We are ordering our shirts tonight. I think we are getting the black ones. Is anyone getting two?:confused3

Evening all!

WOO! HOO! We are free and clear for the TOAL!
The parent meeting for dd's choir was tonight and they are not starting choir practice before school starts! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I was sweating this out as the choir director is very strict about attendance. Now that dd is in the Ensemble she can only miss 2 practices in each semester. So I'm happy that that worked out, but choir messes up my 30 year Capitol Page Reunion in DC in Oct, because of a mandatory all day workshop on that Saturday! Oh well, can't win them all!

woohoo! Glad it all worked out! :cool1:

We just ordered the black.

Please, we paid $57,000. for ours 15 yrs ago! 1600sf,all brick,3BR,1 1/2 B,2 LR,2CG and a huge corner yard.

Our first home was that price! :) It was a 3 bdrm 1 3/4 bathroom. It was brand new construction (all of our homes have been brand new) so the price is a little high per sq ft. That was 24 1/2 yrs ago. For that price we could have bought a preowned home that was much larger -- but, dh doesn't *do* handyman stuff.
That was also when home prices were outrageous in TX. That same home 7yrs later was worth 43,000. :(

Our's was Miss Betty. Don't think I ever heard my name either.

Your name is liek the MOST common name around from the 50's/60's!! I'm sure you heard your name. :lmao:

I know on WB they had lanyards, name tags, etc. but still I know a few posters said they didn't think anybody knew who they were & they could never find any dissers when they went to the shows & such. I think even if I saw a green lanyard, I probably wouldn't say anything unless I was sure of who it was. I'm shy like that. ::yes::

I talked to ever person taht I saw with one of *our* lanyards on! :rotfl2: I'm sure some people started taking them off when they saw me coming! :lmao:
DH even talked to people on the shore excursions when he saw they were wearing a Dis lanyard.

That's awesome! I'm glad they will all know each other!!!! I think my girls are likely too young to know who the other kids are out on the "kids thread"...being 9 and 7

There are other kids those ages on the thread! Some of the younger ones dictate to their parents what they want said. ;)

Separately in the same house... Sounds strange to me!

It works for them ans they never fight! And they travel together extensively -- their favorite palce to go is Scotland & Ireland. They play golf nearly everyday!

I was thinking about one of these since I need a new camera...mine is 5 years old and my birthday in next month...:dance3:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_digital_sw.asp

We have last yr's model and LOVE it!

We have reached $5 a gallon here in CA. I tried to snap a pic with my cellphone but couldn't figure out how to zoom.

Granted it was Chevron (the most expensive chain out here) and for the premium.....but $5.04 per gallon.

I saw $4.50 a gallon 12 yrs ago in CA!!!! At a gas station outside of Yosemite.

and people wonder why we're running out of natural resources. :headache: It should be illegal to have that much impervious space for just 2 people. 17-18 fine i'd consider..but for 2..just ridiculous...

:lmao: They have alot of out of town guests throughout the year. So, they need the extra bedrooms (there are only 6 bdrms). Right now in their 4 bdrom it can get crowded at times. And they need the 2 libraries because they each have extensive book collections -- the libraries are off each of their bedrooms. All of the rooms are quite large so, their really isn't a large number of rooms for that size house.
They also have 7 grandkids. :goodvibes

Hey isn't Al *I'm Green* Gore that built a 17,000 sq ft house? :lmao:

BTW -- my home has a tankless hot water system which is a great energy/water saver!

I have to have my gall bladder out Monday!:scared1: I have been sick for a year and the last time I got sick I had to call an ambulance! I will be so glad to not feel bad anymore!:yay:

 Been there ...done that 3 yrs ago...

Be glad they will remove it now... This way you should be able to enjoy the food on the trip... (Listen to your surgeons food restrictions for after surgery BTW)

Oh heck. I think if you can afford it- why not?

The environment is why not.. (oki i know different thread...:rolleyes1 ) Stormwater management and runoff is why not..loss of forests is why not...

Increased utility consumption by some doesn't just effect that user. It requires more substations/ larger transmission lines...etc... and when the utilities have increased costs from building these ...Who pays the price? That guy in the 8500 sf house doesn't care if his bill goes up $200 but for the little people who buy flourescent bulbs and conserve where they can and go without heat and air when they can...Those kinds of increases are monumental...

Sorry, I'm a planner with environmental background...

Hey....Ours resembles that...

(It doesn't live in our living room right now though... Our space is too small and dogs need more space)

That's precisely why we don't own a coffee table now! My German Shepherd/Aussie will sweep anything off a table that low! He's got a 3ft tail with long hair on it! Keeps low things dusted and provides a nice breeze on warm nights.... I wouldn't say a sweet smelling breeze though!

DH bought a "Snap Sights" camera in Honduras. It's similar to the cheap one you showed with a reusable case, but we're not sure yet what other camera will even fit in there!

