Cool! :cool1:

LOL
My first thought after reading this was.......be aware (or beware!) of the "souvineirs" some people get on the Magic! They should arrive next May and don't leave for about 18 years!! :rotfl2:

I have no idea what you're talking about! I'm an ...I swear. :rolleyes1 I thought about the comments I would get back on this post before posting, but figured, "what the h***!" and went for it anyway.

Those are awesome. If only this trip weren't a "surprise" I could have so much more fun shopping than I already am! I can explain tiaras and long gloves, but MMC shirts? I'm not even that good!

AGAIN, Steph...this is why I love ya and perhaps now owe you TWO drinks with a couple hours away from the bunchkins. I am so glad to be with the kids and I want to do tons together, but the time I truely cherish is time alone with joel or time alone; I think I've come to appreciate those more deeply because so many things are done as a family or with the kids that it seems "obvious" or "normal" to enjoy those things; but like spending a couple hours scrapbooking with other ladies or having a drink with adults in the even are more rare so they are special in a different kind of way.

OK OK OK...that got WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to thought provoking....but as a mom I knew most would say "time with family" or "time with the kids"; just wondered if there are a few brave ones of us who really DO appreciate a couple hours alone reading a book or with other ladies doing something for Moms instead of for kids. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT! You're awesome:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Hey, I just tell it like it is! ;)
And I can't wait to have that drink with you!

That's not right:confused:
My DS was not a very good player and his coaches made sure he played (left field-not much action, but he got up to bat regularly). DS could have been good, but he wouldn't practice.
He is in Tae Kwon Do now and doing well. He and his sis are working towards their second dan (second degree black belt).
Maybe try a martial art:confused3

Our oldest is/was a very good athelete BUT, he didn't care for team sports. So, I put him in Tae Kwon Do when he was 13 or so. He loved it and had a good time for a couple of years!

I'd said on the boards (and do did my DH joel110 long before me) that our girls didn't want to go to the kids club either! We had to request time at Palos for them not to call us just to get our "Adult dinner" in......but I'd like to say that if that happens....let's plan something for the kids to do for a while and work out a schedule to get some "BIG KID" time for us adults! If we can plan all these pirate events and such surely we can find a way to get kids engaged for a few hours with crafts, a scavenger hunt, or activities so parents can go have some time alone to enjoy each other for a while.

Consider not "splitting up" to get an hour alone....consider finding a way for all of us to get a bit of time to ourselves......if that means kids club for some; then great! if that means on a sea day some parents watch the kids swim so others can do something special then lets find a way to do that!....Thanks for the encouragement that there are others!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean that sincerely! There are days I'd pay someone's teen to babysit or watch kids in teh pool just to get a couple hours to myself or my hubby! ya never know....maybe there a couple teens who want to earn a little spending money on the trip, eh?????:stir: :stir: :stir:

That's awesome! i have two girls....9 1/2 and 7...I keep hoping the will meet others and enjoy; but i can see my 7 year old would rather be with ANYONE in the pool than with others her age in the club. HEY I COULD BE WRONG.....you always feel like as a mother you "know" your kids. I would still think that if there are some kids who aren't into the kids club we (as parents) could work out some activity to keep them entertained elsewhere while parents have some time alone.

We'll make sure that y'alls youngest meets our youngest.... I'll get Claire to tell her how much FUN the kids club is and maybe Claire can convince her to stay. ;) On the last cruise one of the other Disers realized that the thier dd paged them to get her everytime our dd left the Club! :rotfl2: I told the they should have told me when they wanted her to stay in the club and I would have arranged it! :rotfl:
With Claire you either love her or are a little overwelmed by her!!! :lmao: She is BUSY!!!!

I'm telling ya, get someones address close to the port.:rotfl2: Or have it sent to the ship. Someone posted the address.

Miserable weather here. Cable was out for a while which is unusual. We will get the shots for his knee out of the way before the trip. He still wants to operate but we told him not now, maybe later.DH didn't want to be put out and he said he can do it without .Now I think he is interested. Wound up staying home all day as the rain was so bad, I didn't want to drive back to work in it.

Isnt' that hilarious???? That' show I judge it; if they are young enough they still love ya, want to do stuff with ya, and thinks you are awesome then they are "AT THE RIGHT AGE"......about two years after that they think you are stupid, have no class, and shouldn't be "acting cool"......

When our youngest was born our oldest was 21. As dh is holding our sweet baby girl he says *When she is old enough to not want to hang out with us, we will have grandchildren that will want to hang out with us.* And he was so happy! :goodvibes

Of course we appreciate a little time (ok 15 days) away from work, families, and responsibilities - we are the ESCAPING MOMS!!!

Seriously, I am SOOOO looking forward to some "me" time. My "current" life consists of working full time before driving my DD 45+ minutes each day to her 4 hour Gymnastic practice, before dropping into bed each night. Then spending weekends trying to play "catch up" on the normal Mom stuff of groceries, laundry, making sure all homework projects have been completed (YEA FOR SUMMER BREAK), etc. I have "supported" numerous "Boys Trips" over the years and now my husband is being gracious enough to allow me to takes this TOAL. :cool1:

I certainly hope he survives two weeks of work, commuting DD, and making sure her first weeks in HS go well.:rotfl2:

Hey all.... can we talk FE for a minute please?

Using the sizes of the FE's on e-bay and the pattern posted earlier this year, I gave my SIL some basic instructions and she agreed to make one for me. It arrived today and measures 8" x 24". The sizes match up, but it looks SO small. Is that normal or should it be bigger? Maybe it's one of those, the camera adds 10 lbs type of things?

Cheers!

It sounds about right! :thumbsup2

DH has told me that if I can't find a friend to go see Donny & Marie in LV with me that he will go (if he has to!). I know I'm a dork but, I would so :rotfl: love to see D & M!!!

Mine is about 10 inches across, so not much bigger. It will be fine.

I think it's so cool that you Moms get to "Escape"! Last October , some of the ladies that I worked with at the Disney Store were planning a Girls Gone Wild Weekend at WDW.(Actually, it was a Middle-Aged Women Gone Slightly Crazy Weekend) They invited DW along, and I had to actually talk her into going without us. She had a blast and was really glad that she went. Some "alone" time is a great thing!

Well..no Mikey Mouse Club T-**** for us! Went in and started to order..they were on sale for $10.95 before names on the back...between entering the shirts and finishing the sale..they went up to $19.95 :scared1: I called CS and was informed that they had been on sale but as of 7PM EST - they went to $19.95. The first day I looked - they were $17.95 before names so now they are even higher!

Oh well..maybe I will try the transfer thing...very frustrating!

I would love to see them....such fond childhood memories :)

8) Pose a QUESTION for the NEXT person to respond to this....

What is your favorite non-Disney vacation destination?

Easy one.....

Universal Florida

Only kidding. Not a place but a state of being. Anywhere that can both blow me away and be peaceful and calm all at the same time.

Such as Grand Canyon, remote beach location, etc.

I'm telling ya, get someones address close to the port.:rotfl2: Or have it sent to the ship. Someone posted the address.

I really think it would be a dead giveaway if we had MMC shirts with our names on them waiting for us. I may be good at keeping that I know a secret, but he's not completely dense! However...we do have a wedding coordinator that knows where we're going...maybe she'll be able to hook us up with something for the ship for me and we'll just say it's from her! Hmmmm....I'm off to make sneaky phone calls now.
