8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 11

I loved to wrap all the presents. I even wrap the stocking presents. I just loved to torture my children and keep them in suspense. Now I can do it all over again to my granchildren.

Oh, we win the evil parents award easily. We take one gift that comes in multiple pieces and wrap it in separate boxes. (I wanted to take a lego set and split up all the pieces and wrap them in separate boxes -- I am thinking of buying a small lego set for Easter and putting each piece in a different egg and scatter them over the house!)

We'll wrap video games and then put them inside shirt boxes so the kids think they are clothes. We'll hide gift cards in pockets of pants we buy them so they think they are getting clothes.

If I am spending this much on Christmas, then, by golly, I am going to get some enjoyment.

I doubt that I will let the kids sit in the front even after they turn 12. When I read that a woman 5'5" is in danger of injury riding in the front seat with an airbag....that made me rethink it. I put the seat as far back as possible.

SWMBO began letting ST13 sit in the front seat for swimming practice, against my thinking because she wanted the company so now he thinks he owns that seat and was not happy to have to ride in the back with his siblings all the way to Atlanta and back. He keeps the seat pretty far back and I figure he is almost as tall as his mother, so I was just being over-cautious.

DD has been my co-pilot in the front for a couple years now. (Our civic is a two door. However, in our CRV, she usually is in the back.)

Ok, I am so glad so many other parents are posting about making their kids do the laundry, vacuum, etc. My ST13 thinks I am a slave driver. They are off school today and will be doing all of the accumulated chores of the past two weeks since the house is a disaster.

Now where is my whip?

Yeah my kids are home today and fighting about who empties the dishwasher and who has to fill it again.. LOL

We have a CIVIC too. That is the one that DS#1 is learning to drive.. but then I don't worry about him and the airbag as he is 5'11" already. But my MoM was barely 5 feet and she had to disable the airbag as she was too short..

I just got Hazel up, now to get "ST" up and moving, we will be headed to WDW around noon or so. Hopefully, it will be warm enough for a quick swim at POP before it's time to get ready for the mini-meet.

That was me and the clock on the stove. I finally, after 10 minutes of pushing every button (and SWMBO coming over and doing likewise), had to admit defeat and do that most-unmanlike thing. RTFM.

My civic is like that... I finally gave up and i just mentally subtract an hour during the fall/winter. The clock is correct now.

Morning.. working from home today and hoping that we will only work until 3 ish..

Busy weekend ahead..

Geoff has his Eagle project on Saturday.. the weather is supposed to be 30 degrees ( BRRRRRR) and it is outside all day at the nature center.( at least we won't worry about the ticks) . plus I keep reminding him to make a list of all the things he needs ... like plates, napkins, donuts, pizza , hot chocolate, table, chairs etc.. but he isn't listening and keeps saying that this is HIS Eagle project..

Geoff is making a trail.. he is building the sign posts, putting the trail guide on the sign posts, and makers for the trail, cutting the weeds, trees, grass, filling in the ruts, for the new trail. Plus he has measured the distance for each existing trail and is redoing the whole trail guide for the nature center and welcome brouchure.

that s a lot for him to do..

Tonight he is getting the dirt and gravel donated and dropped off, with a few scouts and the local landscaper , he is digging the hole for the sign posts and constructing the sign posts .. then Saturday he and many of the troop and friends will build the trail.. I hope it warms up a bit..

Nope.... They gave us off today... One of the largest perks of this job (14 holidays a year)

My Mom did that in her car, she figured that the clock was right 1/2 the year ....
