I think i purposely worked full time so DD would be at daycare and not be exposed to the purple monstrousity. (BAD PARENT;) )

I had rules on 2 shows that DD could not watch when she was little..there were Barney and Teletubbies. Sometimes I know she watched Barney at day care. It's ok..I got my agression out when her friend at age 2 had a Barney pinata that wouldn't break..the parents fought over the chance to take a turn :lmao:

My kids wear long pants, but I'm not offended by others in shorts.

I have skinny boys as well. DS8 is wearing 5T & 4 regular shorts!
I buy most of my skinny boys pants at Old Navy (great sale prices) since you can adjust the waist. Target has some as well.

Old Navy? I have moderate success at Pennys for slims - but if they've got adjustable waists I'm there! Thanks!

It'd be so much easier to dress them if they weren't so skinny. On the other hand, I think I'll put up with it.

What'd everyone decide about boy sized tuxes? Rent or buy? I'm waffling.
.

 Janelle The Cinderella dress would be great. :wizard:

Hi Roger! I have been reading your posts this week, Looks like you guys had a great time meeting more disers! Gracie was trying to find Austin in the pics!

Well, if I can get away with the Cinerella dress that would make my life a whole lot easier! Now on to the guys stuff...

My goodness....you say he's 12!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks Deb.....He amazes me too!

I am an artist, but I could NEVER do what he does! I like to draw and paint from life. He makes up the craziest characters from nothing.

I just showed him all of the comments from people, and he had a smile from ear to ear!

I need to vent: (caution, long story ahead----airline problems)

My DS15 was going to a camp for our church called EFY today...it's about 5 days. We bought the tickets a long time ago for a pretty good fare. He was going with 2 other boys that were 14. It is only about an hour flight away, and he/they would be picked up personally by a towncar service to shuttle them to the location, so we were ok letting them fly by themselves.

We get a notice from Alaskan airlines saying that our flight was now operated through Delta, but nothing else changed...ok no problem. Well one of the moms got nervous about the unaccompanied minor policy since Delta's was different than Alaskan. Alaska makes it optional to fly by themselves 13-17 years old. where Delta's they had to be 15. Even this age limit at Delta was just changed a few weeks ago.
We had no notices about it from either airline, which I totally did not expect, but since she was nervous last night, we decided to all call Delta to be sure. Did not want any last minute surprises ya know? :rotfl:

The representative through Delta said that it was an Alaskan flight, and was only using the gate at Delta...all policies and terms and conditions were through Alaska, so we were ok. I relayed this to the other moms and we were feeling good.
Fast forward to this morning, I get a call from one of the moms saying the 14 years olds were not allowed on without the extra fare and other guidelines because it is not an ALASKAN flight, but a DELTA flight like we were worried about all along. They were able to refund their tickets, but now we had to drop everything and drive them to Salt Lake City (about a 5 hour drive), so now we had the cost of getting them there (gas prices :scared1: ) and they are now major late for their events on the first day. :(

Now we would have been able to drive them there no problem and ON TIME if they only would have told us the CORRECT information LAST NIGHT!! She looked up their reservations and everything and gave me the confirmation number again. I am really tired of people who should know their product....not knowing a clue about their product. They (Delta) take over flights all the time, I would think they are used to it by now, and know whose terms and conditions it falls under. I was absolutely furious this morning since it was due to someone else's misinformation. We were told all different things from both airlines, each of them denying it was their flight.:furious: :furious: :furious:

I called and complained to a manager, and will contact them through letter, but I pretty much know how that will end up.
It has been a really rotten day. :( Thanks for letting me vent, I will be over it soon. LOL

Thanks for the tips Esteri. Looks like I have a lot to do. Better get started.

Welcome!

Please tell us a little something about yourself......Like, how many Disney cruises have you been on before?

Hi and welcome aboard!

Bummer the swim suit at Land's End that I liked comes in 2 sizes - 6 and 16.. I think I'm somewhere between there :lmao:

So what's the easiest way to measure what size I'd be since I'm guessing a tape measure isn't going to work...

I have a tankini from Land's End and the bottoms are my actual pants size. I have the skirted bottom and love it. The top is a different size and I went off the measurement chart for that. Does that help? Their suits hold up really well.

We havent decided yet about the tux thing. Do local tux rental places let you rent for the length of the trip?:confused3

:)

Thank you ..I am trying to remember that. Unfortunately, DH has to put up with my long time fears of car accidents which is why I am not longer a passenger in a vehicle (which is also why I am freaking out about our excursions on this trip) When I was 21..I was in a really bad car accident..I broke a window with my head (no..that didn't cause my craziness..it was already there :lmao: ), whiplash, tore ligaments in my back, and most of all when my head snapped back and broke the window..I recieved a blood clot in my thyroid which after two years required surgery to remove (they tried to drain it for 2 years first but a test came back cancerous so they removed it)..I also crushed my knee in the door...just a peachy all around thing. We were stopped on the freeway and a DUI woman plowed into us going 70 mph. ..no insurance of course and not even her car. Anyways...as a result..I flip out if I have to be a passenger. These excursions on this trip are actually the first ones I have taken in almost 8 years on a cruise. Outside of ones that I catch at the dock and are a boat. So if you catch me looking a little green on an excursion bus..rest assured..I am okay..just a little stressed!

