I know this is the dcl cruise area....

BUT I also know we chat about almost anything!

So I need advice....

Planning a special dinner for Brendan when we go in August to WDW...He likes everything so that is not the problem.....the problem is picking one!

I think I am down to Yacht Club steakhouse and Spoodles....I will take other suggestions or yea/ney for the 2 above!

Chrissie
Yachtsman is good, but I loke the restaraunt in Canada better. Or you could arrange CRT during Wishes (if it is on that night)

:figment:

BTW, Hi everyone :wave2:

I'm with Brack. There's nothing nicer than Victoria & Alberts. The menu changes regularly - depending on what's in season. Even a picky eater can find something there. Mostly it's in how they name it.

"Fresh rotini pasta in a three cheese Bechemel sauce" is nothing more than Maccaroni and Cheese! :rotfl:

We happen to have a extra ressie for Sun 8/26... You're welcome to it.

Maybe I will revisit the menu....

Wow! We will be there at the same time!

I just had to pop in and show a little Buckeye Pride....

We just beat Wisconsin...Score 66-49. Buckeyes are Big 10 Champs!!

Ohio State has won the Big 10 Championship for Football, Men's Basketball & Women's Basketball for the last 2 consecutive years!!

Hi Chrissie -- I've eaten at both . . . I really love a good steak and was disappointed (twice -- on two different trips) with Yachtman's Steakhouse. The atmosphere was great and so was the service but I just didn't think the steak deserved the price tag (and I'm willing to pay that price, but it had better be good!). Spoodles is fun, but a little more casual in atmosphere and the food is more exotic (the tapas are great). I would recommend Chefs du France, which I love. I've never eaten at Victoria's and Albert's but have never heard a bad review.

Thanks!

Awesome! We should hook up. We're staying at OKW. 8/19 - 8/29. How about you?

If you need the menu translated - let me know. They should always have chicken or beef on the menu. Actually, if you like chicken and beef - you'd do fine with quail, rabbit, and buffalo. Especially when it's well prepared (like at V&A). All three have flavors that fall between chicken and beef. Farm raised venison is similar to beef, but I've found that wild venison can have a stronger flavor and may not be to your taste. You'd probably want to avoid pheasant and elk - both can be strongly flavored ("gamey"), depending on how it's prepared.

I'd like to introduce myself (through my DS VM). My name is Vi (Verandah Gran) and I will be sailing with you on the August 2008 Repo Cruise. I'm not sure how much I will be posting since at the present time my computer is not working but my DS Rob is fixing with up with another computer and my DS Andy is supposed to bring it to me when he, Hazel and Angelina come down to Florida for a visit later this month.

For more info about me, please look in VM's post below #44199.

Welcome, Verandah Gran!

We will be there Aug 21-Sept 2...Port Orleans for 5 days then Beach Club 8 days!

I am strickly chicken/beef...I would not be able to do the other critters!lol

Fish are friends not food...and eh with por (told ya I was picky!)

Brendan LOVES all that stuff...tried to get me to eat Ostrich before!

I think I am going to take a chance and try to get a ressie....
Thanks everyone! You guys/gals are the best!

DRIVE BY.....

Naps.... ahhhhhh..... how nice!!! Just had a nice TWO HOUR one myself! :goodvibes

I'm a wicked picky eater, too. But I'm getting better, slowly, trying new foods when I feel like it. Picking ickies out of my meals that I just can't get the gumption to try instead of not ordering/eating it at all. Takes time and practice, I think.

Glad the roof didn't fall in on you Laura. ;) For my grandfather's funeral, when we went to arrange the service, my brother, uncle and I all walked into the building and all ducked at the same time. LOL Roof didn't fall in on us either. Time to get some dinner but boy did I 'LOL' at this Laura. ;) I can see myself doing the same thing!!

On another note - I was sitting in church and I came up with a great :cake: quote

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey all - since everybody must still be in recovery mode - y'all are forcing me to do :laundy:

Haven't you all heard my motto? Housework makes you :maleficen !

That's some great vacation!

Is it just you adults? We're traveling with a pack of kids. Two families, each with two boys, aged 10, 10, 6, and (about to turn) 5 at the time of the trip.

