Hello how is e eryone tonight?
hey stef! long time...no talk!!! just kidding! stinks that the nite you get to check in here, and it's pretty slow. it will give you some time to ketchup on some of the other stuff here.
I just stumbled onto this site. I can't believe how long it is. DH and I and our youngest DD are booked on this repo cruise and are so excited. There are alot of Jersey posters on this thread. DH and I moved to Central Florida (The Villages) from Gloucester County almost three years ago. The kids are still up North in PA (just across the river). We do not miss the snow or ice. I was up in PA for snow this past February. It was nice to sit inside and look out and just enjoy it.

I know what you're talking about working in the weather (oh and also about the knees). DH spent 32 years working in the gas department of PECO. He's already had surgery on both knees. The weather just makes your jobs harder. I didn't see him for seven days during the blizzard of -- oh, I can't remember what year that was. I lost track of the number of ice storms he was MIA for. He works retail now and that is not much better on the knees.

But before we can concentrate on this cruise we get to enjoy the Magic in two weeks. The whole family (DH and I, two DD's, one SIL and two of the greatest grandkids in the world) are counting the hours till our 4/28 Eastern. This will be our fourth DCL cruise. Once we get back we will be able to begin that countdown for the repo. But, I have to do it quietly because our oldest DD pouts everytime we mention it. It won't be quite the same without the grandkids but there is no way she can miss the start of school year. The grandkids (they are 2 and 4 now) can miss but they frown on the teacher not showing up for the first week. She is taking a sabbatical in 2010 so she is hoping they run another Canal Repo that August. That one will have the whole clan of us aboard.

All day I have been meaning to start getting ready for our cruise but it was such a beautiful day here - 88 and sunny - I spent the afternoon out in my golf cart. Then I planned on just checking in for a "few minutes" on the boards and now here it is three hours later. I better search my computer for my packing list and begin working on it. When I get back I don't know how many pages I will find here. It will take me months to check it all out.

Barbara

welcome barbara!! hope you have a ball on your upcoming cruise, and then just jump in here when you get home!

Welcome home Paula - can't wait to hear about your trip!!

We had a wonderful Sushi dinner tonght - a finale to our spring break week. The youngest is in bed - the older 2 and Aunt Lori (DD) are watching a movie. Tomorrow DGD Melissa & DGS Jack fly back up to San Francisco and back to school.

We'll all be back to our regular routines!

This is one very tired Grandma - so I'm off to bed.

G'nite - Chris

WOW!!! Are you home already, Paula? Glad to hear that you had a great time. Just think...next time you will get to stay onboard twice as long!

I can't wait!!!!It will actually almost be 3 times with that 5 nighter afterwards. :)

I don't think that I am going to have time to go back and read all these posts!

Paula glad that you had a great time and glad to see you back. We all were thinking about you the day of your departure and the scare at the port. Can't wait to hear your story. It is amazing how fast a week goes by when you are having fun.

Hi Barbara! Welcome!!!
I think my friend's parents live in the Villages. Their last name is Schertzer.
:confused3 Sound like anyone you know?

No the name is not familiar but then 60,000 people live in The Villages. It's not just a community - it's almost as big as some counties.

Two more shots from today's rodeo. I'm hoping tomorrow to get some better ones of the saddle bronc riders and the barebacks. These are bareback.
Oh...kind of interesting....has anyone ever seen the show "Cowboy U"? Rocco, the head boss, was in our Stockman's Club tonight.

Anyone else agree that these guys are nuts??

One of the bull riders was wearing the protective vest and a helmet. Some in the crowd were thinking he was a wimp...until he landed head first in the dirt!
(I'd like to see those loudmouths get out there and do it!)

Oh wow, Chris, I didn't realize they were up here. We'll have to get the kids together again this summer. Maybe Exploratorium or something??

Hi There Barbara,

I currently live in Gloucester County. I think the sn*wstorm you were referring to was the Blizzard of '96 when we received 30.7 inches of that white stuff, am I correct? My mom also now lives in Lake County, FL just across the St. Johns River from Volusia County. OK, everyone start singing, "It's a Small World Afterall."

What part of Gloucester County were you from?

Glad to hear you will be joining us in August 2008.................:thumbsup2
