Speaking of bullys...did anyone hear about the girls in WA who poisoned their teacher?

http://www.ktvb.com/news/regional/stories/NW_033007WABteacherpoisonedLJ.16928974.html

They didn't want to get into trouble for not having a bad progress report signed by their parents. So instead, they put straberry lip gloss on their teacher's coffee cup KNOWING that the teacher has a severe allergy to strawberries! :sad2: But they didn't use a real strawberry 'cause they didn't want to kill teach, just make her sick. Ahhhh the thinking of 12-year-olds.

So now the girls are expelled from school, detained in juvie and are charged with assault in the second degree....

:scared1:

It has been beautiful here but ...... they are talking SN*W  in this area later in the week. It may not happen but just to talk about it is bad! What is up with that? :confused3

Us too and I just finished putting away all my winter clothes - guess I'll be climbing into the attic to get out a few things.

I'm on my soapbox here...I hate it when people think they are exempt from doing the right thing just because mom, dad, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, mother's cousin's boyfriends sisters husbands daughter, works in law enforcement! We have told DS that just because dad is a police officer it does not give him the right to behave any way he wishes and that if he breaks the law he will face the consequences of doing so.

Stepping down now...

ITA!!

Well, except for the time in high school when DH (DBF at time) was pulled over for speeding in a neighboring suburb IN MY DAD'S CAR. We couldn't find the registration in the glove box so the officer threatened to arrest us & impound the car. (:scared: Umm, hi Daddy, we're in jail and your car has been impounded, would you mind coming to pick us up?? Why, you ask? My boyfriend was speeding.) He took DH's license back to the cruiser & came back with a big grin on his face - he was on the SWAT team with FIL & knew all about DH being home on leave, etc. He just laughed at us and let us go.

I question if the kids were taught in the home to respect others. I believe that they were most likely not taught the needed respect or the ability to problem solve. Why didn't the parents know they had not gotten the report card?

I knew when my kids were to getting the reports. I also knew if they were not doing well in school by checking the work that was brought home.

We have to teach our kids that it is NOT ok to hurt anyone even if you think it might cover your rear. Until we begin to do that, we will continue to have kids killing kids just because you look funny. It has to start in the home, not day care, school or even church. If the parents don't teach and live it, it will not be followed. Well that is just my thoughts on that. Enough said. Lois

Hi Karen,

I was thinking of you as we were taking 295 around Richmond and I saw the exit for 64 to Williamsburg, but that was like before 7am Saturday morning. Of course, you being the early riser, I'm sure you were already up by then.....;)

Andy, I was up had eight o'clock coffee brewing and could have made breakfast for everyone!

I am always up early. I have been always an early riser!

Oh wait.... i remember a certain 1st grader who got perfume for her birthday and took it to school with her the next day. She too had a teacher with allergies who would sneeze if she smelled perfume. But the silly little girl got it into her head that she needed a "what if" project and sprayed the perfume all over the coat room where she knew the teacher would enter the classroom from. :rolleyes1

Boy did the principal yell at me and i never did get to keep my perfume....

About two weeks later, the school had no trouble letting me into the gifted program to turn my "what if's" into something productive.....

and yes the teacher sneezed her head off the rest of the day...:sad2:

I haven't done that yet but then I never put away all of the warmer clothes either. This year has been totally messed up. :( I will have to keep out a few long sleeved tops because after 5 days of 80s it is going to go down into the 60s again.

That's usually what I do but for some reason I put everything away without thinking about it (except for my Disney t-******)...it might of had something to do with DH asking me if I was done yet and the bag of clothes that I'm donating to charity because I got to skinny to wear them...

Yeah, I think one of the many indicators schools use for determing entry into the gifted programs is when the child turns the world into his/her personal science experiment! Holy cow if you have a first grader employing the Scientific Method to gather emperical evidence then it's time to put that kid to something useful!!!
