Our DS12 is also on restriction - failed health so no video games for at least another 5 weeks when we get the 1/2 report. It too is killing him.

My DS13 is currently failing physical education. He forgot to do a take-home quiz on volleyball rules.

This is the same kid who would have had straight-A's in the fall except he got a 'C' in BAND. (Because he didn't turn in his signed practice sheets -- which we parents never even knew existed)

How do you get A's in Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies and a 'C' in band!!!

Hello -and good morning everyone!

I'm very limited on time - as it's Spring Break here and since the kids are free of school ... we're all gonna follow Mom on some of her business day today and monday so we can begin our "off time" the moment she is done - and when she finishes up we'll be closer to where we ultimately want to end up. We have family visiting from Maui for Easter... so this enables getting together quicker today. But this also means more driving and running around.

I'll not be on for tonights' chat - and saturday we have an Easter Egg hunt and dinner at Church so I expect to be gone most of tomorrow, then come Monday-tuesday and thursday-friday we're traveling on business then going to Vegas for a day ... partly for business and partly pleasure (we never gamble - and do NOT look on gambling as a form of entertainment - no offense intended to those who enjoy gambling in Vegas).

At any rate, we got a prety good deal for hotel in Vegas with Hotwire. We took a 4 star for only $75 (87 with fees and taxes) and got the Westin off Flamingo. It was selling for $185 + 9% taxes if booking directly when we bought through Hotwire... so the savings was a little over 50%. PLUS, the place is more our preference with a small casino and lack of provokcative cocktail hostess attire. The pool is smaler then we like but it's contemporary, mildly upscale and HEATED. So that suits us fine.

Aside from all the "me" stuff... I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I hope to visit on the thread this weekend... probably late saturday and sunday evening if I'm not too zonked on returning home. I'll try to add another edition of 7 questions now before I sign off for this day...

I know I quoted before but just read again and at the start its ''this guy'' and by the end its dad hugged ''ME'' is it Conceivable or in-Conceivable this is based on your life?

Seriously, my DW doesn't even HAVE a sister. She has a step-sister but she was like 11 when we were married. In the words of Johnny Depp: "Eww".

I replaced the stock radio in my Civic with a tape deck (remember cassette tapes, anyone?) and that's the only clock. I am not sure if I reset it -- it is really too small to be useful.
:wizard:

We have an civic EX so it has a CD player only... My co-worker has a lower model (LX perhaps) and her's has a cassette.

My last civic was an EX too... i just love the sunroof, key fobs, and the v-tec engine.... it really made a difference when i test drove...

Now the CRV has both cassette and CD 6 disk .... BONUS....

I have a little less than 12 months on my Civic lease....

I'm pretty sure that i want to change to an Element this time so that both cars will be Abby (big dog) friendly.

If not i think the new 4 door civics are growing on me- like mold but their growing....

BUT the Sunroof is still a must have item... I don't care about the radio because we have Sirius.... OOOh maybe i can get one that's satellite ready since i already subscribe...then no more wires hangin out....

I thought I'd run into Caroline back there somewhere, but I guess she hasn't been around?

:wizard:

In a recent post i updated people.... She's busy with girls softball season right now (she coaches).

Hmmm Maybe i should call her again just to make sure she's still cruising....

Well gotta run till later....

DH is coming home for lunch so i gotta get something ready...

Mornin' pirate:s

with my coffee :surfweb:

Thank you, Keanu.

Party on, dude.

I guess I will have to be careful walking up to Deck 9 in my bathrobe to get coffee at 3AM.

At least he said bathrobe.

Don't go commando for the marathon. Don't want to chafe.

:wizard:

(Hey, wizard smilie is back at #13!)

:lmao:
Underwear is authorized for commando WDW.

I can barely remember watching Star Wars for the first time from the back of my parents van at the drive-in.

(does that tell how old i am?)

I went on a 'date' with my dad. (Back when a little girl could say that without people, well....going there). My brother was just a few months old, so I'm sure it was part of the 'older sibling adjustment plan'.

After leaving the library we had to stop and my Uncle Al's place for a few minutes. My Uncle Al lives a mile behind my mom's place. This area was the area that got hit very hard by the tornado on February 2nd. I had my camera with me, but I could not bring myself to take any pics of what I saw. It's been two months since the tornado went through, yet I still had tears coming to my eyes from what I saw a few minutes ago. One of the trailers that was destroyed was the one that my brother Pete and his girlfriend were looking to rent last fall, the family that was living in that trailer are all gone. :sad1:

Looking at what I just saw, gives me a new appreciation for what I have, it may not be much compared to what others have, but it's mine, and I'm thankful for it!!!

