I'm chuckling about the country house in Connecticut. It sounds so romantic, like an old movie! I live in Connecticut. The weather is so beautiful today and we're having a picnic. I'm going to keep that country house image in mind. Thanks for adding to my day. I'll be a better hostess with that thought in mind.

Channel your inner Martha Stewart....(except for the going to prison part)

AHHHH. Go read the recall notice stupid, where's it's all explained... :rotfl2:

Egads!! Here I am on Saturday morning talking to myself. I'd better leave and find something more productive to do. Sheez.

OK How in the world do you get enough off of a zipper to actually be harmful? Does anyone think that they've gone overboard with the whole lead paint thing? I mean it's harmful if you sit and eat the peeling paint off the wall all day every day or drink your wine out of a lead goblet every day, but a zipper??

True dat! I know a few couples that didn't make it to 1 year.

Yeah that's true... Makes you wonder if they really thought about it beforehand! DH was on a strict schedule - we had to date for 1 yr before proposal and he sure did that one up with a full day scavenger hunt typ of event ending on Breathless under Illuminations. He put the scavenger hunt hint cards together and it spelled "Will you marry me?" and I said "no way" and then he had a very long speal about why he wanted to marry me and when he paused I'd say "ye.... Ye....ye...." Finally when he was done, I said yes LOL. Then we had to be engaged for about a year before marrying, but then he wanted to have kids immediately :lmao:

Or it is like 17dd/28ds trip in July..... They fly SW out of Love field BUT, on the return flight they land at DFW!!!! that would NOT work on a family flight since we would have no way of picking up our car! LOL!

I've emailed you with the rest of my answer... BUT, I had to say I know how she feels with a summer b-day. Mine is in July.... ;)

I'm cracking up about the trampoline & pool.... There is an ER doctor that lives across the street from us. They have 3 children under 6. And they have a pool & a trampoline, also! :scared1:

Mine is July as well! I feel bad for Sydney because her's is right after Christmas in mid-Jan.

Good morning!

Well..the final lanyard count is 300!

Below is a list of who ordered. If you do not see your name on the list and PM'd me - I appologize that I missed it. Please PM me again (please don't post it here..I may not see it) I have gone back over all of my PMs and double checked to make sure I got everyone but it is possible that I missed you. Anyways..I will be placing the order on Monday. The company does not guarantee the exact amount .. it can be +/- 5% so I will be ordering 5% over to make sure everyone gets theirs. I will post when I get them if I have some extra. I will also be getting the plastic sleeve for our KTTW cards and name tags that Chrissie is making. Thanks everyone for your orders!

Thanks for putting this together! What kind of company gives you +/- 5% of what you actually order? How weird!

WHen I told DH what K said he said *Too bad for her but, it sounds like a plan.* :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate them and feel lucky to have friends such as you all.

My heart is breaking for my Mum, she loves her sister very much and it must be the hardest thing in the world to be going through - my uncle emailed to say that Mum hasn't left my Aunt's side since she got to the UK. She must be exhausted both emotionally and physically.

Hope she is okay today.. any word??

Well, many people in Manhattan have an apartment here that they live in most of the time, but then also a house in CT or Long Island that they spend weekends or the summer in, and generally speaking we call those the "country houses" because they are not the primary residence. But to me and my citified girls, I am sure that your house in CT, even if it is your primary residence, would be just as romantic and exotic as the term "country house" might warrant! Yes, the weather is magical this weekend, isn't it? We really got lucky up here in the NE for memorial day weekend.

We are enjoying a beautiful day as well! Just arrived home from Church a while ago....Dd8 and dh just went for a run (I should be with them!!!). We are going to a Lacrosse game later and then a cookout. I love days like this!

Calling All pirate: - this is a rallying call to ensnare you on one of the more fun-loving and memorable activities on the high seas. Make your cruise that much more memorable by joining other pirates in making one of your fellow crewmates' trip. Become a Secret Mickey. Not much is required - just a bit of imagination and a sense of adventure.