AQUUWC7.html

We've also used the disposable ones from Fuji and Kodak and they seemed to work fine for snorkeling.

Oh duh on me! It's an old fashioned FILM camera :lmao: :lmao: He paid about $25USD and it's $12 on that website!

Oh heck. I think if you can afford it- why not?
I do not live in a mansion but definitely have more than we would have to have. (I also have a Yukon XL gas guzzler so who am I to say anything. :lmao: )

I have a Durango... Nothing else will fit the 2 of us and Sydney and 2 huge dogs and our stuff when we travel all the time! Plus it's great in all the snow we get.

Na! You have been around long enough to not be a newbie anymore.;)

Yippee!  Didn't think anyone would say that till after our first cruise!

I had to comment on this. We must be of the same era. I watched Romper Room on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company), because they carried more educational programs, than PBS at the time! I still live across the river from Windsor, Ont. That was my pre-school at the time. Also got Mr. Rogers and The Friendly Giant.

Oh TOTALLY Cool! I have never met ANYONE who remembers The Friendly Giant :cool1: :thumbsup2 It was my favorite show back then and I think it was only on for a year or two here in the Chicago area. I also watched Captain Kangaroo, a lot of PBS (Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Electric Company, Zoom) and occasionally Romper Room (never called my name either!) and Kookla, Fran and Ollie. Oh yeah, and Bozo's Circus - my Grandma was aquainted with "Mr Ned" (Chicago version of the Bozo show) and took me to meet him, but I was shy and hid behind her the whole time (I think I was about 4 years old :) )

Sorry I didn't respond back. I had to leave to go to see a surgeon. I have to have my gall bladder out Monday!:scared1: I have been sick for a year and the last time I got sick I had to call an ambulance! I will be so glad to not feel bad anymore!:yay: This won't be as bad as my last Disney cruise which was two weeks after rotator cuff surgery!

Oh, man!!! Good luck on Monday!!!!

WOW! Just wow! I thought my sisters house was huge and it was 5600. I cannot imagine 8500 sq ft.

My house is about right under 1,000sqft smaller then your sisters. The house we came out here to look at is 6,000 but, the rooms were too closed off for us. DH thought he wanted a 6 -8,000 sqft home. But, we found this one and it just *fit*.

I was not sure about spouses and/or parents that are not on the DIS. I ordered lanyards for all but not sure how or if the rest of my family will get name tage so there still might be a need. :)

Does that include non-DIS family? Will this include our DIS names or "real" names; or both?

Oh heck. I think if you can afford it- why not?

:lmao: I drive a Ford Expedition and dh drives a Ford F150 4x4 extended cab! :rotfl: :rotfl2: 17dd's car is a Ford Taraus 4dr sedan (dh's 5 yr old car).

Monica, I am sure that you have said this before, but I forgot -- how much in advance of the cruise are we hoping to have the dates and times for the private tastings? And will we eventually have to sign up in some more official way (reservation number, etc.)?

Thanks so much to you and Laurie for doing this . . .:thumbsup2

OK - this is totally off topic :offtopic: (well, as much as anything here is off-topic!) but I thought it was cool and it has a vaguely Disney theme (really vague!)

A friend of ours has an incredible old house (150 yrs which for this area is OLD) and each year allows the local Friends of the City Museum to hold a "lawn party" there. She has created a YouTube video "advertisement" for this year's event and I thought it was fun to watch - the vaguely Disney connection is the background music she chose to use (I don't think she has a clue there is a Disney connection, but it was the first thing DS9 and I noticed when we played it!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90sqC3JjcaA

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Sounds like others have it covered.......again......I believe someone said "a day late and a dollar short" :) like I said, this is the downside of coming in as a newbie......everything has been taken care of so I can't be much help other than buying a couple special people a drink

Drinks are always appreciated and so is another friend. Thanks for all the offering!!!

Oh yes the laundry lounge! I'll bring some booze! :hyper:

Looks I like I might break my promise and end up doing Laundry this vacation!!! If there is a party with you and Chrissy..........I guess I will force myself.:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Whatever she said!!!::yes:: ::yes::

I have only been on board and planning for 5 weeks:) :) Everyone has been so helpful :cloud9:

Now that school is almost out - I can even plan more and not lurk so much on the boards - but reply more often...;)

I'd love something to ID us when we are walking around the ship.

I plan to wear the wristband everywhere.

I was thinking about one of these since I need a new camera...mine is 5 years old and my birthday in next month...:dance3:

Great news...it all worked out for our 3 kids as well....now that school's out, we can "relax" until August. Actually, Grandma takes the kids for a week in late June for a trip to Mount Rushmore.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:listen: :listen: If you could all say a little prayer for my DD..... she has a little operation tomorrow! I will be babysitting my DGKIDS.