:grouphug:

and it has vitamin ARRRRRR

DLP will get a bit from that but with only say about 10 cruises ( 4x10 4x11 and two repos) even if 50% went to DLP that might as a total max add 10,000.

Noticable is how poor Disney's Californian adventure is, in this league, considering its just over from DL C and people could walk in if they wanted to.

Looks like over 2/3 of people visting Disneyland C avoid its sister park.

I've always assumed it was the 'local' factor about DL. That was the one thing I was not prepared for on my first trip to DL -- all of the locals in the park on the weekend, particularly the teens. It felt more like Six Flags than Disney. I would suspect the locals don't go to DCA as much as DL.

Of course, it's a pretty big drop-off from MK to AK as well. I think Disney misjudged the demand for that type of park.

Since I've been reading the main DCL board with the talk of the sunk cruise ship in the Greek Islands... this weekends' theme shall be ....

7 "EMERGENCY" QUESTIONS!

1) What 2 things would you grab and run with BY HAND (aside from a spouse or child/children) if an emergency evacuation moment arose on a cruise ship?

2) Same question at home (keep answers interesting - but NO personal secret info revealed please - for your protection!)

3) Do you have an "Emergency Plan" established for your family? IE... if you lost touch with one another in a huge public emergency do you have any plans or understandings with loved ones?

4) Do you get thrills or chills from Movies depicting "EMERGENCY" themed thrillers? Like the movie "Speed" or "Earthquake", or movies with tangental emergencies as in BACKDRAFT or similar?

5) Do you know or have you in the past been trained in any first aid? Can you do CPR in a pinch? Do you know your rights and liabilities?

6) Have you ever performed emergency 1st aid

7) What was the last "emergency moment" that you personally experienced?

OK.... I gotta run now...

It's almost an "EMERGENCY" for me to go!

Have a great and SAFE Easter weekend folks!

Exact same reason why I am hesitant on getting one. I have a sailboat design that I would like on my shoulder. Then I keep thnking, that boat is going to look like it's in rough water in another 40 years. The other problem is that I am a real chicken s*** when it comes to needles. I was 22 before I got my ears pierced.

My DS10 was talking with his grandfather last week and somehow they ended up on the topic of tattoos. GF was in the Navy in Vietnam and talked about guys going out for tats and coming back all sore. DS said he didn't know tattoos hurt so I made sure to tell him how they use really long needles and how they hurt for months afterward. Maybe that will discourage him.

JperiodspaceRperiod....you HAVE been missed! :wave2:

Everytime I read this I think of a comedian I once heard talking about his friend "J.B." who was having trouble with the DMV because they wanted his name and he only had initials, so he wrote on the license application: "J (only) B (only)" and his license came back made out to Jonly Bonly.

I know about just kidding, but if you want one of ANDREW's suggestions and this goes for the group in general, Palo's has a private dinning area that hold about 14 people, it can be booked by groups.

They will take a request, but only confirm about 30 days in advance, and it can be booked for Brunch, or Dinner.

I would suggest this group try to organise a few, there are far too many people here for one.

There are many sea days so there are options.

I am organising this for my MED cruise for 14 people and, it means the people posting on our thread should be able to have Palos brunch together.

Now its difficult organising this from the UK but if someone on this thread wanted to organise I can give you the details and you fax the Hassle Free Specialist/Palo.

She called me directly last week, on my Brunch request.

ANYONE up for organising?

MY TRIPS in Med

I am staying in Barcelona for a week pre cruise and organsing all my own there.
  • Palermo, most likely DCL in Sicily. havent decided.
  • Naples, private tour, Pompei, Sorrento, Amalfi coast, pictureque!
  • Olbia Sardinia, A dcl tour to be booked.
  • Civitavecchia, Private tour of Rome, inc private guide two hours in Rome.
  • La Spezia Private tour of Florence and Pisa.
  • Marseille Private tour of Provence.
  • Villefrance, Private tour of Monaco, Monte carlo, Nice,Cannes.

Mary Ann organized this for us on the 10-day HC and it was a lot of fun (mostly the girls picking on me). Even SWMBO enjoyed it and said it was a highlight of the trip.

Good morning everyone!!! I have about 400 posts to ketchup on. I am soooooo depressed. :sad2: It is freezing here, The temperature got into the teens last night. We are only going to be in the 30's for days and days!!!:sad2: Our average temperature should be at 55 degress. I HATE living in ILLINOIS!!!

With the MK bit I presume they measure it by turNover each day so you could be counted more than once for examlpe last year I had seven days in WDW, I had one full day in AK, MGM, Epcot, and the other four all included MK, for all or part of the day.

So in that example my attendance is four times more in MK.
