I read that on your blog. Sounds yummy! :thumbsup2

Hey Diane - got some time - I was allowed out of my cave since I spent all day yesterday in it. The boat has been speeding until just about 1 pm (now on PST) when all of a sudden it seems to just be drifting. I asked why it takes us 2 days to get from Cabo (as the boat was speeding along) for the WB and when they leave on Sunday out of Long Beach - they leave at 4 pm, They get to Cabo on Tuesday. We left Thursday night and will ge tin Sunday morning. No one would answer my questions but as I say - seems as if we are stopped and drifting.

The sea was kinda rough last night but not extremely bad. Just definitely moving. DH ended up having to go to bed but of course, anal as I am - I had to pack. Tonight is our last night. Last night was formal and got a decent picture of us. OK - enough killing time - I must get back to making my CD's for the staff. Seems I've been burning and creating and haven't done any for me.

Talk to you all later.

On yeah - missed the Stage works show - it was this morning at 9 - someone make sure you wake me on the EB - I must catch it them. I'll post my room number and you all can send me a wake up call! LOL

Darn it! Those kids of mine must have a mommy sniffer - they found me online! Drats!

Great idea! He did say he would pour me a glass of champagne on the first night, didn't he???:cool1:
That bottle of 'Dom' is going a long way first night
I don't know what I find more puzzling - that at first I didn't even understand the question (being also in California), or that I didn't know about the 2am-6am restriction (being largely a non-drinker).

Care to join my group Andrew? Chug chocolate smoothies during the trip. "Friends of Dentists" meetings every morning? :cool2:

(And no, it is not true that the only reason I prefer DCL is the presense of chocolate smoothies aboard. It's only one of the .... well, I'm sure there are at least a few other reasons... I'm sure it will come to me in a minute.... :rolleyes1 )
chocolate smoothies ..Magic words....I am in!

So you don't know how many children you have? Just that its more than 20?

:lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Do I need to start proofreading my posts! LOL! I should have said *Our 28ds & 24 dd won't be able to make this trip with us.* Is that better??? ;)

More accuarate yes, but not nearly as much fun to contemplate....

Just for fun, assuming there were enough category 4 cabins available, to bring 20 kids you'd need 4 cabins. At today's price that's $73,695 with insurance and transfers.

We're celebrating 18 right before the cruise on Aug. 11. Lots of things we have survived, and many fun family times to remember. We are looking forward to many more adventures together.

Amazing...we're celebrating 18 on August 11th as well!! Happy Anniversary a little early.

I just checked our return flights on Sep 3 on Southwest. Our tickets went down from $105 to $64! So now we have a $205 credit to use toward our flights in January!

If you're booked on SW, you may want to double check to see if your fares went down.

Thanks! We've already saved $99 on our first leg on SW and keep watching the return leg, but so far it hasn't come down. It's actually gone up $4 per person. However, I expect a special or a ding soon.

I can get you a list on all of the Supermarkets on the way. May have to also call the friends of Bill to be waiting outside, can you imagine the clerks in the market checking out a line of 50 people with shopping carts filled with alcohol. :rotfl2:
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I wonder if they'll start scrambling to find out when Disney cruises are setting off to make sure they have enough stock for the onslaught of Disney cruisers stocking up before the cruise? LOL

Since we have to have a mixture of banter and cruise related information, I have finally gotten this activity off the ground. I have wanted to do a scavenger hunt on the boat since last year. In the past I have made pirate maps for the kids and hid them around the house with clues leading to the next map. I tried to think of a way to transfer this idea to the Magic but I would really need to be on the Magic to come up with really good clues. Also having people stationed around the ship handing out the next map seems to be way to involved. So I did some research and discussed with Cherie and I think I have come up with a workable idea. I am open to comments, suggestions and help on making this a lot of fun. So here goes my idea.

  • We will make up teams out of those that sign up to participate. Depending on the interest the size of the teams may vary.
  • Each team will need one digital camera/team.
  • Each team will be will be given a list of items/places on the Magic that must be photographed with one of the team members in the photo.
  • First team that collects all of the designated photos and returns to the starting point will be deemed the winner.
  • The list of items/places may require some thought and knowledge of the ship.
Example: Paintbrush
Since this would be an easy one, the team would head off to Animators Palette and take a picture of the paintbrush outside the restaurant with one of the team members in the pictures. Trust me the actual list will not be this easy and will require all of your cunning pirate skills.

