That is SOOOOO COOOLL . . .how did he do that? Does Photoshop have some cool "water" adjust button that I've missed??

Thanks for finding these - search failed me :rolleyes1

I'm going to bring a copy of Photochop on the TOAL to do this in realtime :cool1:

Andy

I'll have my copy, too, Andy . . .can you show me how to do these cool adjustments?

Didn't he tell you that you needed "Formal" stuff? It's your honeymoon - what is more formal and appropriate than a wedding dress? ;) Actually, I like Tom's idea of the portraits (this seems to be a common thing at most formal events - not just cruises) - only problem is that you probably have about a million photos being taken at the wedding....

Maybe you should make plans with someone with a good loud voice for you to "run into" and just happen to strike up a conversation at the terminal who can then make an announcement to "that crazy pirate group" along the lines of "hey everyone - meet Jen and her husband - they just got married yesterday - isn't that cool!" and then if anyone seems to recognize you on the cruise you can write it off that they must have been with that group in the terminal .... :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Pamela

DId I ever mention that they had Black and White portraits on the WB? Maybe you can ask about types of portraits? They will have the plain white background, the Arch background, the typical ships railing and the Magic with Mickey moonlight backdrop and the nice multi-generical portrait background. BTW, the B&W ones came out really nice. Jen.....just go ahead and bite the bullet and bring your dress, I'd use any excuse to wear my wedding dress again.........assuming it still fit that is!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I was a stick back then - all 110 lbs soaking wet. Yes - I'm come a long way baby 1 then along came baby 2 but the real damage was done on baby #3. :rotfl:

I'm an engineer, too (systems / industrial engineer) prior to kids . .now I design websites at home . . .

I love the idea of rain barrels. When we sell this house and move a bit out into the country, rain barrels is one of the things I'm hoping to do. I'd also like to composte. The one house we looked at had TWO wells. One for drinking and one for watering the yard. I'd love to have a green yard without paying tons of $$ for it in water. We already are in the 90's and my garden is suffering . . .

:dance3:

The other problem with rain barrels is that they do grow stuff and it does start to stink after a while. That's no problem if you're using the water outside, but go to water the plants inside and ew the stink!

Lots of Engineers here I guess! DH & I are both Mechanical Engineers although neither of us works in that field. DH is a software project manager and I have been working for my father in the family business for the last 8.5 years doing everything from computer support, programming, sales, graphic design & advertising, etc, etc, etc.

DH is also the chairman of our town's Environmental commission - he has always been involved with that. The first thing he did when we moved into our house 18 years ago was put in a high efficiency furnace - they weren't all that common back then and people thought he was a little crazy - now it seems like everyone is putting them in! We switched to CFL bulbs throughout the house about 8 months ago - they seemed a little odd at first, but now I am used to them and actually prefer them. DS9 found an old underground cystern in our yard a couple years ago and DH is considering redirecting our downspouts into it to collect rainwater to use for watering his gardens. We are in the middle of putting in low-pressure drip watering which isn't used much here in the midwest.

Pamela

We would like to do fluorescent bulbs, but we have too many weird lights! We have lots of fans with the small bulbs and lots of flood lights oh and lots of dimmers too. It's very very difficult to find dimmable fluorescent floodlights or fan bulbs!

We will keep your DD in our prayers Cheryl.

OKOKOK did you use a flash? Were they close to the surface? The color is impressive.

Here are a couple from the Great Barrier Reef (our honeymoon a few years ago) using our disposable cameras and both are after photoshopping:

I was thinking about one of these since I need a new camera...mine is 5 years old and my birthday in next month...:dance3:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We have reached $5 a gallon here in CA. I tried to snap a pic with my cellphone but couldn't figure out how to zoom.
Granted it was Chevron (the most expensive chain out here) and for the premium.....but $5.04 per gallon.

We are not that far behind. It cost me $109 to fill up my baby yesterday. And I had to use the card twice since it shut off at $75.00 Boy do I hate doing that. On the other hand - saw diesel at $5.50 a gal/ltr whatever they use to measure diesel.

Sorry I didn't respond back. I had to leave to go to see a surgeon. I have to have my gall bladder out Monday!:scared1: I have been sick for a year and the last time I got sick I had to call an ambulance! I will be so glad to not feel bad anymore!:yay: This won't be as bad as my last Disney cruise which was two weeks after rotator cuff surgery!