We should still try to meet up, even if it's just grown ups for you guys. We won't have the kids with us all the time! I'll PM you our "plan" - maybe we can find an overlap someplace.

We were thinking about doing a BBQ at OKW one night....

Sounds good...The 2 of us and my parents...but they like to do stuff on their own as well....we don't mind kids (I'm a teacher and if we didn't like kids would we constantly go places that are over run with them!?...lol)

I think :laundy: is the perfect form of housework when you really want to be goofing off on DIS. You "work" for about 3 minutes and get a 20-30 minute break!! (Course, that sort of depends on when you plan on folding. )

Doing :laundy: right now myself, in fact. Tthough DH is starting to grump about washing the dogs - so I may need to break here for a short bit soon. Good thing it doesn't take long to wash them - about 10 min per dog is all.

Beach Club for 8 days is awesome -- that's my favorite resort and the area around there is my favorite part of WDW . . .

Each time we go we try a new resort...Never stayed at BC but have visited!
Can't wait!

So as you can see I am overplanning this trip and our DL/CA TOAL!

:scared1: ,talk about a nightmare..[ i read your comment mr.V., about
having quads]....even though my wife "swears" that getting him was
worst ...:faint: ..and being kicked out of the nursey...(was a true story),

you have no idea the trouble this kid got us all into....someone mentioned
church..that too!, kicked out of mass...:rolleyes1 .* i forgot to mentioned,

after getting dragged to his mother's room, we fed him rice off her tray,
he ..finally went to sleep like an  . however, that's when they
insisted "no babies" sleeping on their bellies....{ that's crazy myth changes

back & forth all the time}....so wanta guess what happened when he
placed on his back?...yeah! the nurse left the room....now even though
it was like having 4 of them, can you imagined? plez! don't scared me like
that! :rotfl:

* i always heard the type of kids you have are in direct relations to
the ways you treated your parents? by that accord, i think we all
can agree..my lil'miss cutie pie was a holy terror growing up? :bride:

:thumbsup2 O'bw...though not directed my way, alot of your posts
makes me :goodvibes & this :lmao: tooo! yeah! to your caring :groom: !,
and he does look like an  too. let's just say if you put me &
grumpy together..no one could tell us apart..separated from birth is a
realistic possibility..thank goodness...i tied my wagon to a snow white..
[ the snow white @ crt picked this up from the scrapebook i made
for her]. does it count any if my hero.."merlin" :wizard: ..pssst i
do carry a "man bag" like joey [from friends]...but i refer it to "magic
bag"..though most of the food stuff has molds...anyhoo, if we meet,
like for lunch....., on me!

*...my wife would kill me if she knew i am about to comment,.....all
iam saying,...i think my lil'miss princess: ... ....shaving her legs
is so adorable [ ]...but when i try to get the camera...
& closed the door!...this is where having capt. crash 's skills could
produce pics. of a life time...or divorce court, pending her moods..
:rolleyes1 .[ but for the record..she sure makes my  jump! ]

oh by the way, cpt C., it isn't missed..your always ready and
takes great pics..we should make you in charge of group photos.
& pseical character greets! :groom: ..i promise not to stick anything
out....scouts honor, hope to stick rummie in my pirate: 's eye!

Not overplanning . . . just living the trip in advance by thinking about it a lot! I am on record saying that the planning is almost as fun as the trip. I think you will love Beach Club . . .

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

2 years ago when my uncle died - we were going to the wake when my sisters and I - 3 of us total - came to a {groan here} dead stop  and starting pushing each other to the front. LOL Would have continued too if the person behind us hadn't of ....HARUMPHED!!!! :lmao: :lmao: She then did this :snooty: as she brushed by us.

However, that didn't stop 3 grown women {over the age of 30+} from continuing - in the end, I ended up losing as I'm the weakest of all - that's ok - I then followed the example of the :snooty: and marched in right to the front of the service and they had to follow me! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Now I'm not allowed to go in front when their with me. :rotfl:

NOTE TO ALL: Of Course I only act that way when I'm with them, with my kids I'm AKA Hitler! :confused3