I would love to have a few volunteers that would be interested in coming up with items/places on the Magic for the list. Also help at the end to verify the winner. If you volunteer for this you will not be able to participate in the actual scavenger hunt.

I am thinking that this activity would be great on the sea day following Aruba. By that time people will have spent enough time around the ship to be familiar with most of areas.

sounds like fun but I think we'll pass becasue it will be too hard! I honestly wouldn't have known where to find a paintbrush.. or atleast I wouldn't have thought of it. and if it's harder than that... we'll just watch everyone else having fun. LOL We're not well-versed enough with the ship to do this, I don't think.

Your post is just the one that I found on the last page when I pulled up the thread so this is not just directed at you. :) Just in general for the thread, please let that discussion stay on that thread. Thanks. :thumbsup2
Well I was gonna respond to another post saying I posted on that thread and didn't get the person saying they couldn't find cruise related info on our thread... which doesn't make sense to me since all cruise related info is on the first post with links and another site as well! But then I saw your post.
And honestly I'm a bit confused- they can make a thread talking about cruise meet threads, and even specifically THIS ONE, but we can't talk about THEIR thread on this thread? :confused3 That's weird.

This is a great idea, my kids would love to do this. When we were on RCCL in Nov 06 the clubs did this with the teens and with the 10 year olds and they had to go around the ship finding different things. On the 10 year olds hunt one part was that they had to find people that lived in or came from certain countries and they had to have them sign the paper next to that country.

I am terrible at coming up with ideas for these type of things but would love to help where it is needed

..wow, stepht5, ...i didn't realized..how involved..that story went...

..2 things...i would consider bothersome...no doubt, you was the target, &
the extremes were negative..no one..in their right mind...[ & there's you go].

Exactly!! LOL! Believe me that's what dh thought also..... We are usually pretty careful but, this time around we will be even more careful. :)

YES! You are too, right?
Yes I believe we are so you better have one of our cell numbers to give us a ring while you are there :) I was REALLY hoping to get a ball game in too so we'll see if I'm gonna lose out on that one :guilty:

Sorry I had to jump out of chat yesterday, a visitor turned up then we ended up going out for the evening.

This past week has been a little eventful to say the least...

My aunt (Mum's sister) in the UK has been unwell for sometime and was diagnosed with anorexia - she's in her 70's, they couldn't find anything physically wrong. They finally admitted her to a psychiatric facility and gave her another batch of tests and found it actually wasn't all in her head, she has pancreatic cancer which had already spread to her liver. This was last weekend they finally diagnosed that... and by this stage she was so weak and sick they couldn't even move her to a hospice - they gave her 2 months max to live.

I was then working away in Auckland, Monday-Thursday, and once I arrived in Auckland, one of the first emails from Mum was that she was catching the first flight to the UK on Monday evening - she always said she'd never go back to the UK for a funeral but was hoping she could at least see her sister before she passed.

I then got promoted at work on Friday - finally - good news!

I also on Friday spoke to my brother and he said the title for the property is now done so we should hear from the lawyers this week about buying the land in the country - only been waiting since Christmas for this.

Mum emailed to say she would be coming home next Thursday but we got another message this morning saying that she was at her sister's bedside as at this stage they were talking hours to live.

If you are religious feel free to say a small prayer for my Aunt for a swift and painless passing. That is all I am wishing for her at this moment. Although she lives in England, I have very fond memories of her when we visited and I will be sad to know I won't see her again.

A real week of ups and downs.

Hmmm... Chocolate Smoothies? I've never tried those. I've had a number of Strawberry Smoothies on the magic and they are pretty tasty! Guess I'll have to branch out :thumbsup2

Pamela
What the.. ?!?!?
listen here- no one told me about chocolate smoothies. NO ONE TOLD ME THEY HAD CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIES.
this is criminal.....

Okay how much are they? I gotta start budgeting for them... LOL