Feel for you :grouphug: been there, done that and still have a bit of trouble when something gets by me but NOTHING - I repeat NOTHING as bad as the pain from an attack. I think I remember begging the doctor to kill me at least 3 times while in the midst of attacks. I was very serious but they didn't think so. Think I would rather endure full on tearing and a c-section w/o anethesia before another gallbladder attack. Just ask for the anit-vomiting, anti-nausea shot before going under and you'll do fine. :)

I filled up today...70.00! Ugh...Most of the ones I have seen around our area is $4.25 or so. Not good!

Well all..my Sister just arrived tonight from Az so I am of to catch up with her. We will be at DL tomorrow and spending the night at the DLH as a treat...will check back in on Friday.

Have a great Thursday!

How are you feeling?

Hey Desiree - a bit better until dd brought her friend home from school. St. Paul's last day of school was today and I had to endure 8 hrs of OMG! And can you believe its over? And does it go this fast each year! I had such a headache after lunch I went on strike and sat my behind on the couch and proceeded to DIS all afternoon. The cough is what is killing me. The doctor says my lungs are clear but dang it - he didn't feel it necessary to give me cough medicine. I'm stuck with OTC stuff that doesn't really work. Other than that - I'm fine - :teeth:

Thanks for asking. (FYI - I had inserted a comment in here about diapers but I censored myself so the mods wouldn't have to do it for me! ;) ) :rotfl2:

Chris.... You can have at least two adult berages for me!!!:drinking1 :drinking1 With the news of my DD and operation........this day can't end fast enough!!!:worried: :worried: :worried: I just hope the darling DGC behave for me!!::yes::

Oh my - all joking aside - your daughter is in my prayers!! No matter how old they are - they are still your kids!!

Of course the DGkids will behave - I'm sure you must have the "look" or the "tone of voice" - I'll tell you a funny story - I got a call from DGS -Matt's teacher - he was acting up but she didn't want to go to the official detention route - so she phones me and - he's telling the teacher "no - no - don't want to talk to Grandma" - I get on the phone to give him the "stern voice" and he's an angel the rest of the day. I said to DD - either that's good or I'm an ogre scaring the h*** out of my grandson!!! :rotfl2:

lots of

Oooohh I guess I know what my next project is... redoing all our honeymoon underwater pics! And probably editing DHs Honduras snorkeling pics.

I used a fill-in flash and it was in 6ft of water (so sez the EXIF data).

andy

What's a fill-in flash?

At the Great Barrier Reef, a flash is prohibited unless you have a special permit, which they don't give to just anyone. Ours were in much deeper water than 6ft too for the most part.

What speed film is needed for an underwater camera? We have that cheaper reusable camera that we just need to buy film for.

Hey Laura...just what the heck are you doing in that picture?

Hey Doreen look in your box!!! :lmao:

J/K I know you responded! ;)

Well, they were doing the Russian dance where you kick your legs to the side, well, as you have all heard, I was actually dancing on the floor for about 20 minutes and I was having a hard time catching my breathe and trying the dance, well, after one patron ended up on the dance floor - I didn't want to experience that so I sat on the little stage floor in Rocking Bar D and proceeded to kick my legs like a Rockette. I know - it kinda looks weird, but at least I didn't fall on my be-hind! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

1030: better screen in sunlight, wider angle, more pixels, softer images at wide angle
770: screen sucks, better contrast in images

Note: They use different batteries :(

Here's a comparison shot taken at full wide angle (top 1030 - resized from 3768x2736, bottom 770 resized from 3072x2304)

Andy

Thanks AndrewR! now I have to go out and buy me this one. Actually Andy - I just saw it at Sam's for under $350 so I think I will get it. I hate FRY'S and refuse to buy another camera from them. Their customer service sucks and they have yet to live up to their promise of replacing a camera under warrenty. So now, I will stick to either Ritz Camera or Best Buy. I can usually make something work and I seem to be able to hunt down a bargain when I want. I just love the fact that its shockproof. I saw a camcorder that was shockproof and I am trying to get DH to buy me one -but so far no go - want to know why?

DH in Antigua with my brand new out of the box camcorder:
First time use:

then here is what I saw coming:

this is what I chose to shoot:

AntiguaDevilsBridge13Mastercard2.jpg

and this is the aftermath:

AntiguaDevilsBridge14Mastercard3.jpg

This is why I took this picture at the Natural Bridge in Aruba:

So that we could avoid a repeat of the Antigua accident.

What I need is someway to automate the PS process - doing it by hand gets old after a while.

Fill-in flash: just force the flash on, it'll fill in any backlit/shadows.

Film.......Just go digital pirate:

I did a dive photo class a few years back and a strobe (flash) was a necessety at anything below 15ft.
