OK found this out - may have been answered but whomever asked me to find out if Cecelia was going to be on in August - well, I've always felt guilty that I didn't find out the answer - but will this suffice? :rotfl:

We were on this same cruise. We had two little ones with us and found that Cabo and Mazatlan was nothing to be desired. We went ashor for less than an hour and returned to a not so crowded ship. Which we absolutely adored. With 90 % of the people off the ship...means a lot of free time to spend at the not so crowded pools. We also were able to spend a lot of time talking with the Cast Members and learning a lot about their jobs and the Ship.

Puerta Vallarta was nice, but we ended up going to the Paradise Beach Adventure...very nice, we enjoyed this.

We went to Brunch and Dinner at PALO. Both were excellent, but I would have to rate Brunch as being the best. We are cruising again in January '09 and will reserve Palo for several visits. Cecelia is the best server in PALO, but she is on Holiday leave until August.

The entire trip as far as being on the ship was the greatest, we love Disney and they do a great job in making you feel very special. If you have never cruised with Disney before...get to know your dinner serving staff. This will make your trip all the more fun. The dinner cast members enjoy getting involved and talking with their guests...if you get a chance ask for Petr (from Czek Republic) he is great and interacts with the kids.

As far as adult entertainment, try to go to the activities organized with the Cruise entertainment staff (Trent, Oscer, Natalie, Luke, etc...), they are hysterical and enjoyable. Bingo is fun with Natalie. On the last night of the cruise go to Diversions to watch "Pub Night"...this is when the Cruise Staff puts on skits....SO FUNNY....you cry.

Also, make sure you go to the Pirates of the Caribbean Party on Deck 9 on Thursday Night....it is great....Fireworks and all.

Again to compare our Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise to the Mexican Riviera Cruise....I think the Caribbean Cruises are a lot nicer ports of call. But regardless the Disney Ship is always the greatest.

No. :( Dh could only take off the 3 wks and we knew oldest dd was planning on going to WDW for her 25th b-day. So, we wanted to meet them in WDW.

Are you going to be in WDW after the cruise? I will be there until the 8th...just gotta take advantage of that free dining! :cloud9:

Hey guys, I just answered a question on Palma Sola and thought -what the heck, so I'm copying the 2nd post to here.

Hope this helps anyone with this excursion:

OK - back to Palma Sola - if you and your kids are active - this shouldn't be a problem. However, please be smart and take lots and lots of sunscreen. We got there about early afternoon and we sweated way too much. Take a hat - you will need it. There is only one bathroom at the entrance and you are only given 5 minutes (supposedly) to use it - of course, the woman take forever and I would take TP or kleenex just in case. The bathroom were in working order and they did have TP but I was at the head of the line.

Bathrooms were clean but they did not have paper towels to dry your hands. If you go in August - you shouldn't have a problem with drying your hands.

Again, I would recommend this one - especially for kids over the Sierra Madre Hike. That one is a bit more difficult and the entire hike is single file which makes it just a bit harder to keep an eye on the kids. Also, starting June it hits mosquito season so you will want to take mosquito repellant for either one of these journeys.

Here is a sample of the rock trail -

This is the beginning of the trail and the walking sticks are mandatory. Also forgot to mention that you cannot touch the rock carvings. This is stressed several times. Reason - the oils on your hands can damage these carvings and some of these date back to 2500 BB - 500 years before Christ. A lot of the early (lower) carvings are really hard to see but you can take a picture of the signs and then the rock to make out what you see.

Here is a sample of one of the carvings:

This is one of the better ones - so I hope this helps your decision - remember the mosquito repellant - SUNSCREEN a must and water!

I'm curious if her quote of "June being mosqito season" is for our entire trip or just for this port. I had not thought of bug issues, so should I be stocking up on my avon skin so soft sunscreen instead of regular???

Hi Poohlover - the guide was the one that mentioned mosquitos both here and in Puerto Vallerta. Especially in Puerto Vallerta which was repeated many times. We had the Off Mosquito repellant which we were allowed to use only at the beginning of the excursions. We were told that come humidity season (usually starting June) - they can become a problem. If your prone to getting bitten - like my older dd is - take plenty of protection. I got bitten twice and both were actually on the ship but those little buggers hurt like the dickens!

But seriously, please don't forget the sunscreen - the mosquitos you can live with - the sunburn will bit you in the but later. I didn't notice much of a problem on the Caribbean side but once we hit Acapulco - I noticed I had one or two bites I didn't have on the other side.

Love it! Why not leave it plain and hang a sharpie on the side and let us all autograph it with our Dis names? It could be the cruise equivalent of a cast!

What an intriguing idea. If my attempt to iron on the graphics fails, I'll take that approach.

Hi everyone- haven't been around for a few days and TRIED to catch up but simply don't have enough time to read all the pages.

did i miss anything about the kids secret mickey? I still haven't received an email about that and I signed up/sent the info for my kids way back when this was first started... and still no email. I'm worried they aren't on the list? Please don't tell me I purchased stuff for like almost a year and then my kids aren't on the list? :confused3

So how is everyone? I hope things are going well for everyone. Keeping busy here with Ruby having band camp every morning this week and just swimming with the kids/etc. each day. It's been hot and sunny- but today was VERY windy. Ohwell- i'd rather have wind than rain. hehe

That is a brilliant idea! Now I want one like that! LOL :rotfl2:

Just another really quick check-in. I have my bags packed, have to get DS's done tomorrow. We leave early Saturday morning for San Pedro.
Not sure yet if I'll do a trip report in that section of the DIS, or if I'll just post on the 6-8-08 Magic & Mickey to Mexico thread. I'll try to let you know, in case you have questions. Otherwise, check both sites. :thumbsup2

I'm soooooo ready......and soooooooooooooo excited!

Hey BIP - So sorry there's been some sort of miscomunication - I sent a confirmation the first time you sent me your info and again when you PM'd me in May but I responded via PM at the tail end of May, then I posted here on the thread that you were good to go. Sorry you must of missed it. The SM will be sent out - INCLUDING the kids- by mid-June. Rest assured, there are others in your same boat. Your gifts will not be wasted.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This just reminded me. Last time in LA we got on the ship on Deck 4 and were escorted down to deck 3. Anyone hear if we are doing the same thing this time?

Well, if the graphics don't fail, just wear a fake cast and we'll autograph that . . .:rotfl2:

Glad to hear that things went well for your daughter. We'll keep her in our prayers for a speedy recovery.

I have a question to everybody, or at least those that are online now. LOL

The t-**** orders....is everyone buying them for the ENTIRE family or group, or just for the adults in your party??
I am trying to decide to order the embarkation t-shirts for my whole family, or just for Jared and I. Is anyone buying the embarkation shirts for the kids?

We got t-****'s for the whole family, but we only got the white ones. We'll be wearing those on embarkation day.

That was me! She was our server on our first Wonder cruise and we have seen her every one since. So all of August she is gone???:(

Here she is with our server Dario on the Wonder
