Are any of the other moms as *dorky* as me and scouring Etsy & Ebay for some cool Custom Disney outfits for their dd's????

Claire has tons from past trips -- and she is small enough and hardly ever grows so, a bunch still fit her..... But, what girl doesn't want a few new things???? ::yes::

I am betting on having the cheapest/ugliest Fish extender on board.

My formula:
- One old white T-Shirt (cut horizontally to get a "loop")
- Fabric glue & some needlework to bind the sides and form the pockets
- Two wooden dowels for the top & bottom
- T-Shirt iron-ons for the decorations.

We'll see how it survives :cool2:

The mail man came and left a box of Ebay goodies:

We have the blue on the right! Kev has the shirt,I have the sundress.

Sounds like you are stuck for this one! You can't very well have just imagined that you might need a hanging door organizer without knowing where you were going, or that so many people would randomly be able to find you! People sometimes just hang a tote bag or something on the fish, but again it would be difficult to explain how you knew to bring FE gifts or that we knew where you were . . .

Yeah, I know. One reason why I should never have tried to even figure out what we're doing. Oh well! My bad. Live & learn. :)

Or we can hope that he caves and tells me about the trip he's planned for us!

You know you're traveling - how about getting some sort of closet organizer/shoe holder or something. Your paranoia about being able to organize yourself in your hotel room can be written off as a charming quirk. Then you can just happen to hang it on a fish, and just happen to have some sticky velcro or something that you can use to glue on some disney patches/decorations you get onboard?

Hmmmm....something to consider....find something with a dual purpose that can be a FE once we get on board but that he thinks is for something else...hmmmmmm

What time should we be at the port if we're scheduled to leave at 4p? It seems to me that everyone is getting there before noon. We're coming up from SD after our wedding night and can't imagine that we will want to be up too early after our long day before. I think I've talked FI in to planning to be up in LA by 1p, but is that too late? Should I convince him that we need to be even earlier? I can come up with some excuse. :)

So I have a dilema...I'd love to get in on the FE, but I'm....
1. Not supposed to know we're coming....therefore....
2. Can't purchase and bring a FE with us.

You could purchase one without names, ship it to one of the other people here then happen to run into this "saint" who had another once on board....

I am gonna try and Ketchup... been way to busy at work et al... be back soon

Thanks for this info. Do you know if you need to call Verizon in advance to let them know you'll be making international calls or be at sea?

What she said! I have activated international calling, but don't know if I need to have a special plan.

Thanks for this info! I also have Verizon, but I was wondering if you need to have any special "plan" for these rates. Do you happen to know? TIA!

Yes, we go every year - the house where it is held belongs to a good friend and is only about 3 blocks from my home. They have borrowed our party tents last year and this year so there is some shade - they get setup to the side so they don't destroy the old-fashioned view of the house and lawn. I don't dress up for it! My friend and several of the folks from the museum to that part. Last year it was really hot and humid and they were all pretty miserable in those costumes.

Thank you! That is really nice. This is definitely the type of fundraiser I like - no one is buying anything they don't want! We started it in December (a little too late for the Xmas shopping season) and have earned about $200 so far. It isn't "big money", but every bit helps and I am hoping that it will grow as we get the word out to more parents, teachers, relatives, friends, etc.

We also bought both - DH will wear his after the cruise when he is working on the house and garden, I'll wear mine to the gym and around the house and DS loves wearing shirts from past trips just about anywhere.

For Mexico in the past, I have just called and made sure the International service was enabled for my phone. THose rates are the "Standard Rates" meaning that you don't have any special International Plan. The phone just has to be enabled so that it will work outside the USA which takes about 2 seconds.

Pamela

You don't have to have a special plan unless you plan on making / receiving a lot of calls. Check with your carrier what the cost of the international plan, usually a lesser $ per minute, and compare it to the cost per minute without the plan and decide which will work better for you.

When I was in London last year the international plan didn't work for us because we didn't plan on making a lot of call so we just chose the per minute option. Just make sure you have a phone that will work outside of the U.S. your carrier can tell you that or you can look it up online at their site

These rates apply to any Verizon plan. You must have "International Roaming" activated on your phone before you leave your home area. There is no charge for this activation.

Yes, call Verizon customer service before you leave your home area and ask them to activate "International Roaming". There is no charge for this activation. If your party has multiple cell phones, each line has to be activated in order to make or receive calls/text messages while out of the country.

I guess I'll be call Verizon before I go... I was thinking that I wanted to check on the kids daily..

I've seen a lot of people recommend clear shoe organizers to help organize bathroom stuff... You could bring something and say it's for that because you like to be organized in the bathroom and then when you "find out" about the FEs hang it outside hehehe.

More to think of. We'll have to see what we can do. I may be sending one of you a PM later. ;)

You may want to think about one of the LA area folks who don't have the same luggage restrictions those of us flying do....

I have been trying to find a link to see a photo of the pin(s) for this cruise. Does anyone know where to direct me?

Does anyone know if they used the same process as they did on the Med repo?

I think you're getting the whole sneaky thing down cold:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Let there be light! We have power. YAY!

Here's my last 24 hours or so...
Yes, we have big, beautiful, 'mature', giant trees...
2008-06-05_03-54-20.jpg

For scale - that's a 2500 sq ft 2-story colonial amongst the trees
This is an almost 10-year-old amongst the trees
2008-06-05_03-52-59.jpg

This is what happens when said big beautiful trees loose a branch
2008-06-04_14-07-16.jpg

Notsobad, considering what happened down the street
2008-06-05_08-33-43.jpg

Thus the reason we didn't have power - that's a tree laying on the road and a power line 1/2 block from our house. Similar situation smashed a car 2 streets over.

Oh well, tomorrow we'll be at Busch Gardens.

Good idea...if I find a FE and purchase it, I'll post to find a local who'd be willing to bring it for me. Hadn't thought about luggage restrictions since we aren't flying until we come home. Ooops! My bad. Sorry! :)
