Good Morning Crew!

Well, I am packed and ready to go. Just waiting for my Mom to get here so we can head off to EWR. Flight is so far on time and according to Liz, the weather looks great. It was nearly impossible to get out of the office yeaterday. Needless to say I will be screening call.

I am not taking the computer. So, have a good week. Be safe. I'll ketchup Sun/Mon.

Happy Birhtday to those ofyou celebrating this week.

XOXO

Bye Kathy - safe travels!

Just wanted to show you guys what I finished for dd's school. They are having a Fine Art Night tonight and they had school chairs that you could take and decorate for the "Chair-ity" Auction. The theme was storybooks.

:thumbsup2 Very nice!

Good morning! Heading into work. Sunny skies, temp in the mid 50s today but supposed to drop to mid 30s tonight with a chance of rain or SN*W!

I LOVE dancing and I'm really looking forward to having friends to go dancing with.

Me too! The last wedding we went to DH danced with me once! It was a co-workers wedding so I was at a table with my boss and his partner, my co-workers boss and some other people she knew through working. Anyway, my bosses partner is also a child of the 80's and we had so much fun dancing! He actually was tossing me around so much I thought I was going to get sick.

So the swabbie who dances gets all the wenches?

So the PO was supposed to be open until 10:30pm last night for getting tax returns in..."SUPPOSED TO BE"!!!

I would have mailed them after work but I found a 1099-B from DW's stock sale :headache: So I had to go home and redo the paperwork--didn't really matter because it didn't change the outcome :sad2: But I waited until after my swimming lesson...

So by the time I get downtown--for that was the only PO open--the troubles began: a BUNCH of people milling about because the post office is CLOSED!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:  So there's about 20-30 cars doing slow drive bys and and bunch more people on foot wandering around like zombies trying to figure out what to do!?!? In Philly they had postal employees standing in the middle of the road with mail bins....here, the lights are on but apparently NOBODY is home!?! You couldn't even go into the mailbox lobby. One guy had to get postage for his stuff but if you can't get inside the building I think he was SOL! :sad2:

So a few of us made an executive decision and just put our stuff in the collection box under the assumption that there's someone inside the building waiting to come out and get the mail. But of course being a pirate: I kinda mitigated all that: NM--snits that they are--decided to NOT follow the rest of the country and kept the filing date as April 16! So on Monday I went by the PO and used the automated postage machine to buy postage for a fake letter ;) The "meter" strips the machine prints has a date on it! And that date says Apr 16, 2007 :woohoo:

Off to work! TTL!

So the news was talking about TurboTax having a MELTDOWN because they got DOUBLE the amount of e-filers from last year!

Electronic Filing Delays and Status

Update, 6:30am, April 18: Outstanding issues with our servers have been resolved and we are currently processing all customers' returns and requests for status checks at a normal rate. As we mentioned earlier, we are working with the IRS this morning to ensure that returns will be considered as timely filed even if transmitted to us past midnight.

We encourage customers to continue trying to e-file; if you have been unable to successfully transmit, please try again.

Looks like IRS is being rather forgiving about the filing deadline. A couple of people said they got tired of waiting to get through so they schleped down to the post office. :sad2:

Don't you think it is punishment enough that I remember that song?

Bad enough remembering the song, but being able to quote lyrics.....

Maybe we should just take you out of your misery?

Another reason why I avoid the last minute madness. As soon as we get all our paper work in early Feb we are DONE. We always get a refund so there is no reason to wait. I guess if I owed I'd put it off to the last minute.

I agree. While I feel bad for those affected, I am seeing people online complaining to the IRS when the government had no role in this. These people waiting until the last minute and relied on a private company to be responsible. The IRS should charge late fees for every return received after midnight and then Intuit should agree to pay the late fees.

The IRS has granted a six month extension for students, faculty, staff at VT, along with their families.

Good Morning Everyone!

Nice poster!

I have to admit, when we were in WDW last week we took a movie poster off one of the Disney Buses. We did ask the bus driver so it wasn't stealing. We borowed it. It's the poster of all the 4 main characters.

Hope everyone is well!:)

Just one question. Why is the poster on your patio window?

The reason being My DH has to build a back light frame for it. My favorite is Johhny Depp but Orlando Bloom poster would not be thrown out!!!

What a great job.

I used taxact.com to file my federal and state returns...

Free for federal....Only $12.95 for MD state

Well i hit send on Sunday Night.....

Got my acknowledgements on Monday from Feds... (Return should hit my bank account on 27th)

State was acknowledged yesterday.

Today i go to the bank to deposit a couple small checks...

GO to look at my balance afterwards and OMG there like a ton of extra money (ok not a ton but...)

Then i had to go online once i got back here and it looks like i just got my State return...

:cool1: Woo hoo :cool1: (not that it's not spent already)

This is the same state creeps who take two months to return your money if you do a paper return....

Guess i'm doing electronic from now on...

* it was the way i used to keep in shape, cutting a rug x several hours
wasn't easy thing to do.........slow dancing was rest time...except when
a few discovered my hiding places..for candy [chocolate bars..popcorn:: ]

......i used to "encompass" magic tricks and role playing..into the dance
moves..once upon a time, adding a "royal presentation"...."we", cleared
the dance floor. [colorado springs...odessy ]. after awhile, it became
apparent alot ladies..did not dance...so being a good pirate: in
nature, [ ] i worked on developing a dance where the lead...
included, "working" the partner in her moves....so she would look good!
* i didn't think dancing by oneself was the objective...:teacher:
instead...i really saw it as an "aaa~rgh" to meet princess: :bride: !
those were sumptin days! :cool2:

Thanks everyone. I think it turned out well considering I waited to the last minute to do it! It took me longer to think what to do. Some people did do storybook theme. If I had known that I could of done POTC! One person did Spiderman. Oh well. Next time I'm not going to procrastinate!:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 ..downriverm., i'll bet your chair will bring in the higest

I've never tried tolle painting. I'm more of an artsy-craftsy type. It was a bit of decoupage and stenciling. I did do the lettering freehand, looking intently at a Peter Pan bookmark! LOL! We have one mom who paints nature scenes and displays her work at a local art gallery, she did faeries on 2 chairs and her's will bring in the most. They are gorgeous! A teacher also a very good artist did Cat in the Hat and it is really cute. When it comes to arts and crafts I dabble in just about everything. I also do stained glass, but haven't done it in many years. It is dirty to do, but I haven't given away my supplies for it yet.

Regardless, quoting that song requires punishment :rotfl:

I think some counseling may be in order. :lmao:
