In low doses, nutmeg produces no noticeable physiological or neurological response. Large doses of 30 g or more are dangerous, potentially inducing convulsions, palpitations, nausea, eventual dehydration, and generalized body pain. In amounts of 5-20 g it is a mild to medium hallucinogen, producing visual distortions and a mild euphoria. A test was carried out on the substance which showed that, when ingested in large amounts, nutmeg takes on a similar chemical make-up to MDMA (ecstasy). However, use of nutmeg as a recreational drug is unpopular due to its unpleasant taste and its side effects, including dizziness, flushes, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, temporary constipation, difficulty in urination, nausea, and panic. A user will not experience a peak until approximately six hours after ingestion, and effects can linger for up to three days afterwards. Any unpleasant side-effects would persist throughout this period.

This sounds like a wonderful drug! :scared1:

I'd say it ranks right there with heroin and crack for the drug of choice .......

NOT!

BUT -- if the criterion for being a great album is that it changed music . . . the Beatles did it, but I would pick only Sgt. Pepper or Revolver -- probably it (the real change) started with Revolver and personally I'd go with that one-- and that would be it for them on the list. I mean, I love the Beatles, but I think 4 albums considered to have "changed" music is too much. On the other hand, I think that you could argue that Nevermind (Nirvana) and American Idiot (Green Day) did. . .

But these things are completely subjective, so this argument can only be for fun.

I agree that it is subjective and it must be for fun.

What about "Country"? I don't particularly care for it but there has to be one great artist in the same vein as the ones mentioned!

My Grandma's 98th b-day is on Saturday and we are heading up to Green Bay to celebrate. Almost every year in the past since my wife and I have been going up for her b-day, we have gotten a MAJOR storm either right before or on that day.

98! That is great:)

I posted 5 straight times in about a 30 minute span ...... what's up with that? :confused3

Here is an interesting situation...my sunscreen is frozen!
I went shopping yesterday during lunch, so it sat in my car all day.
I wonder if freezing alters the effectiveness of sunscreen.
I wonder if I am the first person in the history of the world to freeze a bottle of sunscreen.

I'm off to work. Hi Ho and whatnot.

That is very funny about your sunscreen. You are going to be in for a treat from your Alaska weather. How many hours before you leave now?

You are probably right -- although I have absolutely no knowledge at all about country. However, I think the Rolling Stones list was supposed to be for rock and roll music . . .

Okay 6 Days from the boards and you guys rack up over 100 pages ...I looked at the summaries and if there is anything important that I may have missed pm me please ...But had a greta break from the board , worked on the FJ , went 4 wheelin and a good friend came in from Chicago ...So...

Looks like you had a nice break! Don't ya worry now about a delay on the prints--we all here know how important a vacation is:)

You're right about that list. Like any list there is no way it can not be exclusive of something and biased by something (age, sex, race, place of birth, etc)

Brack, I think this is just a preview of things to come...I think Spring Fever has hit a lot of us...Those who aren't cooped up at work (like I am :headache: ) are taking advantage of the nice weather in most areas right now to GET OUT!!!! :thumbsup2
So things are a little slower around here these days...

Thanks for the get-well wishes everyone. Feeling better today - basically just have the fever and no real appetite right now. Had a killer headache late yesterday and couldn't take anything so that really stunk (& hurt). Fell asleep last night around 7 and slept until 7 this morning (at least I don't remember getting up which doesn't really mean anything as I tend to sleepwalk).

Anyway, I'll probably be around off and on for the rest of today.

Glad your feeling better Lorri. Hopefully you will be 100% soon.

That's why I thought it might be fun to 'discuss'.
I knew we could all remain civil & find out something about one another's tastes & preferences in the process.

Anyone else planning on going to the Night of Joy. My DW and I (DS too I hope) will be there then. We were at the park last year but it was sold out.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 It's a great subject and a great way to get to know a bit more about each other.

It's also made me pull out my Sgt Pepper's album (CD) to play while I DIS tonight.
:hippie:

I'm definitely going -- do you think I'd miss the opportunity to enjoy this:

Yes, that's me and yes, I was having exactly as much fun as appearances would suggest . . .

How fun Julie:)

Brack if I lived closed I would definitely go to NOJ. A few years back we had gone to 4 or 5 Third Day concerts, basically followed them around the US. They were playing NOJ and I was trying desparately to figure out how I could swing a trip but it just didn't work out. My son would absolutely kill me if I went without him.