Our version of SM is similar to what many are familiar as Kris Kringle or gift exchange. Since this cruise is 15 days, you submit your names and some interesting information about yourselves and we pass that information to someone on the other end who has agreed to supply you with a surprise "gift" in your fish extender or other form of "mail/gift" holder.

We will also be holding a kids SM if you have any of the small pirates travelling with you. Just provide us with the same information as requested for the adults.

Once you receive a name, you agree to supply your SM with 5-6 gifts throughout your cruise with at least one being a main gift. You can either drop off in their fish or somehow get it to them without them seeing you. At the end of the cruise, at an allotted date (usually the last sea day) , we will gather together to unveil who your SM is. The fun is in trying to figure out who is surprising you. We suggest that the gifts be at least around $25-$30. I know that earlier versions have stated $30-$35 dollars but I think that if your creative - you can find many a great bargain which will bring a smile to your SM's face. Besides - as you all know - I am about saving $$$ (ROTFLMBO)

So, if I have enticed your imagination and would like more info - please feel free to contact me (eeyorelvr10) or Paula (pbader) who has graciously agreed to help me in this venture.

All you need to do is submit to me the following info:

DIS NAME:
REAL NAME:
CITY/STATE YOU LIVE IN:
E-MAIL ADDRESS: (will be kept secret from public)
CABIN:
FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTER/S:
LIKES/HOBBIES:
DISLIKES:
ALLERGIES:
WHICH DISNEY CRUISE IS THIS:
ANY CELEBRATIONS ON THIS CRUISE AND DATE:
ANY SPECIAL NOTES:

OK - this should do it for now. Think about it and then pm or send me your info at LauraVEll@aol.com BUT PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT IN THE SUBJECT LINE - EBPC SM SIGN-UP - or something similar. Also, if I am unreachable - contact Paula (pbader) pbader42@msn.com
Thanks All - hope to hear from you soon!

Take what you can! ARGH!!!! pirate:

Just throwing a reminder out here for everyone. When you send info in for your children, please be sure to list their age.

Thanks,
Paula:goodvibes

Indiana here. Cannot buy alcohol on Sunday at all. Period. Zip. Nada. Zilch.

Mike, my store is right across the bridge in Louisville. You Indiana folks keep us busy on Sundays. 2 years ago they started letting the hard stuff be sold on Sundays also 1pm-9pm. We can sell beer 1pm-4am.:)

Hey Paula...

Mom & I were talking about this yesterday. When do you think you'll be sending out the info with who we have for SM? No pressure or anything, just curious.

Cheers!

Jen

Paula, I am so sorry to read about your Aunt. :grouphug: :grouphug:

sounds like a great time!
awww, too bad you couldn't get a date so we could have a party in this penthouse of which I've never even heard of. LOL

The Mickey Mouse Penthouse is a room they use to award guests in the parks during the year if a million dreams. Part of the promotion.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I see your point but actually all of them that I found...what happens is that they put on the amount you want + 5% I think and because sometimes printing goes a little crazy..they throw out the damaged but don't reprint..hence the 5% either way thing

KSDisneyDad is my husband and since this is all he talks about, well, I thought I would join in. It's like the Disboards are my competition! I have been busy putting our house together. Twenty-three gallons of paint so far! Four rooms, three bathrooms and a laundry room to go. I will be spending my entire summer finishing the house and getting ready for the big trip. I am looking forward to spending some time getting to know people. It feels strange to be the one that doesn't know people because Christopher is the quiet one and I am the talker! I will try to get a better picture of us posted soon.

We are back from the DVC Event...it was nice..you got there and checked in. They gave you a card and you went from table to table and collected 6 limited edition DVC pins that you put on this card and it made a little story. One of the pins was the cruise ship with Donald relaxing by it. There was an open bar (wine and beer) and soda of course...some veggies and cheese and crackers to nibble..then you went in for the presentation...they did talk about the expansion for DCA..they are putting in a new land called Cars land that will have 3 attractions..the biggest one will be a car ride thru Radiator Springs that finishes with a race..kind of like test track. They are also changing the fron tof the park to look like Los Angeles circa 1930s. We then watched about different things you could do with your points...and incentives for buying more points stc..I swore I wasn't gonna buy any more points but I love my points....anyways..there were some giveaway which we didn't win..one was a piece of art from AKL....they kind of talked about the new ships..they will have 1200 guests cabins vs the 8** on the current ships...but they wouldn't say the locations of course. We also got to see some things on the new villas at DGC. There were some performers and characters. DD got pictures taken with the characters and we can downloaad them tomorrow.

The end came and there was more drinks and coffee and dessert..and of course..you could buy points..we decided to add points (of course!) and the best part...we were rewarded with a night in the Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel  (it had to do with the points we bought..we did not win anything) We are so excited! They were doing only 15 nights this summer and we got one of them! I was checking out the dates to see if one fell about the 15th or 16th of August (party in the penthouse!) but no luck. We are going the evening of July 12th!

All in all..it was a fun evening :)

Wow how exciting! Congrats! :woohoo:

Wow, that's great! I was wondering what time the busses will be leaving the DL area to go to the port, and how many stops will each bus make before heading to port?
Ooops! I just realized I logged in under my daughters user name. This is Michelle2

I was just going to say "Welcome to our thread Livinlarge!" ;)

Having read Laura's trip review about the Sierra Madre hike, I've come to realize that we all really need a translation guide for the Disney excursion descriptions. I humbly offer a beginning:

Journey by air-conditioned motor coach — amidst lush vegetation, gentle rolling hills and sparkling seaside views
Your bus will be driving at high speeds on narrow winding roads just a few inches from a cliff.

..........Due to limited availability, guests are encouraged to book early
This either means: Book at 12:01 at the 90 day mark and hope for the best. Or - This is an "active" excursion and we only have a limited number of paramedics on hand. Or - This is a really expensive and profitable excursion and saying this will encourage more bookings.

Guests are encouraged to bring cash or credit cards to purchase optional extras, such as pictures and souvenirs.
Expect plenty of delays and opportunities to spend money.

(note - yes, I'm a wimp and do tend to book DCL excursions. Sure they cost more, but it's peace of mind and low stress I'm buying - but knowing hot to read the descriptions definitely helps :cool2: ).

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Cool! Thanks for sharing! :cool1:

Welcome! Sounds a lot like what I'll be doing all summer!

Good Evening Everyone,
I have a question for all of those that are participating in the Fish Extender Mail (gifting). Does anyone in your cabin have any allergies such as nut allergies? This would be very important to know for those of us that maybe putting candy in our gift bags.

None here!

OK ladies...formal shopping...
Am I the only one who can't find anything between skanky and frumpy??
I'm too old for one, too young for the other & regardless, my style is firmly planted between the two. :)

I'm wearing a dress I already have (and love) for Princess Night, but I'm looking for another. I stopped in David's Bridal today and found 2 that were decent on me. What do you think? Too bridesmaid??

Sorry, one comes out a photo & the other doesn't, but the link works. I look decent in this color and it goes with sunburn! I love red, but doesn't work with cruise sunburn.

The 2nd one is a georgous style! I'm afraid I couldn't wear it though, you'd never know that there was a sash at the waist cuz "The Girls" would have it completely covered!!!

Happy to have you with us June! I'm sure my DH Kevin can sympathize with you...I'm always on here. Don't know what I'll do when the cruise is over! :sad1:

Just flyin' by with a quick hello....down to the wire on the wedding plans.....and LOVED seeing "our" ship come in this morning.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That may be the ONLY time my ship comes in!!!