 Hope he is ok and feels better soon

Hey everyone!
We got our fish extenders and personalized embroidered pillowcases! ;) I'll try to take pictures and show them later. One less thing on my list of things to do........

Today I made Cherie a spread sheep for "Who is going to wear what when". I am hoping that if we plan out what everyone is wearing it will translate into less baggage. :rotfl2: Anyway I mentioned to her what are we wearing for Mouseketeer night. What, there is a Mouseketeer night? Ya, I saw it on Deb Wills blog.

I checked the blog again and saw that it was on their 11th night. I went to check the navigator for that day and no mention of it. So I emailed Deb and she said that there was no advance warning for this but should be your second Animator's Palate night (the first being the show) and to check with our servers. I remember seeing this on Andrews pictures from 2005 as well. Anyway Cherie thought that it would really cool if we got Mouseketeer shirts (at this point what is another 4 shirts). So I went to a t-**** site and came up with this.

Okay where do we find those shirts? I want them. LOL I'd rather particpate in this than pajama breakfast. LOL

I'm not liking the sound of this. Sure hope they don't make the change on the Magic
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1849566

The pirate party is in trial on the Wonder, running from 7:30 - 8:30, with no buffet. All early dinners start at 5:45, all late dinners start at 8:30.
Oh I'm not happy with that either! :(

Please say a prayer for my cousin and her family. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident early this morning. Today would have been his 43rd birthday. They have three daughters (16,13 and 10).

He just got home from Iraq about two months ago.
Oh that is horrible. :( Your family is in my prayers! so sad...... :(

I can't stand watching them tear those poor people apart and throw out everything. I watched it a bit when I first discovered it around 3-4 yrs ago but not really since. I have also seen "10 Years Younger" a few times recently.

I had more trouble watching the show at the beginning when the people didn't know anything about what they were getting into (and I think the 1st guy they had on the show was a little "meaner") Nowdays, most people know what it is when they get surprised. Also, if the person starts getting upset, they seem to tone it down. What drives me nuts are the people who refuse to let Nick cut their hair - it grows back out, just go for it!

I've only seen 10 Years Younger a couple times and the medical parts just gross me out so I usually skip it.

I ,as well, have a very skinny 9 yo boy. My son also has to wear a slim. He has proclaimed " I will only wear gap pants!" If not on sale, gap can get pricey. Thanks for asking this because I never thought of old navy or walmart! When I find a slim that fits well, I will buy all the colors that they have. Mabey I can take out the tag and convince him they are also from gap!?
If anyone is reading this that has a girl....is it acceptable for my 7yo girl to wear a Cinderella dress on formal night? I have been looking for a formal dress for her and they all look the same.(like a flower girl dress) Any Ideas or is a Cindy dress fine?
Janelle

There will be tons of other girls also in princess dresses - it is fine! Actually, that is what originally inspired Grown-Up Princess Night - all those little girls get to be princesses and we want a turn too!

Old Navy? I have moderate success at Pennys for slims - but if they've got adjustable waists I'm there! Thanks!

It'd be so much easier to dress them if they weren't so skinny. On the other hand, I think I'll put up with it.

.

Yes, I think we prefer skinny to the oposite!

DH bought a tux for DS9 on eBay. It just arrived a few minutes ago, so we'll find out soon if it fits.

It totally :furious: me to be watching a program with the kids and then all of a sudden a totally unappropriate commercial comes on. By that time it is took late and the kids already saw / heard what you didn't want them to.

I am so with you on this!! We've simply turned off the TV - not because of the programming, but because we can't trust the commercials! UG!

Roger ,

Could you post the information on the Mickey Mouse Club thing on the Pirate Zone , like where to get the shirts ....this could be a very fun dinner with all the linked pirates if they were to wear shirts as well ...

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Right.

He has an appt with our Dr for this afternoon..he says his back is spasming.

I must be having sympathy spasms. Ouch! Thoughts for your DH. Hope he checks out OK.

Thanks so much for the feedback! He will be thrilled to see such a favorable response to his artwork.

...

He sometimes gets down on himself because he has never been good at sports, but we try so hard to emphasize to him that God has given him such a wonderful gift. As adults, we know sports is not everything, but it's hard to convince a young boy of that.

:worried: Don't let him buy into that. His gifts are unique and should be cherished.

But on the serious side, ours averaged out at around $18 before tax and shipping. Such is the price of custom stuff.

Or get another Pirate shirt - they're cheaper.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
