Would it be possible to have 1 non stopping bus? Or is that too difficult?

I don't think we have enough people who don't want to stop . . . also, it is the issue of breaking up by pickup location. The stop should only take about 10-15 minutes, and those not wanting to go in can stay in the bus (my girls probably will).

LOVE Bev Mo....if I had a vote, I'd say this was a better stop than a grocery store

I'm worried from looking at the website that it is not a good enough stop for soda and water, which is what some people want (not the beer, wine, liquor). Are you sure it has this kind of things?

I should have known better than to venture to the main board. But when someone comes here and brings up a thread, my curiosity gets the best of me.

Ok, so this person has 5 posts total, 3 of which are on that thread. How on earth could they have been invovled in their last meet thread? Ok, so maybe they created a new log in this year. So that leaves 2 possible posts to 'try' to join in on the current thread? You will only get back what you put in. If you don't post questions, they can't be answered. Is your meet thread supposed to fawn all over you begging you to come back and post? I don't think so.

Yes, some meet threads are hard to keep up. But most will have pertinent information summarized on the first post or on a separate website. And if you don't want to get to know anyone, why would you want to participate in their activities?

I could go on...but I won't...rant over

Yes, they do have soda and water. I'll stop by my local one this weekend and try to snap some pics.

Well, if they have water and soda and enough registers, you are exactly right -- more efficient that finding your way through a large grocery store. Thanks for checking into it, Monica.

We're off to shop for DD9 (10 tomorrow) birthday gifts. Not doing much else this weekend. He wants to go to a local family fun center for go-carts, games, etc. His party is next weekend. 9 boys, but we are taking them to a climbing gym to burn up all that boy energy. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. This thread is a lot of fun. We usually aren't "group" people and this is new for us, but I am having fun lurking and some of you really crack me up. We are really looking forward to this trip!:)

FYI - Autograph session with Joey and Alfonso -

Hey M - or whomever wrote this: Joey said he does NOT live on the ship but that somehow the ship keeps pulling him back here. :rotfl2:

Carlton was a bit :snooty: but that's ok - he was still funny - probably felt less comfortable than Joey.

Merryl and Hal - will tell DJ Mike tonight! :thumbsup2

Whomever asked about Cecelia in Palo's will ask tonight.

Here's a shot:

I was the one about Ceceila. She was our server on our first cruise. Was hoping hse will be on the EB.

Since we have to have a mixture of banter and cruise related information, I have finally gotten this activity off the ground. I have wanted to do a scavenger hunt on the boat since last year. In the past I have made pirate maps for the kids and hid them around the house with clues leading to the next map. I tried to think of a way to transfer this idea to the Magic but I would really need to be on the Magic to come up with really good clues. Also having people stationed around the ship handing out the next map seems to be way to involved. So I did some research and discussed with Cherie and I think I have come up with a workable idea. I am open to comments, suggestions and help on making this a lot of fun. So here goes my idea.

  • We will make up teams out of those that sign up to participate. Depending on the interest the size of the teams may vary.
  • Each team will need one digital camera/team.
  • Each team will be will be given a list of items/places on the Magic that must be photographed with one of the team members in the photo.
  • First team that collects all of the designated photos and returns to the starting point will be deemed the winner.
  • The list of items/places may require some thought and knowledge of the ship.
Example: Paintbrush
Since this would be an easy one, the team would head off to Animators Palette and take a picture of the paintbrush outside the restaurant with one of the team members in the pictures. Trust me the actual list will not be this easy and will require all of your cunning pirate skills.

I would love to have a few volunteers that would be interested in coming up with items/places on the Magic for the list. Also help at the end to verify the winner. If you volunteer for this you will not be able to participate in the actual scavenger hunt.

I am thinking that this activity would be great on the sea day following Aruba. By that time people will have spent enough time around the ship to be familiar with most of areas.

Sounds like fun
We still have some old blue laws on the books here in NY - can't by alcohol on Sundays before 12 noon.

I live on the border of Seminole and Orange cty and Seminole is OK on Sundays. They drop the tarp over the alcohol on Sundays in Orange.

There is also a store called Beverages and More (BevMo) out here..here is one in Long Beach but it is off of the path to get to the port..but they are pretty much a store that sells lots of different wines etc..

Here is the link to their website (maybe some of you will have a rental car and wish to go prior to the bus) There is also a location in brea which is approximately 15 minutes from DL. There is also one in Torrance which is about 20 minutes from LAX.

Your post is just the one that I found on the last page when I pulled up the thread so this is not just directed at you. :) Just in general for the thread, please let that discussion stay on that thread. Thanks. :thumbsup2

That is one seriously nice looking door magnet

I think that's from the sequel... Something to do with Capt. Jack Sparrow taking over from Hook and trying to use lead paint to poison Peter pan, only to discover that Tink has been feeding Pan lead for centuries to keep him from growing up....:rolleyes1

(Apologies in advance to anyone possibly offended by the humorous reference to lead poisoning, which is, indeed, not a laughing matter. It's just my own political incorrectness showing through....).

I just thought of one more thing -- are there any restrictions on buying alcohol on Sunday mornings?

I don't know what I find more puzzling - that at first I didn't even understand the question (being also in California), or that I didn't know about the 2am-6am restriction (being largely a non-drinker).

I do not know, all I read is booze,:woohoo: More booze,,:woohoo: and even more booze,:woohoo: and this is a Disney ship?pirate:

friends of Bill meetings every day quoted in the navigator. Attendance 2,200, (Rest kids)

Care to join my group Andrew? Chug chocolate smoothies during the trip. "Friends of Dentists" meetings every morning? :cool2:

(And no, it is not true that the only reason I prefer DCL is the presense of chocolate smoothies aboard. It's only one of the .... well, I'm sure there are at least a few other reasons... I'm sure it will come to me in a minute.... :rolleyes1 )

My DS discovered the chocolate smoothies on our last DCL cruise. Now there's no stopping him! :sad2: ;)

Hmmm... Chocolate Smoothies? I've never tried those. I've had a number of Strawberry Smoothies on the magic and they are pretty tasty! Guess I'll have to branch out :thumbsup2
