s.
It is a beautiful sunny day in AK. Not sure what we are going to do today.
I should be a good heathen mom of Catholic boys and take them to church, not sure if we'll make it though.
I've coached synchro, it is a TON of work. Much more work than solo skaters, especially if you don't have a coreographer (and most don't unless they are Nationals caliber).

I forget Arlene, how old is your DD?

MR, all the workouts in the world aren't going to help the part(s) I'm concerned about!

She Stopped competing around 15 and started teaching when she was around 17 - 18. She really hasn't been back on the ice for a while now and it's a shame. She is 32 now and I was thinking of getting her some skating time at the local rink. It helps her clear her head.

Afternoon Folks.

I took Hazel and Angelina out for brunch this morning at Old Country Buffet before taking Angelina to work. While we were eating we had a family meeting discussing quite a few topics. I also wanted to get Angelina's and Hazel's true feelings about the TOAL. Angelina then said, "Funny, you should bring that topic up dad, because I wanted to talk about that." We talked for quite a while, then put the TOAL up for a vote. I'm sad to say that the TOAL vote was 3-0 in favor to cancel. Yes, even me, who wanted to do this more than Hazel and Angelina combined, voted it down. I don't know what else to say, but that I am sorry we won't have the chance to sail with you, on TOAL. :sad1:

 Oh Andy! I know how hard this decision is. I know you need to do what is best for the family. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime this summer when we have another mini meet.

how cool is this girls......?

Oh the perfect ending to my day. CAme home to watch the final AR and don't you know it, DH said while I was starting to watch it " Oh they won!" He always does that and now I don't even want to see it.:headache: But I probably will in the am.At least he emptied the DW.

I rained buckets here today. Glad it was shortlived. But we sorely needed the rain.

Everyone's out enjoying the spring weather! :goodvibes

Not here! It has been pretty chilly here...especially with the noreaster coming tonight. We were at the air show on Friday and it was only 60.

We have frost warnings posted tonight - it's supposed to get down to 31:scared1:! But later this week we are supposed to have highs in the 80's:scared1:! Way to early for that kind of weather here - I can distinctly remember when wearing shorts on Memorial Day was unusual.

At 4am this morning we recieved a call from the hospital informing us that my Father had died. :scared1:

He would have been 87 on the 16th of this month. We're just thankful it wasn't a long drawn out ordeal for him.

I am so sorry to hear this. I pray that you can find solace in knowing he is now at peace.

So sorry you, Hazel, and Angelina won't be sailing w/us. Please stay on the thread - you're an important member of this family!!

Hi - Hope everyone had a great weekend. My drive back down to So. CA was - thankfully - uneventful - but tiring. Even my "kindergarten kold" is better.

Good night all.

I may be a little late in replying - and I have not seen the echoing affirmations already posted - but I'd still like to toss in my encouragement!

Actually Roger ..The Candy Cane in is on the same side of Harbor that DLR is ...if you look at your picture where the thumb tack is saying CCI is its actually the hotel on the same side as DL ...you can just barley make it out cause its the last thing you can see on the page ....We have stayed there many times and its a great little hotel ...

pirate:

Thanks to both of you! Tom as I was trying to do this last night before going to bed, I realized that you or someone else would complain about the lack of liquor stores. :rotfl2: Todd, I realize that Google earth sometimes does not get the address label exact on the map. It was late and just trying to give Arlene an idea. Thank you for the correction.

What can I say Andy. I am disappointed that my family will not be able to meet your family and spend 2 weeks with you. This is selfish, I realize for you are the one that will miss this cruise. I will not call it TOAL, (I thought our vacation this year was TOAL) because for you your TOAL hasn't come yet. There WILL be an other TOAL in your future and it may very well be better than this one. We all have to do what is best for our families. I feel that you will not be the only one that does not make on the ship and we will grieve each and every loss. You have become our mascot on this tread, with your EARLY morning greetings and fatherly advice. I personally would love for you to continue to hang out hear with all of us. Thank you for everything that you have done and if there is anything that you ever need do not hesitate. Maybe someday you and the family can venture out to DL and we can have a DIS meet on this coast.

:scared1: This is the saddest news. I'm so sorry you won't be joining us. I was looking forward to meeting you and your family. Please stick around. I'd really miss you if you'd stop posting. :flower3:
