Update on DD's finger....the swelling has gone down. She can still move it & she says that it feels better today...but still hurts a little bit.

I am glad!!!! Is DD a drama queen?????:confused3 My DGD should win an award for drama at the age of two. I got behind this week because we thought DGD broke her leg. After x-rays, nothing was broken. Two days later ,I asked DGD if her leg still hurt?? She immediately started to limp and said yes. Funny but she ran out the door to go play a second later.:rotfl2:

I'm thinking bag the dresses and wear pants....

Our low is 26 that day and mid 40's for the high...

i wore my winter coat today to work and we had snow flurries this morning..

Not Easter Sunday. She even has her hat and white gloves to wear. :goodvibes

Just think you could be helping a poor moderator go on a very expensive cruise, just make a donation by:-

No contribution too small, ....well less than a hundred bucks means you do not get a pirate!

Hi Chris....Sorry to hear about your arm.... My DGM is having arm trouble too except they can't give her an MRI. (She has a fused spine from about 10 yrs ago with screws)

Anyway maybe with DGK's around they can be of some assistance to you.

Thanks - its not an arm problem but shoulder injury - before they give me a cortisone shot they want to take an MRI to make sure there is no rotator cuff tear. And of course don't use the arm so it will heal

DGKs really are a big help - they enjoy role reversal!!

Chris

We have an civic EX so it has a CD player only... My co-worker has a lower model (LX perhaps) and her's has a cassette.

My last civic was an EX too... i just love the sunroof, key fobs, and the v-tec engine.... it really made a difference when i test drove...

Now the CRV has both cassette and CD 6 disk .... BONUS....

I have a little less than 12 months on my Civic lease....

I'm pretty sure that i want to change to an Element this time so that both cars will be Abby (big dog) friendly.

If not i think the new 4 door civics are growing on me- like mold but their growing....

BUT the Sunroof is still a must have item... I don't care about the radio because we have Sirius.... OOOh maybe i can get one that's satellite ready since i already subscribe...then no more wires hangin out....

Mine only had a stock AM/FM radio. But it was a low-end because it is my work car and I drive 80 miles RT a day in it. Manual transmission too. Awful to drive in Chicago snow.

I hate the newest CR-Vs -- they look too much like station wagons now.

We need to replace both soon. Looking at the Pilot but probably will buy a family sedan like the Taurus this time. Then a few years from now, I can discard the Civic and get a truck again like an F-150.

Don't get me confused. It took me two days in your country to figure out what a 'quid' was when someone said it cost them 10 quid for something.

But, at least y'all are smarter with your money than us and put real numbers on them. It must be very confusing to come to the U.S. and get "one dime" and not know a dime is 10 cents. I don't know why they don't say "10 cents".

:wizard:

Yes when we ask for Six Quid, some people think its an 'ill Squid' in the ocean!

And all our notes are different colours and sizes as well. Not like dollars.

Right now, they're working on Midway Madness and Lasseter's calling the shots. I have high hopes for this. It should be open by the time our cruise leaves. They're also working on a show for the lagoon, They're going to re-theme the entire park (slowly!) to be more time specific, too. The front section will be CA of the 1920's and 30's (when Walt came here) and the seaside rollercoaster section is going to go Victorian.

They aren't getting rid of the Mickey ear coaster, are they? That is one of the things we are looking forward to riding after seeing it all these years. :) We plan on spending 2 days at DL and one at CA.

I fully expected it to be up in the three weeks I am gone. With all the money we are paying Lisa for it, I don't understand what is taking so long. :rotfl:

There was money??? :confused3 Hmmmm...must have gotten stuck in the wires. :lmao:

Hello everyone,
We are sitting in the vip lounge at Misson Space with MR and her family. We are having a great time. We are really enjoying our time with the O'Blenders.
Everyone says hi.
Except ST's who can't believe that I am posting while sitting here instead of taking them on the ride.

We are looking forward to meeting the rest of the gang that is here later tonight.

Wish you could all be here.

Oh, we win the evil parents award easily. We take one gift that comes in multiple pieces and wrap it in separate boxes. (I wanted to take a lego set and split up all the pieces and wrap them in separate boxes -- I am thinking of buying a small lego set for Easter and putting each piece in a different egg and scatter them over the house!)

We'll wrap video games and then put them inside shirt boxes so the kids think they are clothes. We'll hide gift cards in pockets of pants we buy them so they think they are getting clothes.

If I am spending this much on Christmas, then, by golly, I am going to get some enjoyment.

:wizard:

I love your thinking:thumbsup2

Karen

Wow. I guess I do like the idea of Dr's being cautious, but it sure is a pain for those families in which there is no abuse.

That is true, and I worry about what someone might say with as much as the kids fall. Last week after three weeks at the skating rink DD's rear end looks like a connect the dot game with all the bruises from her falling on her butt. I know that it is important for those kids who don't have a voice though.

I can barely remember watching Star Wars for the first time from the back of my parents van at the drive-in.

(does that tell how old i am?)

All I can say is that I remember taking my younger sisters and cousins to see Star Wars when it first came out in the theatre.(Does this tell you how OLD I am?

