I need a tall glass of scotch. I've got this massive headache that I've been fighting all day. Advil lessens the pain but it just keeps lingering beneath the surface and won't go away and now it is back with a vengenance.

I figure a couple of scotches and I'll hit the kitchen floor and that ought to help. Just as long as SWMBO doesn't come home and call 911.

The wine is just dulling my headache - it will come back tomorrow with a vengence. But then again tomorrow is Friday and it's chat night so either vodka and cranberry or konh koolers to help me out.

If mine persists tomorrow, I am staying home. I couldn't concentrate on work at all today. (Not that I need an excuse not to concentrate, but today was really bad. I just wanted to put my head down on my desk like a first-grader).

Hope your's is feeling better tomorrow - I already know that mine will be 100 times worse before the end of the work day, then I have to deal with the idiots at the grocery store (don't usually do that particular chore on Friday night but have no choice this week).

Actually, I'm sitting here in my chair with tears streaming down my face as Hazel is fixing me something for lunch. The pain is just as bad as yesterday, if not more. I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm seriously thinking of looking into signing up for Disability Pension, if I can't get a total knee replacement done. Of course, that knocks out all plans for a TOAL for us, but I need to do something, I can't live like this anymore. Sorry to be a downer folks, but I could use everyone's positive thoughts right now.

Thanks. I think I am going to call it a night. (It's a night). My head is really hurting now and the scotch is not working. Maybe I'll try Advil+Scotch. Or maybe a ballpean hammer.

My doc is out of town until late next week, and the first appointment that is available to see him is May 18th. I guess I'll be living on pain pills a little longer, it's not funny, but I've got to which is much better than

Call back & ask to talk to the office manager. Tell him/her that you just cannot wait. Medicine in the Philly/NJ area is tough competition. They ought to be willing to do something for you.

Mary has had both knees replaced. The first 12 years ago the last about three. The Doctor would have put her on disability, but we decided to give work a try. We didn't know that she would have gotten free medical for life if we'd taken the disability route. I'd say her knees are 90% as good as the real thing. She pushed off having the last one done too long. It's not worth the pain. They now have you up on your feet the day after surgery.

Sure did! I knew that she wasn't there as a friend. I feel so sad for them knowing that the baby probably wont make it on the island.

Oh Crud Joel...I'm sorry for you guys....losing a job stinks...but I must say you seems to be handling it all well....great attitude! I am sure your wife with land an awesome job...you guys certainly have excellent educations behind you! Best wishes for a short (or no) period of unemployment and then the serverance can pay for the TOAL and DeVry can shove.......well you get it!

That would be nice. I hope we don't need to cancel if it's a longer period, this group really will make it a TOAL.

That stinks. But at least it wasn't pack up and get out. Gives chance to put affairs in order and find job while still getting $

We may have it easier than the others, my DW was actually the youngest let go at age 38....All others were in late 40's to 50's. It has to be tougher to make changes the closer you get to retirement.

I am still up! Why I don't know, but I'm up! Anyway thanks for your kind thoughts. DH is doing great. He had a follow-up today & the doctor said everything looks good. His blood pressure & cholesterol are a bit elevated but DH asked if he could try & bring everything down by his physical in June. The doctor agreed to give him that time & see how things look by then. Judging by how well Mike is doing now, I think he will be in much better shape by then. I hope I am too! The doctor also said that if any symptoms like that occur again, they will be doing much more invasive tests on him. I hope & pray it does not come to that!
