Speaking of news.. Yesterday my dads oncologist calld me to tell me about a lab report he had taken on MONDAY.. My dads level is 64 for a CA-19-9. That is the Pancretic indicator.. most people with out any pancreatic cancer has a normal reading of 50 or below!!! ..

I was so so... so happy and called my dad and he actually thanked me.lol He is a very humble man.. So I can say at this point my dad actully kicked BUTT!!!
Thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts for my dad and family.. It means the world to us!!

I think he'd figure out that I knew about the cruise! Now....how to get my wedding gown aboard to wear for the "Princess" night! Hmmmm.....putting my thinking cap on now. I'll take any excuse to wear my beautiful gown and fun shoes again.

Didn't he tell you that you needed "Formal" stuff? It's your honeymoon - what is more formal and appropriate than a wedding dress? Actually, I like Tom's idea of the portraits (this seems to be a common thing at most formal events - not just cruises) - only problem is that you probably have about a million photos being taken at the wedding....

Maybe you should make plans with someone with a good loud voice for you to "run into" and just happen to strike up a conversation at the terminal who can then make an announcement to "that crazy pirate group" along the lines of "hey everyone - meet Jen and her husband - they just got married yesterday - isn't that cool!" and then if anyone seems to recognize you on the cruise you can write it off that they must have been with that group in the terminal ....

That's awesome! I'm glad they will all know each other!!!! I think my girls are likely too young to know who the other kids are out on the "kids thread"...being 9 and 7 i just quickly (and fleetingly) thought name tags for those who didn't buy wristbands or lanyards would be nice; but it sounds like everyone is doing one of those so that makes my job EASIER (nothin' like offering something no one wants right?????? means you feel good 'cause you offered but ya also didn't have to do anything!!!! he he he he he he he he

If I understand right, you were offering peel n stick type nametags we could wear on the first day? If so, we don't have any of those yet. The nametags being worked on are to slide into the plastic pouch that will hang on the lanyards.

Perhaps that is why some are doing the t-*****, some wristbands, and for maybe others we could have some sort of "table" or something as people are boarding to make nametags (with our pirate logos and/or IDs on them) that people could pick up if they were interested. I'd be willing to do that if there was some way of working that out and/if others were interested

Ordered the T-*****,wristband - let me know I'd be glad to help with nametags or maybe small pins???

I like the name tag idea especially when we first get on board so I can recognize who is who? I stink when it comes to remembering names. I think Chrissie (mkygrl) was creating tags to attach to the lanyards so if you are thinking of stick on tags I think that's different? I'm sure Chrissie will pop in & let us know.

Edited to add: Not that I'm really worried because I think I know where I'll find SOME people every night...at the bah!!! wink wink

That is exactly what I'm offering as "my gift to ya'll" If anyone is interested I'd be happy to do that on day 1 so we can identify each other....but I certainly understand if other things are in the works

Yes, the house is insane....it started out that they were going to downsize and build a 1 story....... the next thing we know they had to buy 2 lots and are building a Mansion!!! 6dd calls it *A mansion for old people*

They do have out of town guests several times a year. so, that is why then wanted so many bedrooms.... There are 2 libraries -- MIL & FIL each have their own. They have lived *seperately* for the last 28 yrs. She has lived downstairs & he lives upstairs. And that's how it will be in the new house. Which is why there is an elevator.

Separately in the same house... Sounds strange to me!

Romper Room was a syndicated kids show. There were different Miss XXX's all over. I can't even remember who ours was....Miss Maryann maybe??

Anyway, at the end of the show she would take out her magic mirror and 'see' all of her friends. We always listened intently to find out if she saw us. I don't think I ever heard my name.

So when the pirate was lurking, I took out my Magic Mirror and named who I saw online at that time.

i remember romper room! i don't remember ever hearing my name said either.

Julie & Wendy will figure out the logistics of pick-up & loading the 3 buses. These are full size buses and just to make sure there is enough luggage space I sent an email to the company expressing our concerns - including car seats & seat belts questios and stopping for "supplies."

Evening all!

WOO! HOO! We are free and clear for the TOAL!
The parent meeting for dd's choir was tonight and they are not starting choir practice before school starts!
I was sweating this out as the choir director is very strict about attendance. Now that dd is in the Ensemble she can only miss 2 practices in each semester. So I'm happy that that worked out, but choir messes up my 30 year Capitol Page Reunion in DC in Oct, because of a mandatory all day workshop on that Saturday! Oh well, can't win them all!

Do they have any good seafood or just good cheese steak?

I'm looking for more Philly info, but had to respond to this. Dimitries is a great place for seafood. It's very small, BYOB, not really an open grill like you imagine. It's two Asian guys cooking Greek seafood on a grill in a store front. The food is fabulous. Whole trout, octopus, shrimp scampi & calamari.

We have reached $5 a gallon here in CA. I tried to snap a pic with my cellphone but couldn't figure out how to zoom.

Granted it was Chevron (the most expensive chain out here) and for the premium.....but $5.04 per gallon.