Karen

Nope haven't sent it out yet. Still need to ask him about the pillowcases. Will be eating Sushi with him on Friday and will get the dirt then. Expect an email from me (or rather from Lisa from me) next week sometime.

OK, Thanks - I'll keep an eye out for it

I was going thru WDW withdrawel yesterday so I went ahead and booked 4 visits for May, October, November and January(which includes a 4 day Disney Wonder cruise). Do you think I went overboard?(no pun intended!) Oh well I need to see Mickey!

Talk to you later!

Karen

You can NEVER have to many WDW trips planned :thumbsup2 . I have none, and honestly, I don't know how I am going to go that long. Maybe I'll sneak in a weekend somewhere.

Shows the power of new rides with AK going up. and EE was open 2/3 of the year.

AK is my favorite park, with EPCOT being a close second. I just think it is the most beautiful park

Good morning all! We are waiting for our ride to arrive for the day trip to the aquarium. DD has been saying her finger still hurts....DS slammed the door on it yesterday afternoon. It made a dent on each side but she could squeeze my finger with it...so I figured just bruises for a few days. This morning when I looked at it, the bottom of her finger is very swollen...not discolored with bruising or anything but definitely swollen. :(

How is DD today, Lisa?

My wife and I also had bad steak experience at Yachtman two years ago. It wasn't 'bad' but I'd had much better steaks, cooked better, for a lower price at many places. I'd had steaks at Outback that tasted better.

We love Spoodles and you can't beat V&A for the food or the atmosphere (or the price, unfortunately).

I had the best steak EVER at Flying Fish. It is presently my favorite restaurant in WDW

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour, the choice is "Pig Out" or "Pig In". In "Pig Out" each member of the team must load a tray at Topsider's and successfully carry it out of the buffet to a table outside the restuarant. In "Pig In" each member of the team must load a tray at Topsider's and successfully carry it out of the buffet to a table inside the restuarant.

You're on :thumbsup2

Tell that to Whitney Houston....

:lmao:

Her divorce became final yesterday, by default....Bobby didn't bother to show up

We just booked visits for Boston in November, Honolulu in August, and Vegas next week. All done in the last week or so... crazy I tell ya'. We would have added another visit to Honolulu in December but the fares jumped while we were lining up the hotels... so we'll fade from those plans until we line up an attractive are fare. Plus we're planning to build a cabana/playhouse + rennovate the backyard landscaping this spring/summer... so I've had a busy time of it as of late.

Okay well that clinches it! We must plan a mini-meet for the Boston area in November!

Definately - But, I have to ask you , CC - Why are you planning a trip to Boston in November. It will be cold and we could even have sn** on the ground already

So are saying your job was a pain in the ***?

:lmao:

Nice to have you back J.R.

Time to go!!!!! Off to Mickey Land.

Have a great Easter everyone!!!!!

AKA. The FairyGodmother who forgot to change her log in back after chat on Friday.

Have a safe and wonderful trip FG!!

So very sorry. Hope things worked out and somewhere between here and page 1 I will find out everything is okay.

I don't think anyone has heard anything yet :grouphug:

Nope thats was Jasmine

......and Stacey Tee-hee

Same here. I get scared in all high places. Even (and I really shouldn't say this as someone here is bound to drag me out there just out of spite) the front of the ship on Deck 10.

....out of spite, or just for a few laughs popcorn:: :duck:

That's where you go through recovery in an alley.

or a flophouse

:lmao:

I gave up & went to the doctor to check out my left shoulder - I've had constant pain. So, I've joined the walking wounded although my probelm is not as severe as some of our other DISers. I am not to use my left arm - I've got a sling - taking vicodin - and after spring break I go back for an MRI. I kept thinking that it would just go away. Wrong!

I won't miss have a bunch of fun w/my DGKs next week though - one armed or not!!

Hope everyone is having FUN on vacations.

Later, Chris

I hope you feel better real soon. Those kick a** meds should surely help!!
What are you remodeling??

My entire downstairs needs to be repainted and the formal living room needs the wallpaper taken down (what was I thinking when I picked that hideous stuff out  ) and new furniture. Not the the refund is going to cover it all, but it sure will help. I have 6-8 kids in my house all day, every day and boy can they ruin a paint job in no time flat :rotfl:

3 am.. hmmm is this an insominacs(sp) meeting? .. LOL

Either that, or stumbling back to the cabin after last call:rotfl:

After leaving the library we had to stop and my Uncle Al's place for a few minutes. My Uncle Al lives a mile behind my mom's place. This area was the area that got hit very hard by the tornado on February 2nd. I had my camera with me, but I could not bring myself to take any pics of what I saw. It's been two months since the tornado went through, yet I still had tears coming to my eyes from what I saw a few minutes ago. One of the trailers that was destroyed was the one that my brother Pete and his girlfriend were looking to rent last fall, the family that was living in that trailer are all gone. :sad1:

Looking at what I just saw, gives me a new appreciation for what I have, it may not be much compared to what others have, but it's mine, and I'm thankful for it!!!

Aww, Andy  . You're right, it does put things in perspective, though

My son just started health this term, so we'll see.

Notice came home last night that DD will be seeing "the movie" next week  . Man, they do grow up fast!!

At any rate, we got a prety good deal for hotel in Vegas with Hotwire. We took a 4 star for only $75 (87 with fees and taxes) and got the Westin off Flamingo. It was selling for $185 + 9% taxes if booking directly when we bought through Hotwire... so the savings was a little over 50%. PLUS, the place is more our preference with a small casino and lack of provokcative cocktail hostess attire. The pool is smaler then we like but it's contemporary, mildly upscale and HEATED. So that suits us fine.

Aside from all the "me" stuff... I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I hope to visit on the thread this weekend... probably late saturday and sunday evening if I'm not too zonked on returning home. I'll try to add another edition of 7 questions now before I sign off for this day...

I love Hotwire. Have gotten some great deals. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter

Well gotta run till later....

DH is coming home for lunch so i gotta get something ready...

Well, MY DH came home early from work and went onto the computer and logged me out of the DIS. The only problem with that was that I had spent all that time with ketchup and muti-quotes and POOF, gone they went. . Honey, you can go back to work now

Everytime I read this I think of a comedian I once heard talking about his friend "J.B." who was having trouble with the DMV because they wanted his name and he only had initials, so he wrote on the license application: "J (only) B (only)" and his license came back made out to Jonly Bonly.

Choked on the drink on this one :lmao:

Mary Ann organized this for us on the 10-day HC and it was a lot of fun (mostly the girls picking on me). Even SWMBO enjoyed it and said it was a highlight of the trip.

Now, I don't remember anyone picking on you :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Morning, hope it warms up for you soon, I will blow some of our hot stuff to you.

Oh please, blow some our way....it's freezing here today:cold: :cold:

Congrats, even if you are a wobbly-legged, rum-soaked wench.

I think there is a compliment in there somewhere :scratchin :scratchin

I haven't been on the boards for a little while (traveling for conferences)
Has anyone that is on a guarantee received any more room numbers for this sailing?

Nope, nothing, nada, zero :sad1: , how 'bout you, J.R. ?

You would think they would have a method of screening out handstamp re-entries from entries. (I don't know that they do, but from a marketing perspective, counting re-entries could tell you if people are leaving for lunch, dinner, etc.)

Now, as for one person visiting the same park on multiple days like you, you are right that attendance doesn't tell the whole story since you don't know if people are coming in for a little while or all day. I often wonder about the Epcot numbers in years past b/c I know we'd be there every other night for dinner when we stayed at BC.

I seem to recall that for attendance figures, they only count the first park you enter. So, above, your attendance at EPCOT wouldn't count if you'd gone somewhere earlier in the day.

Also, remember that Disney doesn't actually release their numbers, the best out for public consumption are educated guesses. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney did track the traffic patterns between parks, how long we stayed there, and anything else they could track.

No one ever knows what is going to happen, on a UK dis thread last year there was a disscussion about a Virgin flight to USA, leaving late each day for two weeks, I commented that wasnt good service by Virgin. ( and unusual for them).

The next morning the 'security issues' at UK airports started ( liquids) and one 'poster' thought it would be good to make a dig at me that for saftey and security it didnt matter if planes were delayed.

It annoyed me as how could I know what was going to happen, my comments were correct in normal circumstances and a genuine way, on the knowledge I had at that time, I wasnt party to Mi5's investigations.

The cruise incident is not good two people lost their lives, and the ship went down quickly. But due to other very 'visable and terrible' news stories in the UK at the moment it hasnt made it to Air a lot.

People are just quick to jump on others. Yesterday, when I read about the ship , someone (I forget who it was, captain maybe) made a big stink. It's nothing, we closed the watertight doors and nothing to worry about. Now today when I looked I saw the darn thing sunk!!! And it isn't on the news programs as much either. But you're right about Virgin being late. I flew on them and found them to be really efficient. On the trip home apparently someone snuck into the bathroom and lit up a cigarette. WEll the stewardess got on the speaker and announce they were going to go up the aisles and when they sniffed the culprit they were to turn them in the authorities. I almost lost it. The visual of them going up the aisles smelling everyone w was too hysterical.:rotfl2:

That's what we've been asking ourselves - how the h*** do you fail health? It's an EASY A! Come to find out he's hasn't been doing the work, not paying attention in class, etc., all because he doesn't like the teacher. When he was described to me it brought back vivid memories of some of my college professors - you know the ones, sit or stand at the front of the room, recites some info at you, gives you an assignment and that's that - basically a talking robot. We've been trying to get it into DS's thick skull that the teacher doesn't care whether he passes or fails but he needs to. So, no video games and no Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments until we see the next 5 week progress report.

Lorri, I almost failed gym in College:eek: I had gotten married during the summer and one of the upcoming classes was one of those sex educational ones sponsered by Tampax. Well, being the worldly married woman I was at 20, I decided that was something I had no reason to attend. However the head of phys ed didn't quite agree with me and refused to give me a passing grade and gave me an uncompleted. Said when I attend the class I will get the passing grade. Took another elective. After all it was the Fashion Institute of Technology :lmao: :lmao:
