I can't find my groundhog post on my computer. I thought it was in a scrap doc on my desktop. It must be somewhere near my marbles.

Was I ever in chat? I can't remember. Honestly.

:wizard:

Folding? What's that? Just dump 'em in the drawers. No one will notice.

Nah. Train up the 10 year old to fold clothes. He does a rotten job, but he's getting a lot better. ;)

This guy and his girlfriend had had been dating for over a year, and decided to get married.

One day his girlfriend's 18-year-old sister called and asked him to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when he arrived. She whispered to him that soon he was to be married, and she had feelings and desires for him that she couldn't overcome. She told him that she wanted to make love to him just once before he got married and committed his life to her sister.

The man stood there for a moment, then turned and went straight to the front door and walked towards his car.

His future father-in-law was standing outside. With tears in his eyes he hugged me and said, "we are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

The moral of the story?

Always keep your condoms in your car.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm glad he's okay! This story reminds me of when DS had a big fall. We had a class C RV once & we put DD & DS (I think around 5 at the time) on the top bed above the driving compartment. Anyway, stupid me I thought if I put them front to back instead of side by side, they would not roll out. Big mistake! DS fell off in the middle of the night! OMG I thought we killed him!!! :scared: He told us his back hurt really bad, but he did not hit his head & he just wanted to sleep! I wanted to unhook everything (which would've been a nightmare in the middle of the night) & take him to the hospital. DH said to wait till morning & if he was still in pain we would take him to the ER to get checked out. Needless to say, DH slept up on that bunk & the kids slept with me on the back bed. I was afraid to let DS sleep & I think I watched him for about an hour to make sure he was breathing okay. Next morning? Up running around the campsite like nothing ever happened! Amazing how resilient they are!

DS still vaguely remembers the incident, but I know DH & I will always feel guilty that we put them up there that night. DH just mentioned it again the other day, that he has reaccurring nightmares about it. :guilty:

We rented a Class C this spring for a regional field trial. Both boys above the cab too. though I had them sleep the regular direction. big borther was towards the front and little borther was towards the opening. when I went to bed little brother's sleeping bag (way bigger than him) was draging him over the edge. I shoved everything back up and way into the middle. :rolleyes1

The next night little brother was towards the front. And big brother was towards the opening. No one fell out of bed.

I'm gonna have to use that term for DS1!!!!! Why do I have the feeling that between our sons and maybe a few others something is bound to happen to TPC locks?!?!

Maybe we need to outfit them in these to warn the kids' clubs crew?

When you find the secret, please share!!! Glad you are back with us.:cool1: We need to plan a mini meet sometime in June. Okay????:confused3

Hi Everyone
Only a few minutes to play ketchup before Survivor, but just wanted to share a little good news in the household this evening.....

We thought we were going to owe Uncle Sam (lots) this year (DH thought he messed up in moving investments around), but got the word tonight we are getting a refund from Fed & State     : (post #13 is definately appropriate). Since I am remodeling this summer that sure comes in handy!!!

Glad for your refund. We owed two both.:sad2:

I was going to try to ketchup, but I am out of time. Hope everyone has a great week. We leave tomorrow around 10:30 to catch our plane and head down to WDW to meet some of our nice friends here on the Dis. Then we are heading to PC to leave on the Magic. :cool1:
Talk to you all when we get back.

Paula, have a wonderful trip. Are you chatting tonight???

Oh, we win the evil parents award easily. We take one gift that comes in multiple pieces and wrap it in separate boxes. (I wanted to take a lego set and split up all the pieces and wrap them in separate boxes -- I am thinking of buying a small lego set for Easter and putting each piece in a different egg and scatter them over the house!)

We'll wrap video games and then put them inside shirt boxes so the kids think they are clothes. We'll hide gift cards in pockets of pants we buy them so they think they are getting clothes.

If I am spending this much on Christmas, then, by golly, I am going to get some enjoyment.

:wizard:

You are my idol. I bought legos for my DGD. What a great idea. I have about 80 empty eggs to hide for her.:rotfl2:

I just got back from taking my mom to her local library to drop off some hard boiled eggs for the kids Easter Egg Hunt that will be held on Saturday. On our way there I saw a sign on the side of the road and stopped the car to take a pic of it, which I have attached below. ;)

After leaving the library we had to stop and my Uncle Al's place for a few minutes. My Uncle Al lives a mile behind my mom's place. This area was the area that got hit very hard by the tornado on February 2nd. I had my camera with me, but I could not bring myself to take any pics of what I saw. It's been two months since the tornado went through, yet I still had tears coming to my eyes from what I saw a few minutes ago. One of the trailers that was destroyed was the one that my brother Pete and his girlfriend were looking to rent last fall, the family that was living in that trailer are all gone. :sad1:

Looking at what I just saw, gives me a new appreciation for what I have, it may not be much compared to what others have, but it's mine, and I'm thankful for it!!!

That is why you are so special.:thumbsup2 YOU care!!!:grouphug: :grouphug:

Hi Everyone!

It's still a.m. here - using only my right arm is slowing me down somewhat but I'm getting everything ready for the arrival of my 2 older DGKs tomorrow. I'm so excited as I'll have all 3 for the entire week and we're going on adventures !!
Happy Easter!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Chris

I haven't been on the boards for a little while (traveling for conferences)
Has anyone that is on a guarantee received any more room numbers for this sailing?

Hi Chris....Sorry to hear about your arm.... My DGM is having arm trouble too except they can't give her an MRI. (She has a fused spine from about 10 yrs ago with screws)

Anyway maybe with DGK's around they can be of some assistance to you.

No room numbers here.

My DS10 was talking with his grandfather last week and somehow they ended up on the topic of tattoos. GF was in the Navy in Vietnam and talked about guys going out for tats and coming back all sore. DS said he didn't know tattoos hurt so I made sure to tell him how they use really long needles and how they hurt for months afterward. Maybe that will discourage him.

:wizard:

Don't count on it. My oldest DD hated needles. At 16, we had to sit (yes, literally!) on her to give her a vaccination.
The day she turned 18, she went and got a huge tattoo. Go figure. :confused3

I can barely remember watching Star Wars for the first time from the back of my parents van at the drive-in.

(does that tell how old i am?)

Which? Van? Drive-in? or Star Wars?

MOM/DAD/older adult, you meant minivan right? MOM/DAD/older adult, what's a drive in? MOM/DAD/older adult, you mean those old low tech Star Wars movies?

I would NEVER post random fluff to either increase my post counts or push towards a pirate: . Honestly.

BTW, 99 bottles of beer on the wall.....

:wizard:

More like 333 bottles of beer on the wall....

7 "EMERGENCY" QUESTIONS!

1) What 2 things would you grab and run with BY HAND (aside from a spouse or child/children) if an emergency evacuation moment arose on a cruise ship? Passport and wallet...and camera

2) Same question at home (keep answers interesting - but NO personal secret info revealed please - for your protection!) the dog & car keys so I can move the cars away from the house

3) Do you have an "Emergency Plan" established for your family? IE... if you lost touch with one another in a huge public emergency do you have any plans or understandings with loved ones? We have had, but probably need to revise now that the kids are older

4) Do you get thrills or chills from Movies depicting "EMERGENCY" themed thrillers? Like the movie "Speed" or "Earthquake", or movies with tangental emergencies as in BACKDRAFT or similar? Chills..especially fire. Fire scares me more than anything

5) Do you know or have you in the past been trained in any first aid? Can you do CPR in a pinch? Do you know your rights and liabilities? Trained CPR, guess I should know my R & L but I don't

6) Have you ever performed emergency 1st aid Yes, a couple of times. Once as a lifeguard, and once at the scene of a car accident

7) What was the last "emergency moment" that you personally experienced? I guess I've been extremely lucky, because I can't think of one recently. Tornado in Nebraska in '75 I suppose.

Probably Tacony-Palmyra Drive-in... Original oldie low Tech Death Star Star Wars... Original release dates

As for van...that was pre-minivan days.... i remember it being a larger van. They sold pottery at the Flea Markets in those days (but i was so little i only remember bits and pieces; oh wait i musta broke something). They sold over at Columbus Flea Market too (in NJ). The only thing i remember about Columbus was Maurice- the bootleg tape guy and the fresh roasted peanuts.

and yes my mom, my dad, and me, and i guess baby sis....(she would have been less than a yr old)

Drive-ins were fun back then and had swings and stuff.

Oh well, it was worth the effort.

Glad you are back with us.:cool1: We need to plan a mini meet sometime in June. Okay????:confused3

Thanks and agreed -- let's wait for the weather to get a little warmer. June ought to about do it. :sad1: We had soccer practice Wednesday night and will practice again tonight -- in long johns, parkas, ski masks and gloves. It is TOO cold for April.
