Steve looks a little "Toasty" himself! :rotfl:

Exactly, he actually was probably up to me at this point (4) . He claims he had to drink the one I left on the table but I drank that one. I was wondering who would notice first! :rotfl2:

I hate all big trees near my house!!! :( The tree tend to break almost on top of my house. We took all the large trees down and now I have to worry about my neighbors tress. :headache:

We had a tree fall down in our yard and I wouldn't let my DH get it removed because it still had some leaves left. But, my nanny (my dad) went on vacation and my DFIL and DMIL came to watch DD3 for a few days and one day when I came home the tree was GONE!! :scared1: :scared1:

I was NOT happy!

But I do know deep down that it was the right thing to do...

Well I took care of Fathers Day today. The girls and I were out today looking for a dress for Megan's 5th grade graduation tomorrow (nothing like waiting for the last minute). Anyway when we were looking for DD's dress I noticed they had a new shipment of Tommy Bahama shirts. Bill loves TB so I bought him 5 TB shirts and some dress pants as well.
I kept calling them Bahama Mama's so I am sure the salesperson thinks I am drunk hick. :rotfl2:

not if you got stuck with the 40 sec rule

Thanks to ga9497 (Jo) and EdMartin (Ed) we now have all of the WB Navigators except embarkation day. (Laura??)

They are posted on the planning boards

Tom - I have it and readily accessible but my scanner is broken or else is being finicky on when it wants to scan. I can see if DD can jerry-rig something to get it over to you. Whom do I send it soo? Just let me know.

What's your background? I'm a civil/environmental engineer. Well before I became a fulltime mom/OT/SLP for my DD...

I do have rain barrels and those are great! The problem with those is that when we need the water, it's been weeks with no rain (the whole desert thing with about 15in average per YEAR) and when they're full it's because we've had a massive rain and nothing outside needs the water :rotfl2:

I'm an engineer, too (systems / industrial engineer) prior to kids . .now I design websites at home . . .

I love the idea of rain barrels. When we sell this house and move a bit out into the country, rain barrels is one of the things I'm hoping to do. I'd also like to composte. The one house we looked at had TWO wells. One for drinking and one for watering the yard. I'd love to have a green yard without paying tons of $$ for it in water. We already are in the 90's and my garden is suffering . . .

Oh, and DH is kinda of handy. He's good at changing out toilets (we've put all new ones in this house). He also has a thing for flourescent bulbs (I don't like the color of light they produce . . .waiting for the really quality ones like they have in CA to reach the east coast). I've done a lot of the updating of our home on my own . . .okay with the help of my two DS's. DS13 was about 7 yo when he helped me put up the crown moulding in our main bath. He would stand on the sink and hold the trim while I hammered away. I think he's damaged for life . . .LOL. I also refinished all the cabinets in our home They were made of solid oak so it was a shame to spend the huge $$ to replace them. I found out I liked the process while redoing the kitchen and continued throughout the house . . .

We're all for high effiency appliances. Our electric bill dropped from $400 / mo to $120 after we replaced the kitchen applainces and replaced our heat pump / AC with high effiency products. Plus we got tax breaks, too.

My . .I do go on . . :dance3:

We're at $4.11 here - actually went up 2 cents since yesterday. I'll be riding my bike to work beginning Friday.

We've got some bumpy weather coming for the next few days, according to the weatherman. Not too sure about getting the :moped: out.

:listen: :listen: If you could all say a little prayer for my DD..... she has a little operation tomorrow! I will be babysitting my DGKIDS.

Prayers to your daughter. I hope all goes well..

I kept calling them Bahama Mama's so I am sure the salesperson thinks I am drunk hick. Too funny...:lmao:

Cool - I just took care of all the end-of-year Teacher gifts! I've become an Amazon.com lover - earlier this year we signed up the PTO as an "associate" (an Amazon program to help school organization raise money) and started pushing everyone to use the weblink on our PTO website when they were going to Amazon since that way we get a small percentage of every purchase for the PTO (for most stuff it is between 4% and 6% - not much per purchase for most stuff, but it adds up). Well, once we started that we started really LOOKING at what all you can buy from Amazon and the prices are pretty good too and now we seem to be ordering a couple things every week :rolleyes1 This evening as I was trying to figure out when I would have time to run out and get gifts or gift cards before Friday, it suddenly occured to me - hey, maybe Amazon has gift certificates! They do and I just did all the gifts in about 5 minutes - just buy them and print on the printer! :cool1:

I hate shopping and doing this stuff on line just thrills me - I'm such a geek!:lmao:

(shameless plug - feel free to ignore) If anyone isn't already doing this for another organization and would like to use our PTO link to Amazon, you can find it at our PTO website at www.TurnerPTO.org (I couldn't resist after explaining the whole thing above - sorry!)

Landscape Architect ..... DD was born right before my senior yr in college. After school i kinda took a 9 yr detour before i actually got into my field.

I did the private sector thing for 5 yrs... Hated it... Now i work for the dark side (ie county government)

Uh oh i'm in trouble see you guys tomorrow

Boy, am I going to need your help!!

So how much does it cost to put in 1 1/2 acres of grass if the lot has been purged of all top soil?

We found one great house that is a repo, but has NO YARD . .just dusty dirt (that probably turns into mud . . .LOL)

I just want my house to sell so we can move BEFORE the TOAL, but then my whole focus will be GRASS!!

Can you help?

So far, so good. I'm at an Acme SavOn right now, so it's not much different than I'm used to. The people there are really cool, so I'm having a good time, and i am actually learning some stuff.

QUOTE]

I am currently working on a acmemarket savon dot com problem right now.... orders will be delayed....:(

Yea!:cool1: DH just changed our pictures! I hated the other one! You can see us better now! This was one time I had my sling off (from rotator cuff surgery).:yay:

As my DW (JunesGoofy) mentioned earlier today, she threw me a surprise belated 40th B-Day party when my family was in town this past weekend.

What she didn't mention was that it was NOT an over-the-hill party, but a Mickey party. ::MickeyMo How appropriate! She had giant Mickey balloons and Disney decor. You'd think I was turning 4, not 40. She tried to get WDW to ship Mickey Head Rice-Krispy treats, but they wouldn't do it because they contained chocolate.:(

And, yes, I had no clue that she was planning it.

Finally, she asked everyone to get me Disney Dollars for the TOAL!!!! :mickeyjum

THAT IS SOOOOO AWESOME! how great is a MICKEY party on your b-day....hope it was great :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum

That is too funny! These are teh things memories are made of.

We ended up in scenic Freeport, Bahamas because a friend of ours had 'won' a trip there on a glorified ferry boat and a few nights at 'resort'. Our 'resort' was like a mid-level Holiday Inn. But hey, we were young and poor and living in Alaska, so anyplace warm was fine with us. They had a beach and a bar and we didn't need much else. We also spent a few days in Key West - in a mobile home park owned by the Navy, but at least we had a double bed!

Now that I think about it...DH only had a twin bed when I moved to Alaska. We spent the first year of our married life sleeping on a double bed mattress that I bought at a thrift shop for $10, on the floor! Small island in Alaska is not the best place to start out a life and furnish a house! We bought a new box spring, mattress (and a bed frame!) for our first anniversary.

Gosh, we've come a long way!

Thank you for not sharing!

You one upped us, we slept on a futon mattress on the floor in our apartment that had one bdrm, (for our then infant) and our futon mattress was on the floor in the living room that doubled as a kitchen! I have the best memories of those times! :lovestruc :lovestruc

We were so broke and so happy! Everyone should spend some time in their life struggling to makes ends meet. You realize how little you actually need to survive!
