I Brett Hull...... Dh bought me a FANTASTIC framed picture of him as a child with his older brother & father in their Blackhawk uniforms on the ice!

I actually cried when Dallas got rid of him -- he had even said that he would take a pay cut to stay here! He is here now and works for the team.

DH collects signed jersey's. He only has a few framed (DD got them framed for him as a gift).

The only sport we watch is Hockey -- dh grew up playing Ice hockey in LA. We had season tickets to the Stars for years.

We are PSL holders for the Bluejackets....watching the pens/wings game as we speak so I understand!

Ya know....as much as I think my kids would enjoy the Fish Extender thing, I think we will pass on it. One, I would be too stressed about getting "gifts for everyone else. I am worried thought that my kids would fight over who was gonna get to look and see what was in there or running down the hall to get to the door first (then waking up all our neighbors when the fighting began)

uh.. you mean BIP right? I already lost that fight long ago that bib made more since if shortening my name since no P's in my name... but then look at what they came up with (tag fairy put it in as my tag)

For the FEs..I bought some stuff from Oriental Trading as well some stuff at Company D (a CM clearence center) ..some of it is lightweight..some isn't..unfortunately, I am looking at 4 boxes of stuff for the FE and trying to figure out how to get it on to the ship! I have a habit of overbuying! My DH just laughs...and I still have 2 SMs to do! And of course..the lanyards....hmm..wonder where I will put my clothes!

We're doing the SM's with the kids- so I had to have stuff for 3 kids since my 3 kids are participating. Also the regular FE's. I got some pirate skull rings and pirates bracelets that snap shut, etc. from Oriental trading

Thank you all for your very kind wishes, thoughts and prayers for my Aunt over the last few days.

We had word a short while ago that my Aunt had finally passed away. A blessing for all. She'd been fairly unresponsive for around 4 days and in the last 24 hours had ceased all communications and gone into a seemingly deep sleep.

My Mum said she is looking forward to laying down in a real bed as she's been sitting and sleeping a plastic chair for the last 4 days without a break so she didn't have to leave my Aunt alone. She'd promised my Aunt to not leave and to be there stay until the very end.

Mum's hoping to return home at the weekend as she'll need a couple of nights good sleep before tackling a 24+ hour flight home.

I always knew I lived in a safe area but I guess we really tested it last night.
We left the garage wide open w/ the light on If that does not say here I am and here is all I own- Come get me!!! I do not know what does.
Also we left the door from the garage into the house unlocked. That says- If your van is not full from all the stuff from my garage, come in and help yourself to my house contents as well.

I've found the garage door open in the morning once or twice. Now I make it a habit to check it myself before I go to bed. Can't rely on my family for anything real important.

My DS has been sick with the flu for the second time in a month. Fever, chills, aches, etc. Now it has morphed into a severe case of bronchitis. We took him to the doctors yesterday & he is now on antibiotics & 2 inhalers. He missed 2 days last week during the all important state tests in school (MCAS) & this week was make-up so I got a "friendly" call from the school yesterday stating that if missed the make-ups, he was going to need a doctors note explaining why he couldn't take the tests. Not once did they ask how he was feeling! Wouldn't mind, but we are not parents that allow our children to miss school for the heck of it & he is never late so you'd think they'd realize that if his missing the tests, then he must be really sick! I did call them back after the doctors & I explained to the nurse how sick he was & she said, "Well maybe he could come in long enough to take his tests & then go home." I said as long as he's not gagging & chocking like he has been. So she said to "play it by ear". Anyway he was coughing a bit this morning, but it was a little better, so he did go in today long enough to do his make-up tests & then I got a call from the nurse to come pick him up because he's coughing a lot. Ya think?

On the Med cruise I was on last year, we assigned days to give out our FE gifts, so that things would be distributed throughout the cruise. However, I have found that this group of pirates doesn't like to be told what to do and when to do it so everyone can hand out when they would like, and take as long as they would like.

Definitely a unique group of pirates

The hoteling program where I work requires that the employee show up at the office at least once a week for one hour. Since they had to give up their offices in order to work at home, there are special empty offices in the building that can be reserved for them to work in for that one hour.

So, no hotel rooms- they just call it that because of the reservation aspect of it...and because I guess they have to have a special name for it--telecommuting was taken as were the names that your company took

Since the commute in northern VA is pretty bad, just going in once a week for one hour is a real plus.
I don't qualify for the program though until July- but my application is already in

Thank You Laurie, Mary Ann, Stephanie & Cheryl - and everyone else - for the kind words. You three were the only ones I saw so far - but I have not read much to catch up fully yet....

I'm still trying to catch up - been gone a lot lately so I'm hopelessly behind again - however I AM trying to read what I can. And I'll pass the kind remarks on to Alicia. She's in CHicago for some training for a couple of days - so I'm on my own with the kids for a bit. At any rate .....

However, the story on the POLKA DOTED dress she "modeled" for me - well,.... it was NOT on sale and it was some $175 or somethin' like that and Alicia was not about to pay full price if she could afford to be patient. And she did not tell me this until I asked her to pose for me in her neew drfesses so I could share the idle shopping gossip here WITH photos.

So I don't know if she'll catch it in her size on sale. She's pretty demanding of getting a good deal - so it's notmuch of a near certainty.

AND... if I may add... whenever I think of how good a shopper she is - I like to think how GOOD a shopper she WAS when she choose her "perfect" and "innocent" SPOUSE. < wink >

And at about this moment - if Alicia heard me say this - she'd interject that "I" was the ONE deal she was still uncertain of.... after 24 years that is STILL the case, she would claim.
