I am really getting tired of all of the OFF-TOPIC stuff on this link--can't we JUST HAVE a cruise thread???? and now the flames will start! well, i have on my fireproof shorts! i am just so tired of all of the non-essential stuff on here! can we move it to another link and just have this be cruise related, Please?
thanks for the consideration!:rolleyes1

The cruise is 17 months away. For myself, there is absolutely no way I can plan that far ahead. Heck I don't even have all my plans set for my Med cruise THIS August. There are those on this cruise that start planning this early. And for those, if questions are asked, they are answered, quickly, abundantly and repeatedly when the same question gets asked a few days later.

I am enjoying chatting with everyone and getting to know them. Many people drown out the chatter and just focus in on the planning stuff. Me, I drown out the planning and focus on the chatter. To each his own.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

:yay: Me, me, me ... pick ME :yay: I've got my brother's kids for the night tomorrow night. He's got 3 kids, a 6 yo DS, and twins (DS and DD) that will be 4 in May. This will be the first time that the kids have slept out someplace WITHOUT Mom and Dad ... and it gets to be with ME :yay:

There's only one problem that I have with taking his 3 kids along with my own 2. The age differences are such that when I'm in public I find myself stopping random people to say, "Don't worry they aren't all mine" because I fear that someone will come at me with one of those pretty white jackets that button up the back and send me to sit in that nice soft room :sad2:

My neice called me last night to remind me that I told her I'd get her ice cream, and to confirm that I haven't forgotten :rotfl2:

Did I like doing this? NO!

Will I do it again? Absolutely!

It is so much better to know either way .... early! The quote earlier in this thread was: "Aspire to retire alive". I may have that wrong but that is the essence of it.

I had one done when I was 23 or so. Back then you were awake for the proceedure. I remember thinking that it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. They thought that I had an ulcer on my colon but the symptoms disappeared when I got a new job & turned in my 2 week's notice at work. Too much stress. :sad2:

What's an assigned stateroom? I thought it was just going to be on a first come, first serve basis?:confused3

I had a colonoscopy done last year. I promised Hazel I would get it done before I turned 51, so I had it done 6 days before my 51st birthday. I think the hardest part was drinking that stuff the day before, yuck. The doc said I shouldn't need to get another one done until I'm 60, I'm all for that!!! It wasn't nearly as  as I thought it was going to be.

I wasn't able to keep any of that stuff down but still had a good test. They have pills that you can take now. When I convince DH that he NEEDS to have one due to his family's history of colon cancer I am going to call around until I find a doctor who prescribes the pills.

Good Evening Everyone!!! Happy Wednesday!!

I came home from work tonight and immediately fell asleep.....

Tomorrow my DH is having MOHS surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on his left temple. A specialist referred him to yet another specialist in Princeton NJ because the lesion is laying on the nerve that controls the forehead. Now he's had a few lesions removed over the years, so the surgery isn't scaring him, but he idea that he may no longer have control over his forehead muscles has him concerned. Well I am worried about him and my first reaction.....fall into a dead sleep! Please keep good thoughts for John tomorrow, the procedure may take many hours. Thanks!

MR, I hope that your DH is doing good today. :grouphug:

Would you do it? Hm? What would you... Hm? What would any of you be willing to do, hm? Would you sail to the ends of the Earth and beyond to fetch back witty Jack and him precious Pearl? And see his Tattoo

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

I be sailing to the Med, close enough

I'd like to try the Virtual Colonoscopy next time, but my doc said if they think they see something on that, they end up having to do the "real thing" anyway. :sad1:

I don't have any big plans either...We have 2 St. Patrick's Day parades tomorrow, one that's the big one that the city puts on, and the other one is a (somewhat) smaller one that's held in the neighborhood where I grew up, a primarily Irish Catholic parish. That's the parade my parents always took us to when I was a child, and it's the one I used to go to in my younger grown-up days, because it was for the rowdy-drunk crowd...:lmao:

I'm just not feeling it so much this year though...besides it's going to be a little cold for a parade!!
So I think I'll just take it easy this year, maybe grab myself a corned beef sandwich...

I just got back from taking my DD (12) to get her hair cut. She had over a foot of hair cut off & she donated it to Locks for Love. It was down to her lower back & is now just below her shoulders. Wow what a change!

What a selfless thing for her to do. :grouphug: Her donation is going to make some little girl very happy. :goodvibes DD doesn't want to cut her hair so I have talked to her about letting it grow past her waist IF she will get it cut when it is long enough to donate and still have her hair below her shoulders after it is cut.

One more thing.........Hazel said today is the best her stomach has felt in a long time, I guess these new meds are kicking in and starting to help her!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Congrats to Angelina & glad to hear Hazel is feeling better? I think I saw something about you also not feeling well, but I'm way behind & haven't caught up yet, but you are feeling better also!

Hellooooooo Everyone!! We're home and everything went well!!! TG. We were there about 4 1/2 hrs. and DH has nine stitches in this temple, but he did not sustain any nerve or muscle damage and can still move his forehead. You know there was someone else there getting a lesion removed from their left temple too.....John asked Dr. about it and the Dr. said the left temple is the driving temple....A good thing for all of us to know. It's a good idea to use either 1) sunscreen daily, 2) moisturizer with sunscreen daily, or 3) makeup with sunscreen daily. After all is said and done, imagine that this epidsode of skin cancer was probably not from a sunburn at the beach, but rather daily driving in the car.....pretty scary huh???

Well I gonna ketchup a while....but thanks again for all your thoughts and prayer for John, he wanted me to tell you all how much he appreciated it (me too)

MR so glad things went well with John! Thanks for the tip about sunscreen. My DH has problems with growths on his face also. His has very fair skin & after working road jobs for the last 18 years, the sun has really taken it's toll.

Be glad she held out as long as she did.....my dd had hers done when she was 5.

Actually I was trying to talk her into the last couple of years or so, but she was adamant that she wouldn't have it done. I wouldn't have had her ears pierced earlier, just because I didn't want to be stuck caring for them. Now she's old enough, she can do it all herself. I'm just surprised she has made these major decisions all of a sudden in the past week & music & clothes have even become important to her. It's like she's suddenly aware of everyone & everything around her & before she was still just into dolls. It just happens out of the blue & all of a sudden they're teenagers & act like it.

Oh man....I have this terrible, irrational, paralyzing fear of sharks and when I look at this picture all I can think of is.....

da-da..............................da-da da-da..............da-da da-da da-da da-da da-da :scared:

I'm glad I'm not the only chicken around here! ;) :lmao:

This is just a drive by, because now I have to run my DD off to a birthday Luau! Hope to join chat tonight & eventually catch up on this thread!

Esteri, one more question? Do you know what type of shirt is it.Brand wise. Is it a lightweight shirt or a heavy shirt material? Just a question.

Cheryl, I'll be in chat tonite as well. You will do fine.

Sorry, thought I put it in there. They are Port Authority shirts, 6.1 oz. Think Hanes Beefy T-shirts, but I think Port Authority, is a little bit better quality. In other words - high quality shirts.

Is it Lego Robotics using the Mindstorm kits? One of the local colleges is doing a summer class for kids ages 9-12 this summer, and that's what the brocure said.

The Lego robotics league is called FIRST. Yes, they use the Mindstorms kits. Our high school has a boys and girls team. The girls team gets support from the local chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. They have a lot of fun.

:rotfl2: I just realized how much I sound like my grandma used to...talking about colons and stuff....she had scoliosis and every now and then would ask someone if they wanted to see her "hump"....
Dear Lord, please don't let me try to show someone my hump........:scared1:

Oh, on the printed stuff...a mug would be nice....ordered early....like now...so every time I make my own coffee instead of running out to Starbucks, I can remind myself that the sacrifice is all for the TOAL.

I agree with that.

We would also want t-****s either for Christmas or just in time for the cruise.

Will there be kid sizes for the tees?

TG it wasn't today instead of yesterday, I'm about 10 minutes from princeton and it took me 1/2 hour to go one mile to get kids at school. Solid 3 inches of ice/sleet/yuck.....

My DW went through the same procedure about 3 months before our wedding (12 1/2 years ago [if I did math right]). Her's was on side of nose right at face and ended up giving her a black eye. She just told everyone I slugged her.... Never had another problem with it, the procedure really gets it all!

I heard about the pills, from a lady at work, after I had my colonoscopy done.

One of Hazel's brothers died from stomach cancer in April 2004 at the age of 53, his doctor suggested that Hazel and rest of her siblings have a colonoscopy. Since Hazel had gone through it, I kind of knew what to expect.
